I understand that in the past clubs took advantage of players but that was no where near as a bad compared to how agents have really ruined some footballers careers and made it so difficult for clubs.
With so many top leagues having such strong PFA representation I honestly feel footballers can go back to a time where agents didn't exit because now clubs have lost the ability to pull the wool over a players eyes or make it hard for him at the club.

He was never a £89M player in the first place and people who signed him for that money are idiots and now they know they are, as he hasn't done anything in those years to earn that enormous signing. He was instrumental in getting rid of Jose as his manager, who knew he was a lazy player, who needed a kick in the back, to get him performing on the pitch, Ole is too polite to do that. Jose took revenge with his new club and thrashed Man U in their own yard in their last meeting in the league.

Free speech is one thing, codes of professional conduct is another. I can't rant about certain things at work. An agent stirring up shit like this is in a way a conflict of interest: he got his money from Man Utd and is now working against them so he can get another transfer fee. The problem with Pogba and selling him on, or not as the case may be, is that he's on £290k p/w, wages he arguably hasn't earned. So, in selling him on, he will probably expect the same or an improvement and United will probably expect to get a return or better on the £89.3m we spent on him. And in terms of his performances over a 4 year period, he just hasn't been in that league. So in order to get the money he expects, he'll probably wait for his contract to expire.

Let's not forget that Man United backed Pogba rather than the Manager that had just won them three trophies - the Europa League, the Carabao Cup, and the Community Shield. So, even after Jose was kicked out Pogba never applied himself to the job. If some MU fan added up how miuch time Pogba didn't play, being on the bench or injured, when you apply the 385,000 wage bill pert week I bet you will find that his 'Time per playing minute' and 'Cost per goal' are the highest ever in football history.

Part of it could be solved by capping agent fees on player transfers and players paying them a standard rate or fixed deduction from their contract earnings.
Another way to stop these agents is to not listen to them, not republicise their statements and not even respond to questions about them. Thus, not giving them the attention they crave to start divisive situations that often lead to them profiteering.

Football clubs should just refuse to sign any player managed by him. Let contracts run down, stick them in reserves until the contract expires. Footballer at a young age as they get to the point of contract negotiating above youth level should be educated on how to do so, so we don't have these 3rd parties having too much power and influence over their careers and decision making. Eg Fullbacks don’t always make good centre backs and vice versa. He clearly showed what he could do in Italy and also for the French team. There is a system that works and gets the best out of him and he was one of the best players at the World Cup as a result and helped France win the tournament. He’s being played in central midfield when he’s not a great defender in transition which is why France played Kante alongside and that resolved that issue and allowed Pogba to thrive in his more natural position. Fred , mctominay and matic are not Kante players. I’m not objecting to him leaving to help with a solution but I’m saying the problems the squad has is not all on him when the defence and strikers are inconsistent and the coaching isn’t good enough

I think it is unprecedented for agents like Mino Riola to be disturbing, disrupting, clubs or teams. They must be cautioned in interfering with players ability to perform especially with negative narrative on players with clubs and media. This will hinder both clubs and players, so the Premier league Association must set standards for these agents like Mino Riola who seeks nothing for that poor boy and family but a yardstick to enrich himself. But the Pogba's Family needs to help their child or else they will regret it. As the saying goes 'when you load in an ungrateful boat, you'll land in a regret wharf.

At this point I think the majority of United fans just want him out. Until last year I would of been first in line to defend Pogba, but not now. Bruno has done more in 10/11 months than what Pogba has in 4 seasons with us. Pogba's performances have been nowhere near good enough. We have not missed him when he's not played because he's been so underwhelming overall anyway. It's time to cut the cord and get rid. Then never deal with him (Raiola) again. Good Riddance.

I have zero trouble with Simon's argument. It's a simple issue made complicated only by Pogba's reluctance to tell his agent to sit the fuck down and keep his yap shut.
Look at players over the years in the Prem who have caused clubs all kind of headaches through their off field antics etc...the main 2 I can think of are Cantona, Di Canio...both of these players were never dropped or left on the bench at their clubs...they played every week because they were world class...Pogba avgs fuck all games per season since he has been back, is getting even less time now that Fernandes is there. Pogba is a 9 or a 5 player...Fernandes is an 8 every week player....even Van de Beek is a 7 a game if they bloody played him. Overhyped, overpriced, overrated are the only words I think of for Pogba...if you have someone like Kante doing all the work a midfielder should and let Pogba walk around for 85minutes than yeah you might get 5 minutes of brilliance....I would pass on a player like that every season and Fergie knew it.
