    Remember Sauce Gardner from Jets? He’s from a small school also but he dominate in covering😬😁👍

      That’s not equal footing between those two programs. I mean Sauce played in the College Football Championship Series that season, and Cincinnati is a way larger program than Toledo.
      I mean off the top of my head… Brent Celek, Conor Barwin, and Jason Kelce were all Cincinnati Bearcats that played for the Eagles. Add in Travis Kelce, Sauce Gardener, Bryan Cook, Coby Bryant, Alec Pierce, Chris Moore, Ivan Pace Jr., Myjai Sanders, Darrian Beavers, and Desmond Ridder as Cincinnati Bearcats that are playing in the league right now. I’m sure I’m missing players too.
      I mean as someone who spent time as a former FCS regional scout, and just a follower of college football, I can’t think of another active Toledo Rocket playing in the NFL outside of Kareem Hunt and Diontae Johnson. The only other guy I can think of is Eagles legend, Treyvon Hester. I joke but if my memory holds true, Treyvon is who got a hand on the kick in Chicago during the 2018 wild card game. Now, I don’t keep a Rolodex of this type of thing, but no other active player comes to my mind. I’m sure I’m missing someone from Toledo but Cincinnati is clearly a more established program.
      I’m not throwing shade at the Mid American Conference either. I think Western Michigan is a good school that does produce NFL talent on occasion, Buffalo is a solid football school, and NC State coach Dave Doeren, he got his start in the Mid with Northern Illinois.
      Also, to be clear, I think Quinyon Mitchell is going to be a very good player in the league. Although he played at a smaller school, he has tape against Isaiah Williams, Marvin Harrison Jr., and Jaxon Smith-Ejigba. Those are all good receivers. In saying that though, I recognize that Cincy and Toledo’s football programs are a false equivalency. Cincy is a legit football school.

    Speed at CB is more impactful than speed at WR. WRs know where they're going and have a head start most times. CBs have to react. The 4.3 speed of Mitchell vs the 4.5 speed of Arnold really was the difference

      @@welldoneproductions9416 CeeDee Lamb has 4.5 speed but he's a fucking beast. It's damn near impossible to be a good CB in the NFL with 4.5 speed. Tre White of the Bills is a rare example, but he plays a lot of zone coverages with a lot of cushion

    • @CoachHeitter
      @CoachHeitter  6 місяців тому +1

      What's up Sean, I hope all is well! To play devil's advocate, Jaylon Johnson, Jmaes Bradberry (Not That 2023 version, Good Grief), and Rasul Douglas are all 4.5 or + 40 guys. There are a lot more that ran 4.44-4.45 at pro days, likely 4.5 times due to hand timers.
      For outside corners, I think fluidity in hips is more important than raw 40 times. Your ability to be centered, low, and smooth in your back pedal leading into the transition of flipping your hips. There are a lot of straight line speed guys that run sub 4.4/40 times but they’re very tight in their hips.

      What's up Carlos! The run on QBs. I can't believe that happened. 5 QBs in the first 10 picks, and 6 QBs in the top 12 picks. The board fell in a way that I'm not too sure anyone could have predicted.

      @GateCitySportsTalk you think we stand pat or move up in 2nd ?could you imagine if dejean is there for us aswell I doubt it but that would be awesome but I believe they might go for o-line depth

    • @CoachHeitter
      @CoachHeitter  6 місяців тому +1

      I think they have some decisions to make along the O-Line, at EDGE (especially past this season), TE2, RB (behind Barkley), at LB, and while I feel good about CJGJ/Blank/And Sidney, I wonder if they add one more safety.
      Also, the more I think about it, I wouldn’t rule out another CB before the end of the draft.
      Lastly, if they can steal a WR, if teams lose sight of that position, I think Howie will jump on BPA.

    Hash mark to the sideline is his zone duty

    • @CoachHeitter
      @CoachHeitter  6 місяців тому +2

      Numbers to the sideline. He looks like he’s playing MOD on anything above 10.
      The hashes are the Nickel and Safety. They work 2-to-3. I didn’t like the rep from the Nickel. He did very little to challenge the receiver pushing vertical up the hash, and at one point, he even allowed him inside of his right foot. I think he was counting on that APEX a little too much, and put his safety in a bad spot.
      However, to the comment from the young man about corners playing 10 yards off. He definitely doesn’t understand how drop quarters is played.

  • @kamdaworst
    @kamdaworst 6 місяців тому +1

    do you think competition plays a factor into it?, he did attend toledo and played some decent caliber wr’s but not league guys

    • @CoachHeitter
      @CoachHeitter  6 місяців тому +7

      That’s a tough one. To an extent, the competition you play helps out with the overall analysis. However, on the other hand, that’s outside the control of the player, and the fundamentals within the technique played should matter more than competition.
      I will say, Isaiah Williams (Illinois), Jaxon Smith-Njigba, and Marvin Harrison Jr., are all really good players, and Quinyon played them over the past two years. Also, his performance at the Senior Bowl was dominant. He was lining up against guys that will be playing on Sundays, and he looked the part.

      They do. However, Quinyon is the guy that has the ceiling to be a true lock down corner, and if Wiggins reaches that 190 goal, I would put him up there too. I think the board fell perfectly for us, and we didn't need to reach or over leverage picks.
