Lagoon 77 Tellstar - World's Largest and Most Luxurious Lagoon Catamaran
Вставка
- Опубліковано 2 чер 2024
- Tellstar is without a doubt the best spec'd and equipped Lagoon Seventy 7 currently on the market. She has just come out of a yard period where all of her systems have been gone through, her hulls repainted, fresh bottom paint, and all of her underwater maintenance completed. She is truly better than the day she was launched in Bordeaux at the legendary CNB Shipyard.

This could have been a 90 minute tour and I still would have wanted more. This is the one reason I work my ass off and buy the occasional lottery ticket...
You have definitely got the gift of the gab.
Its easy when you love what you do ;)
The bulkhead issues and the appalling way Lagoon have been treating customers over this issues have put me off all Lagoon yachts and those of the parent company Beneteau as well.
What are the bulkhead issues?
@@Crazy-platypus a lot, and I mean a lot of Lagoon catarmarans have had their major bulkheads fail. Look it up on here.
And denies having them was the worst of all
The lady on the phone at Lagoon told me I was a dumb loser
@@progressivedemagogue8480 well that is how not to get owners coming back and buying a larger Lagoon for their next boat.
This guy knows how to talk about a yacht. Very fluid with his speech, almost makes you feel like you're right there.
Thanks for the kind words. We love what we do!
@@catamarancentralwhy don’t you talk about Lagoon’s bulkhead issues and how poorly they have been treating customers? Thanks for shilling for a terrible company.

Absolutely gorgeous ship!!
Great job, Whiley!! A true professional!
That will me some day. That lagoon catamaran is so amazing. I only dream about owning one of those one day but for now I’ll just enjoy them on UA-cam. Keep up the good work with these videos and keep them coming. I appreciate all the info you put out on these videos thanks brother.
What an amazing ship! Wonderfully presented :)
Yah, I think this is his best yet
Thanks Timo. We couldn't have done it without the support of her crew. They made it easy for us.
Don, that means a lot since I know you watch all of my videos.
@@catamarancentralcan you sail that thing alone, or you need a crew?
Stayed on Tellstar with my family. One of the best experiences ever! Great Cat!
Thats awesome! When did you charter her?
@@catamarancentral June 2020 and June 2021. Shout out to Captain Jack and his crew!
Awesome video Wiley! Well done as always.
Thanks for watching, and commenting. We had a ton of fun on this shoot.
Excellent presentation thank you brother.
Thanks Jamie. This was a fun one.
Nice tour thanks Wiley> Well presented.
Thanks Peter. I hope all is well down under.
Beautiful looking boat.....
Thorough job thoroughly enjoyed. Simply stunning boat!
Glad you enjoyed it!
I like how you draw mental pictures for the viewer of what areas might be like having your coffee, enjoying a sundowner, under sail, etc. It makes the boat more appealing. It's pretty good subject matter to begin with! These huge cats just have amazing amenities and accommodations. Now if I only had $5 million! (And a 1/2 mil yearly for upkeep.)
Thanks for the kind words Mike. Just to be clear... You don't need $5,000,000. You can buy her for $4,950,000 ;)

What a beauty!!!! Great video!
Conidering its a Lagoon, have bulkhead issues been addressed for this and other Lagoon models?
What bulkhead issues are you referring to?
@@growlkitty😂
@@JDD888 So I looked up the "bulkhead issues" snd I see that anyone who follows the progress of these type of yachts; specifically catamarans, would know about the deformation of the bulkheads and other related issues... but I wouldn't of known because I'd never consider a cat for blue water cruising and hence seldom read or watch anything about these vessels.

Great presentation!
Thanks Michael. This was a fun shoot for us.
Super nice boat ⛵
I keep watching these to see if I see the Big Dog in the background. I was just in Little Harbour about 3 weeks ago, such a cool spot. The little hike around the bluff allowing you to access the run down house on the hill is fun. Watch out for the hermit crabs! :)
Were you guys on charter on The Big Dog?

