@@ferusskywalker9167 I understand that it is hard to play on a too small instrument as an adult, but I am also referring to the general bad sound quality of smaller instruments. @@ferusskywalker9167 There are definitely just acoustic differences even just taking out any fingerings. A violin is measured from it’s shoulder, just beside the nose, to the edge by the end pin at the bottom, in inches using a tape measure. Full size, or 4/4 on a violin measures 14” 3/4 - 13” 1/2 - 12” 1/4 - 11” 1/8 - 10” 1/16 - 8” Violas, however, don’t have a ‘standard size’ as such, and anything from 15” - 17” is considered ‘standard’, with 16” being the most common. I don’t know how smaller violas work, one of my friends learnt viola on small violins tuned down a fifth, so perhaps that. One interesting evening for me was their 'Matching Classical Music to Famous Artwork' which led me to the Sculpty Works' reacting to it vid. He has a degree in Art and his choices of music were fascinating but then someone in those comments, who has a deep knowledge of music, threw in his opinion and these were more obscure pieces which I also listened to and imagined if they fitted the artwork better... or not. Of course it's all subjective. Next recommended was Sculpty Works' vid where he actually took up Brett & Eddy's challenge of assembling... or rather throwing together... a $60 violin. This was fascinating as he's a luthier and he took great pride in doing a top notch job. So one thing led to another and I wonder why even later nights are becoming the norm! I'm blaming TwoSet!! But it's all educational fun...
I love how Brett’s still hella confused with the sound that’s coming out of his 1/16 violin after playing Navarra with it last year.
I love how the difference in sound isn't super dramatic with each drop in size, but you can definitely hear it progressively get worse to the point where I started to wonder if they were still playing the same piece
omg the first thing i thought of when i saw the 1/16 cello is whether it can be played as a violin and then eddy did exactly that and it actually worked im so happy
My cat was seriously annoyed by the time they started playing on the 1/8 instruments 😂
the bow was so short that brett sometime run out of bow without him even realize 🤣🤣🤣
Omg the laughter behind the scenes must've been amazing when they had to switch to the smaller instruments. 🤣
the moment when they stopped sounding like a string quartet and instead like a set of bagpipes
8:45 is what it sounds like when your entire DnD campaign is made up of halfling bards.
one of my favorite string quartet pieces
watching them trying to keep a straight face is literally priceless
This used to be one of my favorite quartets ...
I always love it when they play in quartet.
Hands up to all four on the effort on playing with those tiny instruments. Hahaha!
Make this a series please...
Dear TwoSet, please do more "we listen to classical music and talk about it" videos, like the "Contemporary music" and the "5 chillest music" videos!
I love how hard they really try to make a sound out of those tiny instruments
11:04 Those small 1/16 Size instruments sound even better after improvements were made
