Speedin bullet to heaven is one of my favorite rock albums. The songs were real and raw. He held nothing back, and I feel like the Beavis and butthead sketches were the comic relief of the album due to all the dark vibes and lyrics. It was so different that it's off-putting but if you listen you'll find something you like about it. Also didn't help that apple music listed it as a hip-hop album without cudis consent so a bunch of people were tricked into buying it
As it pertains to logic I felt like Bohemian Trapsody was an unexpectedly good song. I didn’t mind his switch up especially considering his track record of overused lyrics.
Logic has NEVER been criticized for his bi--racialness. He's been criticized endlessly for bringing it up constantly, but never for being bi-racial. It's not racism directed at Logic, it's exhaustion.
Really depends on the fan of the artist. I love kid cudi and I got into metal, punk and rock before hip hop. I liked speedin bullet to heaven. It’s not the best but it’s punk rock for sure
Lil Wayne really did try different things during that era. I mean between his major projects Carter III and Carter IV he had Drought 3, No ceilings, We are young money, Rebirth, Sorry 4 the wait and during those years something like 80 features. I mean he probably needed to keep things interesting for himself. Probably for most fans it's just a sideproject that brought Drop the world and that song with Nicki Minaj
Rebirth went gold had hits and had the biggest cultural impact on the new gen it’s definitely a success f the critics who mad Wayne side missioned their genre
G-Eazy is missing on this list very bad! Also Eminem - Revival but I can't remember if it's a whole other genre, it was so bad that almost no one ever talked about it
Lil Wayne was probably on drugs when he did Rebirth. But I still rocked with it, tracks was slamming. Especially the one he did with Nicki on a rock verse
Kid cudi album is one that will be one that ages like whiskey. I argue that SBTH is better than Entergalactic. 90% of cudi lyrics are dark even when theyre meant to be happy lol. His persona is literally MOTM. Dark side of the moon come on. He expresses the ingenuity in the world and how his pure intentions are tested by a darker force. If youre looking for more insight of how that force behaves for him as a fan that album is a necessity.

Matty i really appreciate the MGK explanation at the start . As much hate as MGK gets he did not fail switching genres and the numbers prove that.
Man kid cudi speeding bullet to heaven is one of the best albums ever you just gotta have problems
Uh, no. My life was a black hole when I heard that album and it was still pure shit. There's so many other albums I turn to for that, so much music that succeeds in all the ways Speeding Bullet just falls flat. Plus, the Beavis and Butthead skits obliterate any possibility of gleaning any meaningful experience from it. Like, WTF?
Rebirth is a banger imo
13:04 The album cover to Speedin Bullet 2 Heaven looks like Cudi is preforming Echolocation
Speeding Bullet 2 Heaven was a Seance with Kurt Cobain ,it's fire, literally listen to it from top to bottom once a month
You wrong for letting us hear those secondes of logic music, didnt have to do us like that, that was cold man
Keep up the great work and don't let anyone stop you
Prom queen, drop the world, and knockout were pretty big hits. They were played on the radio a lot when that album was released, I remember it
The thing about MGK is he already had fans from the rock genre so it wasn’t really that hard for them to get around his new phase
Yeah. He wasn't a hardcore rapper, he had always made rock songs, people who rocked with him then didn't feel the difference
Just stumbled upon your videos a couple of days ago... love the content and had to subscribe 🔥🔥🔥🔥
I feel like Wayne's Rebirth was the "wait.. you can do this?" moment that paved the way for rappers who could actually carry out the task better.
spot on gang without him there’d be no keef no keef no trippie carti etc lol
Jayz and Linkin park
It’s wild bc I really did like Everybody by Logic… but I also completely understand why everyone was clowning on him for constantly talking about being mixed.
Some of his best songs were on that album imo … and some of his worst lmao. That album is supposed to be listened to front to back though, when certain songs are isolated it can be very cringe
Good coverage here! Good vid, brother!
Vanilla Ice had a couple TV shows in the mid 2000s, where he would flip McMansions down in Florida. I'm pretty sure this was pre-2008, so that probably didn't end well for him.
I was watching ur content since 1 year and now u have 160k shit crazy
Happy for ya dawg
ty bro 🙏🙏
I genuinely think Supermarket was a great album. One of my favorites.
I agree. When I'm not in the mood for rap I put it on. Nothing on there will ever be a number one, but all the tracks are solid.
Enjoyed this video Matty thanks man!
