    How about you guys stop defending the online only “free” version first considering you all seem to completely ignore on how the “free” version isn’t actually free since gacha games are designed to be predatory by nature and encourage people to spend lots of money a single game while also ignoring the fact that if they weren’t making any money off on the free to play version then the services would’ve shut down years ago and there wouldn’t even be an offline single player version of the game at all.

They literally put the details on their page and even made recent interview videos discussing details on that the only things being removed in the offline version aside from pvp (which isn’t even a surprise) are the crossover content like street fighter, DMC and Monster Hunter stuff.
      “Doesn’t change that it’s rubbish”
      You wanna know what’s rubbish mr Aussie/Brit (or whatever you are not that I care anyways) the terrible gacha elements that are designed to milk players for money alongside the fact that the only reason why the “free” version lasted this long was because people kept paying real money and company was making profits from the game which is the only reason why the service didn’t end and they kept putting out content because of the money. Do you seriously believe if the company had not been making any money that they would have kept the game alive for this long? Get back to me on that one whenever you are ready.

    If anything, I'm proud to say that I did not fall prey to the Megaman gacha psyop. I'm probably not going to buy this version, though. Having the special costumes for holidays and promotions is one of the few interesting things it really had to offer to me, and now they'll be gone unless someone mods them in. There's always fan art...
    I have to wonder what Capcom's response to this will be. If it doesn't sell, will they think people don't have interest in Megaman X? If it does sell, will they try to push for more gacha in their products? Both are pessimistic options, but I, unfortunately, view this company with pessimism. I honestly thought that there'd be some announcement concerning the X franchise before it bit the dust.

      Yea its always a frustrating situation when it comes to supporting MegaMan. You either buy it, and it shows that Capcom can get away making games with minimal effort. Or you dont buy it and it shows Capcom that MegaMan doesnt sell so they continue to do nothing with the franchise. I always go with the first option, simply because at least theres a teensy tiny amount of hope that Capcom, with enough sales, will actually make a big budget MegaMan game.

    And keeping track of microtransactions is impossible.
    Now the game is properlly sold and they can keep improoving it.
    Just like no mans sky, day 1 was trash, but they kept building it up.

      Thing is, there's also the Regional Pricing issue that caused many Players to be priced out of reach.
      Note that SteamDB's Regional Pricing Listing for this game has the game literally OVERPRICED in all but just 3 European Countries (Norway, Poland & Switzerland) compared to Valve's Suggested Pricing for each country/region, some by as much as 290%!
      Also, rage over the the cut content has its roots traced back to the Online Version when the Devs CANCELLED rerun banners of the Sunbreak and DMC V Collab Characters that was supposed to arrive alongside their DNA Code installations, especially when the planned date and method of running said banners was datamined, only for them to be CANCELLED after Offline was announced in June.
      This was pretty devastating for players who saved up EMs for MONTHS just to be able to guarantee any one of those they missed out the first time through Pity Exchange, only to end up permanently shafted as a result of this unwarranted announcement, but the fact that these characters that they missed out permanently in Online are NOT going to be available in Offline by any means other than Fan MODs adds nitrous fuel to the raging flames of anger at the devs.
      Also, if there's anything "brand new" coming out of Offline that's not in Online, there's one. JUST ONE: A new Theme Song "Recognize" which will be available after you beat True ViA in Story Mode Chapter 20-6, sang by X DiVE Online's Music Composer "jun", that's it.

    Hmm.. 30 bucks. Cheaper than I was expecting
    Lets see... hundred or so of different characters to play
    Wide variety of weapons
    Butt loads of collectables, solid game with a fun story and the Gacha mechanic is gone.
    Sure it sucks the collabs are gone but thirty bucks for ALL of this, compared to how hard it is TO GET Alot of these in the regular game..
    30 dollars does not bother me.
    Also slight nitpick the updates to older games went to players who already bought the games.
    The majority of fans played X Dive on mobile phones... and while it is true a cheaper option for Offline Mobile could have been done, many of us [myself included] will probably be getting offline on steam on pc or for the Steam Deck.
    Would a discount have been cool? Yeah. Is it necessary? Not at all considering how expensive the "Flash packs", Bundles AND EM are in the vase game.

      I established that newer players are fine. But the big issue is that older players that already sunk in 3 YEARS WORTH of money and time get punished for playing the original. And older players also LOSE ALL THEIR DATA and are told that if they want to keep play, they have to cough up an additional 30 dollars just to start over.
      And once again, where's the gratitude for them already getting 45 MILLION DOLLARS from the original version?
      Its not only about the 30$. its about the ethics of selling the game for 30$.

