Really? I think they had one of the best love stories on TV. Carol only wanted to be married because it was tradition. Phil only wanted to be married for sex. Then Phil looked to dump her because someone better looking came along. Then went back because there was no one else. Then when Phil was thrown out of the group and Carol gave up everything for him, he realized what he had all along. In fact Carol became the only real thing about Phil. He would chop and change and be his normal selfish self about everything and everyone . Except for Carol. Everything he did for the others was done in a way to serve his selfish self. But everything he did for Carol was because he genuinely loved her. Their love was far greater and stronger than the marriages the others had.