Awesome job Wiley! This is now my new favorite boat.. Keep it up.
Thanks Andrew. She is truly a special Lagoon 77.
Absolutely Fantastic a very beautiful boat
Many thanks!

Looks Awesome, with some innovative ideas! Can’t help but wonder about build quality, every time I see a Lagoon......!? 🤨 Thanks for sharing. 😎🐬⚓️🏖🌴☀️🇦🇺
I'd buy a 450 in a heartbeat, but hey... What do I know.... I've only sailed a couple thousand miles offshore on one...

We (Yacht Solutions) had the pleasure to work on Tellstar, equipping her from technical to interior gear! A real pleasure to see her on such beautiful spots, thank you Wiley for sharing this with us!
I love the work you guys do!
Hi! You have to be honest. It's not a yacht, it's a landing stage with a sail.
@@vasiliypanamskiy hi! What is a yacht for you and in what extent do you think Tellstar or the Lagoon SEVENTY 7 In general is not a yacht? I am really interested to hear your point of view.
Здорово, вы молодцы
Great design!!
I agree
Yes, please coming soon to my life 🥰💪🙏👍🥰⛵️
Just beautiful 😍
Thank you! 😊
Beautifully presented and well executed.
Thank you kindly!
So far, my favorite set up on the 77 is the Adriatic Dragon.
@6:13 Wiley, you aren't kidding, man. I'm not considering any other manufacturer that doesn't have the helm on the actual fly bridge. Bali, flirted with it. THE HELM IS ON TOP!!!
Nice video I like it bravoo👏👏
Thanks Faith! I think it is one of the best video's we've done.
Ok, I'm willing to take this boat as gift.
I like a lot. Very beautiful
Thank you! Cheers!
I would definitely live on that boat if I could buy one. She is beautiful. Only changes I would make to the exterior is a extended shade over the beach deck and also short ones over the side walkways as walking barefoot on that deck in a hot climate between the front of boat and the rear could be interesting as in firepit walking. Alternative would to have a fine jet of water come out and wet them
Thanks for the comments. Thats an interesting idea for keeping the deck cool
my dream cat ... its stuning....... top of my wish list :)
Buy those lottery tickets ;)
The perfect boat to sink. Installing a balcony, weakening a hull, is pure madness. If it's not to sail, an accommodation in Saint Tropez will be more oratic AND less expensive.
This one didn't have the balcony feature.
Has any Lagoon 77 with balcony sunk or have reported any problems? I know the 45 has but never heard of any problem with the 77
Lagoons usually bore me, with hammy design, but this is something else. you could have commented on the decking...the narrow planks and light wood look amazing. if the owner is going to let you do a review, they might as well allow you to see the crew quarter - it takes less than half an hour to put away anything awkward. there were also quite a few angles missing in the bedrooms shown.
The crew of that boat is enslaved, we are not supposed to see the chains, the cell bars, the torture implements, the traces of blood that even the most effective cleaners cannot remove.
Joking aside I really appreciated how the owner wanted to respect the privacy of the crew, it's not a matter of the time it takes to make that space presentable to be filmed, which is nothing compared to the time it takes to keep the whole boat in impeccable condition, it's a matter of principles, of respect for those who work for you and their rights.
Beautiful boat. Oh dear my lottery ticket.
Bravo! Thanks a lot.
Beautiful Yacht! What happened to the private bath platform attached to the owners state room? Not configured?
The other guest in the video is the „Seven“? 😀☀️?
Just put my order in....!!!! 🔥⚓🔥
nice video sir
Thanks for taking the time to watch!