I kind of liked Rebirth when I was younger, but it's been a while since I've heard it
one of my favorite youtubers!! keep it up bro!!
I literally came here to see if you'd mention MGK, so to see that you acknowledge the fact that he's actually doing insanely well was nice to see
I left a comment on a video a couple days ago or maybe several, but I’ve watched another 10 videos from you. Keep these coming sorry I’m late to the show!
I honestly think speeding bullet to heaven was amazing!
There's a lot of you in the comments. I just don't get it, and I can't.
I actually once opened for a band that on another occasion opened for Vanilla Ice's Metal band. I basically met the man that met Andy Griffith #bawoosh
SBTH isn’t even that bad of an album, yeah it has a lot of unpleasant sounds but if you have a taste in music that doesn’t cater to only rap and hip hop i believe you’d like at least a couple songs. the album is dark, emotional and full of passion and it’s so much more real than what most artists convey in their music and for that i appreciate this album far more than the general audience does. its gotten me through some tough shit due to its grittiness and how unapologetic it is, cudi really put his demons on display and i could relate to that. unpopular opinion but it doesn’t deserve the hate it gets
It's a very boring and slow album,no energy to it.
@@justinarzola4584 sounds like you didn’t even listen to it at all, it obviously has a lot of energy and ebbs and flows like any other musical production
@@MrDerpCentral it's very boring when you compare it to other grunge rock albums Cudi tried to emulate.
Lil Wayne's rebirth was not a fail it went gold
When I was in high school I listened to lil Wayne everyday and I still listen to lil Wayne to this day
Akon. He switched to dance/afrobeats and failed miserably
Matty finally said something about Weezer and ofc its about Can't Stop Partying 💀
the family guy n subway surfer clips 😭
I wonder how bad the audience retention slipped when you took off the subway surfers gameplay ☠️
Vanilla Ice also came back in the UK during the 2000's. He teamed up with the Irish pop duo Jedward do a mash up cover of Ice Ice Baby and Under Pressure.
Lil Wayne Rebirth is one of his greatest albums of all time.
another W matty video thanks mr.ballz
Logic has NEVER been criticized for his bi--racialness. He's been criticized endlessly for bringing it up constantly, but never for being bi-racial. It's not racism directed at Logic, it's exhaustion.
You don't talk about "Everything's strange here" by G-Eazy and "93 punk" by Vic Mensa
Yeah true both of those sucked especially G Eazy's 2020 album 😂
Stating that lil Wayne failed to go rock is crazy.
Intro bit had me rolling. Videos suck these days. Thank u random suggested channel man
Logic never switched genres he just did something different
I’m so glad I found this channel a few days ago😊
MGK went hard in both genres. I like both but I fuck heavy with his newer music but I do miss his rapping
Idk I like a lot of songs from logic’s supermarket. It’s such a vibe for me.
Rebirth went gold had hits and had the biggest cultural impact on the new gen it’s definitely a success f the critics who mad Wayne side missioned their genre
I haven’t even watched the vid yet but I know it’ll be fire.
Edit: it was indeed fire.
Vanilla ice hard to swallow is pretty good if you like that type. I thought it was better then most of the rock bands coming out at that time.
I just discovered it from this video and holy shit. Defintely an album I'm gonna need to add to my collection
solid content man
The amount of rappers who think making a rock album when they have never listened to rock music is a good idea is wild
L he listens to nirvana & Green Day 😂 ect
It works most the time
@@Moderu99 ok, he is just incapable of making it sound like he’s heard any then due to lack of talent 🤷♂️
@@Kumquat57 like when?
@@nicholassimon1419 kid cudi, lil wayne, lil uzi vert, and pharell williams
G-Eazy is missing on this list very bad!
Also Eminem - Revival but I can't remember if it's a whole other genre, it was so bad that almost no one ever talked about it
I would listen to rebirth every day for months after it came out and have been going back to it lately. Such a cool sound.
honestly huge respect for wayne for trying something new like that back then and while being at the top
Lil Wayne was probably on drugs when he did Rebirth. But I still rocked with it, tracks was slamming. Especially the one he did with Nicki on a rock verse
😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
been watching since “who is p4rkr”, love your videos matty
thanks for the support!
The edit for 12 yr olds was genius im dying laughing
Rebirth wasnt successful?! Lies. It inspired a whole genre of rappers who felt comfortable experimenting in other genres. And the album went platinum