      @belmontzar Рік тому

      @@megatroidvania9285 I can understand that point, but at the same time I cant help wanting to support this idea, because if this does well then other games may get the same treatment. The ethics is one thing, but which is better... loosing everything completely after years of play, or being able to start again with an easier slate? I do agree that giving long time players a discount code would have been a great idea. I also agree that updating the dead game into the offline version could have also workes to a degree. But im trying to look at a bigger picture as well. There are so many games I play daily that could just vanish, and I can say, with confidence that despite pouring hundreds into some of them over all.. having the option to pay 30 bucks and get to keep mygame, even if I need to start over, would be way better than seeing that server error screen

    Honestly, I’m happy for an offline version of a gacha game to “preserve” it and I do like this game.
    However, the loss of the Crossover Characters (I love my X Dante Trigger) and no p2p PvP and Co-Op sucks.
    And the price? I rather it be free. I’ll wait for a discount. Good thing it’s on Steam AND it’s made with Unity so I expect some good mods.

    I don't understand why the hate for the Offline version because I have test the online version for a while and I don't understand how people can still enjoy the online version despite there is several issue and nobody care. Despite it's a gacha game, the dev should let the players to unlock easily any characters for enjoy the game the best that they can since the official trailer promise that every players can play as their own favorite characters like Sigma, Vile, Magma Dragoon, Bit and more but the true is unlock those characters in the online mode is a big pain in the a*s. It's been few years that I'm into this games and I have never manage to unlock Sigma or Magma Dragoon because there is no shop for you can buy your own favorite characters in exchange of Metal Element so the only way to unlock a characters is to use those stupid capsules who give you random characters and even if you have already unlock a characters like Axl, when you use the capsules somes times later, you get another Axl despite you unlock it already (4 times I get the same A rank Axl so people don't say the capsule system in this game is perfect because it's a true garbage) and when we get the Dark Coins event with the store for get every characters we want, they are so f***ing expensive despite I never use Metal Element in capsule for keep a max of Metal Element for the Dark Coins event.
    And I don't forget about every time I try to play in co-op with a friends, every time I defeat a specific flying ennemy, the game crash and close with no way that I can finish the first level in co-op even if I try to do co-op level but alone without I meet a crash issue. That why if the offline version be release and if they have fix all those borring issue from the online version like made playable characters more easy to unlock and without any crash when you play a level, I would definitively enjoy more the offline version than the garbage online mode despite its not free but I think it would worth it to have a game who is finally fixed unlike the online mode. Plus maybe we will be able to mods the offline version for add more custom Mega Man characters instead it's another useless X or Zero with just a alternate skin for the online version instead it's be a new playable characters like Napalm Man, Needle Man, Storm Eagle and more but, another good thing about the offline mode is, I don't gonna have to deal with any of those salty players that I meet before into somes guild in the online mode and who act like a jerk or be into a drama story i don't know what with others people.

      Simply put, there hasn't been a new console Megaman game since 11 in 2018. Most Mega Man fans probably didn't want this game in the first place and are annoyed that Capcom isn't doing much with Mega Man aside from collections.
      Releasing the game as an offline version is nice but the price is admittedly a bit steep.

That why if Nintendo release another console, half of people (include me) don't gonna buy the next console if it's for support Nintendo who do the same mistake again but I'm gonna buy it only if they release a new Star Fox, Metroid, Smash Bros or Zelda game.

I played a little bit of X Dive online and thought it was fun, but there were a LOT of currencies to balance and grinding if you wanted to play free. However, I do agree that longterm players are getting shafted and that's bad. But it was a gacha game. Gacha games exist purely to screw you over, so that's pretty much what you signed up for. So I guess I'd say I'm like 95% okay with this release now.

      And while at it, you can also get additional perk of saving precious hard-earned money to spend on REAL Mega Man-like Platformers made and published by deserving INDIE Devs (such as "BatteryStaple" and "Domesticated Ant" just to name two!) that do put in fan-recognizable efforts to respect the players' time and money spent as well as player feedback, way better than any major developer/publisher. I seen they can do better with their best selling games. so they can make effort with this one. I mean 2nd they cancel some megaman games like megaman legends 3. third no effort in megaman x dive whatsoever. the gameplay isnt bad its just lack of events, we dont have certain characters like the fire and the ninja dude four guardians. and also the way one guy left from capcom according to alphomaegasin... I mean... also... dragon quest 4-5 15 dollars and way better. and same goes with mobile final fantasy tactics. but anyways its like u said though. its up to people if they want to buy it. but at least they should make it 9-15 dollars. I could understand if they made a major difference and theres some good things like mabe we can have a special character or something. or more events and etc. cause just taking away the pvp and yet everything the same for 30 bucks.... I dont know what to say... but like I said I get it for game content and to use lev but still and Megatroid Vania? u going to get the game if not who here getting offline its coming tommorw