technical questions : How to reef main ? Protection from lightning strikes ? Ease of service or replacement of fridge, freezer, TV, Washer, Dryer and dishwasher ? Minimum crew size ?
Bravo les Bordelais....
Ce bateau est MAGNIFIQUE !!!!
Je fini déconomiser 😂et je vous appelle !!!!!
The fly bridge aft giant sun bed is the favorite spot for the owner and his guests. I wonder why.
Holy shit, what a vessel... that kitchen is larger than mine!
Nice 👍
Thanks! We had a ton of fun making it!
Is this larger than the Sunreef 80 and the Two Oceans 800 or 850E? Obviously length wise they are bigger but beam I wasn't sure of. Damn fine boat. Wish I could get on a catamaran and sail.
Clif, the SR 80 is slightly larger.
I’ve been looking into acquiring a 77 or a Sixty 7 for a while now, they seem to be the next step up for us and perhaps be great for full time living. However we also like to keep our crew minimal to max 2 people, if any at all, as we do enjoy a close knit ‘yacht family’ and we’re looking for a sailing cat we can rig up for diving. It seems like the higher crew need and also the lack of configurable options to outfit it more for scuba activities may be an issue for us.
Pardon me, Sixty 5.
@@boglenight1551 I understand the difficulty you are encountering for configuration options to make a boat that is capable of regular dive activities. I'm a Captain & Divemaster and it would be great to talk this through with you.
World class vid, Wiley. Good job. Is that Key Bay?
Thanks Jason. We shot this at little harbor on Peter Island ;)
Running costs for this ship would be informative for possible future owners…
It depends a lot on your needs... an experienced crew, captain cook and cabin boy, full-time costs around 200K a year and in addition you have to count berths and chores to keep her always shining...let's say that if you want to live her 12 months to year the cost is around 250/300K ...many prefer to use it for 6 months and the other 6 months you can rent it and recover part of the amount spent, there are specialized agencies that look for boats like this and pay handsomely ... in case you want to do a Charter I suggest you find excellent insurance in addition to the one that the agency offers you for all the damages that are done by uncaring people 😉
4.3 - 6.5 millons € :DDDD
Joke.
I think they build this from from 1.5 millions € - 4x profit!
We understand Wiley!! With the crew members on board, you can't show much of the boat... I like the fact that you respect their privacy.. We will wait for a full tour of the boat next time... However, I really loved the Cat... Very well laid, constructed and decorated! I did see some unused space, but they are intentional... They keep the place comfortable... We shouldn't load the boat with everything we feel like we want!! Awesome Cat, Best tour!! Loads of love from India...
Thanks for the kind words and comments. We had a ton of fun making this one.
@@catamarancentral Ignore them... You did your best...
It is a beautiful boat. But... How well does it sail? What is the hull speed in optimum conditions? What is the average hull speed over the course of six months cruising the oceans? What is the cruising range under power? And something that always puzzles me, is crew comfort. Those are the people running the boat. So, in stormy weather, 20 foot waves, 30kt winds plus rain, the crew has to go out on an uncovered deck, open a hatch and climb down a ladder, then rest and recover in the forward, crashing into the waves portion, of the starboard hull, then for the next watch, get up walk the deck then go back to work. Just doesn't seem like a good way to treat the people responsible for keeping the owner alive. Where is the Captain's cabin? Why is there a large sofa in the owner's cabin? Why would anyone ever use that when there are so many better places to lounge upstairs? And isn't a king sized bed a suitable place to lounge? This boat is certainly large enough for 'round the world travel, but could you keep a crew on board long enough to accomplish that? I don't know, but I would love to hear from sailors who have crewed and captained boats this size on extended voyages.
I just sailed across the Atlantic. When sailing in storms and large seas safety is the main focus not entertaining and all hands are on deck. As far as the space goes the more the better and doing a long passage having private spaces to relax is fantastic. I was on a new Fontaine Pajot 47 which was as nice just a smaller layout. On a large boat crew is critical and usually friends or known people. Most sailors do not hire crew to be entertained when doing a crossing. The sailing community is like a big family. Some do hire unknown crew but is rare and usually falls into line with more money than sense. Being a part of a large cat doing a passage is more of a lifestyle than a job.

