I really wanted to get the Ultra 2 for my birthday because I have a problem with always wanting to spend money on the most expensive stuff. My wife surprised me with the Series 9 instead, 45 mm, and I am so glad she did. This thing is awesome.

I had a series 6 I had to charge every night or it would die on me .. got the ultra 2 and it’s absolutely amazing!!
72 Hours battery life of my Ultra2, with sleep monitoring and 1h walk. Is a big step from Watch 6.

I'm late to the smartwatch scene. But I am heavily invested in the Apple ecosystem.
My girlfriend got me the Apple watch series 8 45mm last year for my birthday and I Love it!
so much in fact I was thinking about upgrading to the ultra as I enjoy all the other pro products. But.. pfftt 800 dollars is a big ask for better battery life and a more premium look. It's hard to justify when it's nearly the same. I can nearly upgrade and buy an iphone for that money. If they had priced it at around the 600-650 dollar price mark I think it's worth it at that.

I got the ultra at launch and it’s been hands down the best Apple product I’ve purchased in a while. 2 years and the battery is still great, I’ve never had it die on me and I’ve ran a couple marathons with it. And it still doesn’t have many scratches on it. I don’t think the regular Apple Watch I had before it compares to it at all if you’re a runner.
I don’t think I’m upgrading unless there’s AI stuff built into the next one.
Totally agreed! That's the kind of insight you can only get from experiencing both in depth. Once you have the reference and get used to the extra benefits of the Ultra, you can't really go back... Glad you found what was missing for you! 🙌
Do what I did and buy the ultra 2 used as can get it much cheaper and if you shop around get one still in warranty, longer battery life is a winner and can turn off lots of non essential things to get even more battery life, though 49mm would be to big but love the bigger screen 🥳🥳
Also looking forward to the newer software for both watch and phone later this year 🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳
