I thought Days Gone would have a similar case to Ghost of Tsushima, which only has a framerate improvement to 60fps. However, there are some (small) changes to this game. The resolution remains identical to that of PS4 Pro (4K checkerboard), the drawing distance has been slightly increased and some models have increased their polygon size on PS5. The framerate is the most noticeable change, which stands at almost constant 60fps. The performance suffers a bit when we are riding a motorcycle in the most detailed areas and with the hordes of zombies. All in all, it's a great update for this game and a perfect time to pick up where I left off (if I ever have free time). Please test Kingdom hearts 3. Its one of my favorite games and runs with an unlocked frame rate on ps4 and ps4 pro so I would love to see if the ps5 will allow the game to run at a locked 60 fps. Nobody on YT has done it yet, or at least I cant find anyone that has. Btw great vids!
@@spunkysamuel To be honest I never really paid much attention to fps either. I've been playing at 30 fps for a long time and it never bothered me or even made me notice. That said, watching this comparison video, it's amazing the difference between 30 and 60 fps and how it makes the game seem completely different in a good way.
May not look like too much of a difference here but as someone who beat this game on ps4 and is just now playing on ps5, it’s a shockingly huge difference. Feels like a new game

Eh.. I thought it was ok. I liked the larger environments compared to The Last of US 2 (which can feel tight). The Last of Us 2 in general, has a way better storyline and way more likeable characters. To me Deacon was extremely obnoxious and his voice was too.
@@whatthehec6736 I agree that The Last of Us Pt.2 (and even Pt. 1) had FAR superior story writing and far superior character depth and development, and TLoU was the better game in terms of emotional and moral difficulty, but Days Gone was still an excellent game by my estimation. The first few hours are rough, but I still thought Days Gone was brilliant in several ways. The way the virus starts to spread and mutate was my favorite thing about it. The freaked start to evolve and change, and the virus even starts infecting animals. I thought that was awesome but the game didn't really do a good job of telling the player about the change, they just sort of show up without any fanfare. I also loved how like 4 separate times the game would start to feel like 8t was wrapping up and then suddenly you find that there's an entire new region you're headed to with new weapons, new bike parts, new missions, etc.
It's my PS5 show-off title at the moment. The 60 fps together with the great Anti-Aliasing makes this to one of the most beautiful games I have ever seen.

For anybody interested. I replaced my HDD with a Samsung v-nand SSD 860 EVO in my ps4 pro. This same initial load test with the digital ps+ version of Days Gone was 61 seconds.
Me acuerdo cuando me compre el juego de salida para mi ps4 slim y prácticamente no podía jugarlo xd, me pegaban unos bajones a 15fps y tenia tantos bugs que no podía jugar xd (literalmente en la parte en la que estas yendo en moto con boozer hacia lost lake había una carretera en la que no me cargaban las texturas y no me dejaba pasar y moría una y otra vez) menos mal que finalmente corrigieron la mayoría y pude sacarme el platino, pero asta que llegó ese momento me frustre demasiado.
Yo lo platine asi. Lo tengo en disco y lo jugue sin actualizarlo, tenias unos bajones terribles y bugs raros. Pero una vez lo actualize se vovio uno de mis juegos favoritos.
I played this game originally on a PS4 Slim (in 2020, after the major patches had already dropped,) and I had some disappointing framerate issues, especially when dealing with hoards or driving into a new zone. I've been dying to replay it on PS5 and today I finally got the email from Walmart saying my order from a couple weeks ago has shipped.
This game definitely worths a revisit on PS5 since on PS4, it has numerous frame rate issues which hinder a proper gaming experience. I’d recommend anyone who have not play this game to give it a go.

This game, and rdr 2, and the spiderman game are the only ones that I have played multiple times. There are great games out there but once I beat them they go on the shelf. These I keep coming back to them.

I beat the game on my PS4 and now enjoying a new game + on the PS5 Slim and it's amazing. It feels like a new game entirely even though it's not even a PS5 version but still
1:50 I replaced my original ps4's hdd for a ssd. Am proud now. Mine standard ps4 loaded the game in 1min17s, faster than ps4 pro. Yeah, the diference isn't big, but I recommend switching if you can. You can fell it ingame on the transition loads.
Good video but 2 things You have to upload in 4K. Showing 4K screenshots in 1080 P is useless. You should some a few horses and show the FPS. That’s where PS4 struggles the most
The draw distance is surprisingly good, especially for an open world game on Unreal Engine 4. The only downside is the loading times; it doesn't seem to take full advantage of the SSD on PS5 but it's still a lot better than last gen. Also, a motion blur slider would have been nice to help smoothen out the frames.

I am just watching this now because it's free for PSN member this month, heard lot about this game that how it was buggy and shady at launch and now it's one of the must-play game on PlayStation
On my ps5 the ground keeps turning black and flickering. It started about a week after playing. I wiped the game and saves and cleared the cache in safe mode and also rebuilt the DB doesn’t run :(
Sería una delícia jugar a Rdr 2 a 60 fps en la next gen. Espero y CD project haga sentír el cyberpunk lo suficientemente realista para hacerle frente al apartado técnico de Rdr 2.. Porque sinceramente todos los días que jugué Rdr 2 me impresionaba más.. Ese clíma uff. Luego las animaciones, el plano secuencia. Still scenes and frames on PS5 titles (be it crossover or not) look more like a slight upgrade than actual next gen. But that along with the load times, framerates, haptic feedback and adaptive triggers is what kinda sells the subtitle 'next gen'. Nothing like 8-bit to 16-bit to 3D, though.
You won't see a huge difference until the devs start pushing the system compare any launch title from any ps generation to the games that came out later in the generation it's night and day (ie) Uncharted 1 vs uncharted 3 or even last of us 1

Not much you can do to help visual performance on the ps4 but an ssd sure makes a difference with load times. Same goes for the pro. It's a cheap worthwhile upgrade especially if you can't get your hands on a ps5.
At 4:19, PS4 and PS5 are similar in color, which is interesting if you look at the colors vest, sweater, jacket, hat, and the same thing is repeated several times, that PS4 and PS5 are similar in color. How come the PS4 Pro is so different in color rendering?

From 30 to 60fps we can notice the change in the quality of the gameplay since 60fps is what the human can mostly captured... But from 60fps above you will not be able to differentiate the difference that much.... But the higher the fps the better the the game will look....

Yeah, the diference isn't big, but I recommend switching if you can. You can fell it ingame on the transition loads.

The draw distance is surprisingly good, especially for an open world game on Unreal Engine 4. The only downside is the loading times; it doesn't seem to take full advantage of the SSD on PS5 but it's still a lot better than last gen. Also, a motion blur slider would have been nice to help smoothen out the frames.

@@midnightgamerx7848 it's still a PS4 game so there's no extra cost, you just have the option to toggle 60fps on PS5. Same as The Last of Us Part 2, God of War and others.

Got the game and just started playing! To be honest it's good open world games are the best!by the way ps4 pro with 4k TV looks amazing!
On my ps5 the ground keeps turning black and flickering. It started about a week after playing. I wiped the game and saves and cleared the cache in safe mode and also rebuilt the DB doesn’t run :(

Sería una delícia jugar a Rdr 2 a 60 fps en la next gen. Espero y CD project haga sentír el cyberpunk lo suficientemente realista para hacerle frente al apartado técnico de Rdr 2.. Porque sinceramente todos los días que jugué Rdr 2 me impresionaba más.. Ese clíma uff. Luego las animaciones, el plano secuencia. Me enamoran los videojuegos que realmente se creen lo que son, Otra forma de arte. Otra forma de expresión, que en esencia pueden hacer mucho más que cualquier otra arte. Y Solo Rockstar sabe exprimír las máquinas, junto con Cd project y Naughty dog

Es un juegazo, lastima que salió con tantos Bugs al inicio que recibió malas críticas, pero su historia, jugabilidad, ufff, un deleite, ya le he echado unas 40 horas y aún me falta un tercio del juego, en mi 2060 anda a 90-120 fps a 1080, podría subirlo a 4k pero andaría a 50-60 xD mejor FPS altos, al menos yo lo prefiero así

Its a shame that this game is only on play station love the game waiting for part 2 it's similar to the last of us but harder the loading time really annoying on the pro its a shame I finished the game since i have ps5 still didn't open the box
Still scenes and frames on PS5 titles (be it crossover or not) look more like a slight upgrade than actual next gen. But that along with the load times, framerates, haptic feedback and adaptive triggers is what kinda sells the subtitle 'next gen'. Nothing like 8-bit to 16-bit to 3D, though.
You won't see a huge difference until the devs start pushing the system compare any launch title from any ps generation to the games that came out later in the generation it's night and day (ie) Uncharted 1 vs uncharted 3 or even last of us 1

Estoy a punto de pasarme este juego y en general el juego va a 60FPS en ps5 pero en los alrededores de los campamentos suele tener como unos cortes que molestan, pienso que es por los NPC'S cargando
Not much you can do to help visual performance on the ps4 but an ssd sure makes a difference with load times. Same goes for the pro. It's a cheap worthwhile upgrade especially if you can't get your hands on a ps5.
I own all 3, and its the sane on ps4 pro as ps5...but that 60fps....gamechanger

He must have the optimized mode activated (boost mode), as the supersampling lowers the FPS of the games for more details.
60 Fps makes a huge difference as well as loading times

At 4:19, PS4 and PS5 are similar in color, which is interesting if you look at the colors vest, sweater, jacket, hat, and the same thing is repeated several times, that PS4 and PS5 are similar in color. How come the PS4 Pro is so different in color rendering?

From 30 to 60fps we can notice the change in the quality of the gameplay since 60fps is what the human can mostly captured...
But from 60fps above you will not be able to differentiate the difference that much....
But the higher the fps the better the the game will look....