THE BOAT IM BUYING IS FOR MYSELF !
Поздравляю
gotta respect the commitment to the racoon eyes
Appreciate the video. Great coverage. I wonder how much will this sell for? And how is this compare to Sunreef 75?
Two very different boats. THe Sunreef 74 versus the Lagoon 77.
They didn't make a 75 that I'm aware of fyi.
Hi I’d love to hear your comments
So if id like to go into storms and sail long passages how is the cockpit protected from wind rain and the cold if its all open ?
You can easily enclose the cockpit of this boat by adding an enclosure.
Yeah I'll take 2 please
Why not dream bigger? Maybe 7? One for each of the 7 seas?
I'm not a fan of cat's, but this one is very well thought out. It would be nice to know what her performance values are...
Well, compare the space of this 77 feet catamaran with the space of an equally length monohul, and maybe you will start to understand, what the fuzz is all about. I by the way could see the purpose of a monohul yacht in some conditions, as for instance if your dream is to sail in arctic regions or if you need to sail in regions, where docking only accommodates monohuls, as is kind of the case here in Scandinavia. But, if you dream is to anchor an sail in tropical or sub-tropical regions, catamarans is the way to go, in my opinion. This catamaran obvious is about sailing and living in luxury and it is not performance oriented at all, even though it sure would do well. It for sure in most conditions would out sail comparable luxury monohuls. But, other catamarans are performance oriented and also offers some great design and space ideas too, for a fraction of the cost really. Look up for instance Windelo 54.
@@1corinthians15.1-4kjv 🌀⛵❤💯
👍 !!
@@1corinthians15.1-4kjvI thought cats were better because they're safer in rough seas and high winds? And monohulls roll over easier in high winds. Isn't that the whole point of a cat? So wouldn't cats be better for artic conditions?
I wonder how much it will cost to replace the bulkheads?
Love this boat! How is a boat like this on a long passage? 20 plus days at sea? I would be in the market, but I lack the finances! Lol!
They've done the trip from the Chesapeake Bay to the Caribbean a few times, and thats about 1500 miles or so.
I have one question….. do the rooms have doors for privacy? The tour made it seem the rooms are all open 😱
I would invade a country for a boat like this 😍
Beautiful.26.4.22.$5mil. Sunreef80 slightly bigger
Both are nice boats.
In the workshop in my company 3 workers have this Catamaran: they are enough satisfied
ok fine, i'll take two.
I can make that happen ;)
Would have liked to see it under sail.
Hi! You have to be honest. It's not a yacht, it's a landing stage with a sail.
How is this catamaran vs the sunreef 80?
I’m sure this is an, “if you have to ask…” type situation but roughly how much does this cost and how long is the build time?\
Great question. To build a new boat in the 75-80ft range will set you back between $6-9m USD
Nice ship! What does this cost?! Would love to rent this for a week or two... Great video!
I just looked it up. Saw a 5.5mm USD price tag on one.
Is it still wood cored?
Why is there no solar panels installed?
What is the retail price on one of these floaters?
I might just add one to the fleet.
You may have to queue up!
What are the bulkheads like?.
Wow
Pretty much sums it up.
I could probably afford one of those chairs.

can it with stand on high sea ?
One thing's for sure... you like your coffee! 😆
Yes I do ;)
No terrace on the water.. a must have.
can u wrap entire body with solar pannel ? how much would it be?
Love it how in America 'oversized' is a good thing. In England that means its too big
We love being oversized in America ;)
Great boat and video. Irrelevant question though: My wife and I always pause videos and try to figure out where it's at from maps. Our detective work places this video as shot at anchor in Little Harbor, Peter Island. Correct?
You got it!!!
@@catamarancentral As we went back to see this answer, we finally saw the location tag up under the video. Glad we got it without noticing it. Thanks for the reply. See you in a year or two for our cat purchase... a little smaller one perhaps.

This boat is insane, but i was wondering the sq feet
Its big that's for sure. I just spent the day onboard her.
How does this compare to the Sunreef?
Both are great boats, and both also have their issues.
Could this comfortably make an Atlantic crossing?
She's already done it in extreme comfort.
What about crews quarters?
