When you set the torque above 900nm, you must tune your TCU. I have done that and it is really clever. It saves the transmission and makes it faster in shifting.
Iwas thinking going TVS tcu for my GTI Clubsport. Im stage 1 at 370 hp 460 nm or so. Im thiniing raising the clamp pressure will increase wear. Is it still needed & beneficial on a Stage 1 tune?

It’s not that so much, it’s more people think the C7 generation RS6/7 has launch control when it doesn’t. So if you keep launching it like this it will break as the car is not meant to launched off the line like this
@@DreStyle No but if you would upgrade the shaft the trans would get more peak load. A drive axle giving takes load from the transmission. Imagine a plastic trans on a metal drive system and then a metal transmission on a plastic drive system.. You need to have a weakpoint that gives up befor another component does zhat is way more expensive. Sure the trans isn't happy but the axle twisting takes that first momentum from the transmission and diff. Would it be more stable and not give the momentum would hit the trans and diff harder because instant resistance and no flex.
@@cooldaddyslick6869dawg, English is my third language and I got the gist of what the lad was saying. In layman's terms: RS6's have lots of low-end torque, which is okay when stock. But once you've got a few proper bolt-ons + tune and are on a drag prepped surface, you're going to want to apply some sort of exponential curve to your low end torque, so it only really kicks in hard at higher RPMs instead of from a dead stop, which leads to snapped axles.
@@snizlasnizlaI dont thinks he dreaming,if your going to buy an rs6 for track bashing,using launch control all the time,in extremely heavy car,then your not going to do it on stock parts,I dont think the guy Is far off in his price for gearbox and axles,to laugh control a heavy car,to be honest the rs6 isnt a track or drag car,just a nice expensive family car,if u use launch control and damage parts,even though its on the car as standard,u may gave a hard time getting repairs done under warranty

Yep a well-known for that. The turbos get clogged up with gunk and oil can't circulate so the motor and the turbos blow from lack of oil. And the driveshafts in those get blown out all the time too. Bad a$$ whip other than that

My 2008 RS6 has 230k miles and apart from lot of maintenance,, never gave me any issues. But i never modified it engine wise is factory..the V10 has been a hell of a car❤

Aah... The good old RS6 diff. The only weak point in a otherwise perfect car of its class.
Drive axle not diff. It is "wanted" to keep the trans and diff save. Drive axle isn't that expensive.

In this ones yes, my C6 as more than 200k.miles never had issues, but to be honest i only launched it i think twice that i remember

Someone elsewhere pointed out it's deliberate (sacrificial) to save the diff & Trans. Driveshaft is cheap & easy(ish) to replace.

But once you've got a few proper bolt-ons + tune and are on a drag prepped surface, you're going to want to apply some sort of exponential curve to your low end torque, so it only really kicks in hard at higher RPMs instead of from a dead stop, which leads to snapped axles.

A lot of tuners will take low end torque
