Another way to get your Scrap on Sylva is to put a Large Shredder and a Large Canister on your truck trailer and take a trip around the planet picking up all of the junk. Sure, you cant do that in 15 minutes. But it takes a lot less resources, you can gather a lot of other free stuff at the same time (all of my base lights, wind turbines and sola panels came from scrap hunting) and it really doesn't take a lot of time to gather the 400 scrap to fill the canister. Take some dynamite too to blow up the bigger bits. Oh! and it keeps you off the streets.
"Now that we're on Atrox..." Hey now, Atrox is good for a few things. When you want to take out your anger by blowing up a planet other than Desolo, getting helium, and the wrecks with their amazing stuff. So, yeah. Atrox sucks.

but there is a infinite soil glitch, it takes longer than this but you dont have to carve ugly lines through your planets, you just put a drill on a crane and drill at one of the gateway engines, it wont destroy anything but you will gain soil as if you where mining actual dirt.
Pro tip, use large storage silos, as they're relatively cheap, and stick storage for other resources that you gather while mining. Organic for the rest of your life.
I just auto mine Astronium, then automatically turn it in to jetpacks then automatically throw them in the extra large shredder and I get 1.3 scrap per Astronium, I also have an automated train bring the Astronium up when full and drop it off at my base so all my scrap needs are automated.
I also made a video on this in the past. Probably something I should make again but better. Also, you get 3 scrap for each astronium if you turn the astronium into solid fuel jump jets, not 1.3. :p
Something I started becoming intrigued(obssessed😆) with was "mobile base" rover setups. The one I was most proud of had the soil to scrap converter on board, but used three small shredders as they kept up with the centrifuge and could be placed-powered on a silo which gives more room for other functionality than having a large shredder. Made putting up mining stations in remote locations more fun because I'd drive up and most processing would happen on the spot. Did I save time compared to driving to and fro from a dedicated base? Probably not... but it kept my ADD brain on task much easier. 😂 And once I DID finally commit to a new large scale base, it was much easier to find a central location I was happy with. Might be a fun side project to do a "stranded survival" style vid where you deliberately strand yourself on a planet/moon by blowing your shuttle. Better off gunning for an O2 tank or get by on filters? Totally not a stupid idea at all. Time how long it takes to get off-planet again. Use your old tips too, like making sure you bring ONE aluminum, possibly a resin or copper for other reasons? Oh hey! Maybe some glowsticks! I bet *those* would be useful for survi~ *yeah no, I can't even joke about that, don't waste precious space on glowsticks.* 😂
Hmmm, with your only source of oxygen destroyed, I would gun for the soil centrifuge. It makes the trips for resin unnecessary, and can give you other rarer resources like clay without bothering to find it. Oxygen tanks are definitely a must, since they use up less space allowing for more resources. Well, all that assumes that oxygenators, vehicles and shuttles aren't allowed or provide oxygen. Small shuttle is as cheap as the soil centrifuge itself. Tbh that would be a cool mod, one that stops those things from providing oxygen. I would love it if the oxygenator was harder to craft, and shuttles and vehicles didn't provide oxygen without it. I would also love it if oxygenators took a lot of power, so oxygen tanks would be actually useful.
@@worldclassjerk-epicgamer Nice! Could just make it a checkpoint completion of crafting a local Soil Centrifuge and call that success. Because at that point, if you can't produce enough energy (biomass for small generators etc.) which then allows for soil to become resin-Oxy-then there may be no helping that person... 😏 I imagine the methods for each planet will vary, as having easy access to Iron on one planet and tungsten on the other might make certain unique strategies form where perhaps simply leaving the planet would be easier then establishing a stable means of power and/or O2. Glad you like it~
The arm that's supposed to be grabbing the canisters keeps reaching over to grab the printer and scrapping it. It doesnt matter how far away i try to place it from the printer. It keeps happening.
I don’t know if it can keep up with two centrifuges, but if you use the improved design I showed, you can probably just use it anyways. I don’t think the resin bugs out with the improved design.
I'm glad it allows me to make the game harder. When you only die because of your own stupidity (flying in circles on mountains with my hoverboard, then smacking into the cliffs), it can get boring.

"Now that we're on Atrox...", lol poor Atrox.
he ain't wrong though
Atrox is literal hell. Mine it all to the core and just put atmosphere condensers and a landing pad on it

Good job. I would throw a medium storage under the small printer head too, because I’m paranoid 😂

Do you know if this will still work?

That’s a good one.
Bro i am from turkey but i really like your videos (i dont like turkish videos a lot you are a special person)
Thank you. :D
Keeps shredding my printer as it’s printing how do I fix it?
You have to filter the auto arm to only pick up canisters by putting a canister on the slot in the very center of it.
I just auto mine Astronium, then automatically turn it in to jetpacks then automatically throw them in the extra large shredder and I get 1.3 scrap per Astronium, I also have an automated train bring the Astronium up when full and drop it off at my base so all my scrap needs are automated.

That’s actually a solid video idea. I might have to consider it.

i relate to the add part
My personal preference for scrap is auto extracting Tungsten and make flood lights. 1 canister of 400 Tungsten is worth 600 scrap
The arm that's supposed to be grabbing the canisters keeps reaching over to grab the printer and scrapping it. It doesnt matter how far away i try to place it from the printer. It keeps happening.
You have to place scrap in the center of the auto arm to filter it to only pick up scrap.
I placed my filled medium soil canister on the same platform as the soli centrifudge but it wont fill it up (i've tried both modes on the canister)
You need a small soil canister. It moves the soil.
Thanks! fixed it
@@worldclassjerk-epicgamer
Has this been balanced recently? I am not getting 1 scrap per canister :(
You get 0.25 scrap for each canister scrapped, but each soil canister full of soil allows you to craft 4 canisters.
I forgot I was putting medium canisters full of resin in to begin with and not soil, thanks for the quick response!@@worldclassjerk-epicgamer
Question if you already have an extra large shredder are you able to use that instead of two large sweaters?
I don’t know if it can keep up with two centrifuges, but if you use the improved design I showed, you can probably just use it anyways. I don’t think the resin bugs out with the improved design.

i dont know what to comment (pls help)
I don't understand.
ok
How do you make the printer print the canister automatically, I have to make it print manually everytime the auto arm places a resin on it
There's a blue button with rotating arrows. Make sure it is pressed.