    My read on the situation is that most Mega Man fans just do _not_ realize the state of the brand. There's a good reason why we got Mega Man X Dive, which aside from being a low budget knockoff of Contra Returns, also happens to have a _serious_ amount of fanservice normally uncharacteristic of Mega Man thrown into a game. My read of it is that Capcom has been so battered by unironically ignorant fan backlash, that the company barely sees any hope with ever mending the divide. What the vocal fans want is always going to be impossible, and anything new they put out seems to always have the flaws put before the qualities.
    All of this is because of a relationship broken over entitlement issues that span over a decade at this point. Once the flood of games subsided, the entitlement began. Once Legends 3 was cancelled, the base broke and has never really recovered since. Even though cancelling games is especially hard on devs, MM fans seem dead set on absolutely not _forgiving_ (key word) Capcom, even though what Capcom needs to earn forgiveness for was a horrible misreading of reality to begin with. Legends 3 was not greenlit, and never was.

      interesting, I disagree with the fan stuff. Everyone liked MegaMan 11! its even the most sold mainline game! and the collections are also doing well! The reason why we're getting hit with Gachas and NFTs is that megaman is just not making enough. Megaman sells millions, But Capcom wants MULTI MILLIONS! When you look at sales from Monster Hunter and Resident Evil and compare it to Megaman, they just dont even want to bother. And thats why we get all this minimal effort stuff, because they don't think it sells well enough.

    • @FusionArmorX
      @FusionArmorX Рік тому

      @@megatroidvania9285 That kind of arrogance is exactly what got the brand into this situation to begin with, and exactly why I lay some of the blame on a sect of the fandom. You don't see this level of hostility towards the IP owners even within the _Sonic_ fandom of all things.
      Sure, Mega Man 11 has sold 1.6 million as of June of 2023, and that suggests the game is mildly popular. But, the game came out in 2018, and one look at SteamDB (though not the only source) shows that there were a lot of _deep_ discounts to get to that point on PC alone, and that was on top of the effectively default half-off price of $30 _and_ not counting the sales done on other platforms, as well as at retail!
      As you said, Mega Man isn't holding strong against things like Resident Evil, Street Fighter, and Monster Hunter. Is it any surprise, then, that Capcom gives it second-class treatment for what is effectively second-class performance? If Mega Man 11 was so widely beloved and accepted then why are its sales so low to the rest of the franchise relatively? Don't fall for the "but it sold 1.6 million", that doesn't translate to Capcom making a ton of cash off of it. I reiterate: $30 launch price, and _deep_ discounts. It doesn't matter how well built 11 is, if the numbers don't show that there's a base worth catering to, then that's that.
      It does not help when a sect of the community goes out of its way to attack Capcom for even trying in the first place. Not saying that you're full on part of that, though.

      @FusionArmorX Рік тому

      @@gunvolt5246 The thing about the ignorance is that fans gloss over the oversaturation and blame Capcom for not keeping pace. Ever since then, the fans have always said that the problem is exclusively on Capcom, and have failed to hold themselves accountable for their _contributions_ to the current state of the brand, most notably the near 10-year gap in releases.
      - The Legends 3 Prototype Version was never going to be something Capcom used to judge whether or not the full game would be deveoped. _There was nothing on the Devroom that suggested that was the case, in fact the release on eShop was contingent upon the game being already greenlit for development.
      - Street Fighter X Mega Man was an unprecedented move by any gaming company, in actually taking a fan project _itself_ and working with its' creator to make it official. The fanbase, however, basically ripped the effort to shreds because it wasn't the vague thing they called a _good_ Mega Man game.
      - While I'm at it, Street Fighter X Tekken. The appearance of Mega Man was the result of Inafune asking producer Yoshinori Ono to be original, and the fans basically slammed the effort because they interpreted what was basically a parodic mix of Legends and Classic lore _to be an attack on them!._
      - Finally, Rockman X-Over. Regardless of what you think of the game's sprite design, the backlash to this game was so strong that Capcom SVP Christian Svensson publicly announced in an Ask Capcom thread that the game would _not_ be coming to the US.
      Ever since 2013, Capcom has not been able to produce _anything_ major related to Mega Man without whatever resulting product being nitpicked for malicious intent. You might not see it upfront on the major community side of things, but the attitudes _absolutely_ still exist. Right now, there's another unprecedented thing happening: A live service gacha game is doing a dedicated offline release that can stand on its own indefinitely, and much of the Mega Man community are ready to find reasons to complain.
      And all of it is because of the ignorance of the fanbase itself, in just how badly they've sabotaged the brand globally. Their continued hostility towards Capcom for trying any Mega Man project makes the brand inherently difficult to work with, thus justifying safe bet releases like collections and low budget gacha games. If Capcom tried anything else, _the fans would kill them._
