Where is your accent from?
I was born and raised in the Netherlands, studied English Literature at Leiden University (also in the Netherlands), studied in the US for 3 months and had lots of American friends, hence the weird accent. No, I'm not Irish, Canadian, etc.
Where do you live?
I live in London and have been here for 3.5 years now.
Where do you work?
I'm a Social Media Producer at Penguin Random House UK.
How did you get into publishing?
I did publishing work experience on 3 different occasions, did a lot of networking and learned everything I know about social media from creating and running this channel for 7 years. (P.s. You don't necessarily have to study Publishing or English to get a job in publishing!).
Can you review my book?
I can't guarantee that I will, but if you'd like to get in touch, please take a look at my review policy on the 'About' page of my channel.
Marion's lip color is perfection. I especially love these types of vlogs!
I LOVE THIS PROJECT I can't believe you've done this for five years! Sanne, all the hugs and congratulations for finishing all videos once more.
I really liked this one, but I also always love when you and Rosianna talk about how to deal with adult stuff.
I really liked all the videos you made with Rosianna, but that's probably because I love both of you, and I think you guys exemplify a healthy friendship!
the videos I liked most were the ones on book covers (especially the one about the different book cover finishes) and screens & pixels (:
love these kind of walk around videos. Your vlogs are great. Thanks for all it inspiring information about words and art and books. last week I bought a packet of Baby's Breath seeds to plant in our vegetable garden. I hope they grow. Here in Northern Calif. we have had several inches of rain over night. Guess the rain is supposed to happen for a few more days and we are all doing a happy dance.
I really loved your surviving your 20s with Rosianna, I found a lot of new subscriptions from your youtubers that you love vid, and your travel videos are always aesthetically pleasing, screens and pixels, how to be organized because I love being organized and listening to other people talk about it is always nice, and I really enjoyed your videos about book cover finishes because I learned new things and your what's in your bag video! I tried to restrain myself from only mentioning a few but it was hard!
Dark Sugar is one of the most delightful places I've even been!! It just radiates positive energy ☺️
I really liked all of your February videos! Especially the vlogs and the one about Valentine's Day Reads :-)
This type of video was one of my faves, actually! I like the informal, chatty vibes and being able to see a bit of lovely London. I also loved the surviving your 20s videos with Rosianna because adulting is hard.
The videos with Rosianna about surviving 20s and managing time, and also the vloggy videos were my favourites :)
I loved the videos with Rosianna - you two should start a "Lifestyle Management" channel together! Also loved the video about your Penguin English Library collection. They are such beautiful editions!
I really enjoyed your video about book finishes, as well as six Dutch words you love! :D Thanks for all the work you've put in, Sanne!
This video was so visually appealing. I loved the colour palette and some of the shots were just gorgeous. Also I need a rainbow bagel.
I was so happy with this vlog! I love to see bits of London with a rainbow bagel + history facts.
I always love your out and about travel videos! I'm from America, so it's really interesting getting to see snippets of the U.K. You visit some of the loveliest places and I know I'll reference your vlogs someday when I get to visit Europe!
Surviving your 20s videos were definitely my favourite... so much useful information
I love the surviving your 20s, and this style travelling vlog :)
The what's in my bag was my ABSOLUTE favorite ❤️
I really liked the Surviving your twenties video and what's in my bag (btw: I'm completly in love with your bag!!) and the youtuber recommendations (such great youtubers ;)). Hope you have a nice day :)
i loved the book cover ones!
Favourite Helmikuu videos were this one and the one in Brighton. I love videos when you go out and about; your editing is always lovely. :D
My favorite video was probably the UA-camr recommendations! I love hearing UA-camrs I like talk about UA-camrs they like. Helped me find some really great channels!
I loooved Helmikuu 2016! My favourite videos were 'How to Get Organised & Get Shit Done' and the Snapchat Q&A. Also, the video about book covers was very insightful. Greetings from Finland! xoxo
I liked your videos about book covers and colabs with Rosianna most of all this February!
I actually really like these kind of videos where you show a bit of the city or also your pixel-fevourite-stuff-video (sorry, couldn't think of the real title) bc it gives me an idea of what to do when I come to London....and I also really enjoyed the ones where you give kinda an inside view on publishing
I definitely enjoyed Helmikuu! I loved all of them, but my favorites were the blogs, the videos about book cover finishes and the Snapchat Q&A. Also, I would love if you made a video about your tips for vlogging, particular vlogging in public. It's something I would like try to do more often, but I'm not very good at it!
I always love your London vlogs Sanne! And I can't believe I've never been to the Columbia Rd Flower Market yet! x
the videos with rosi about surviving your 20s were great!
helmikuu! always the best time of the year :) as far as favorite videos go, mine from the last month was the guide to book cover finishes. I liked the first line challenge with Rosi too and I wish that one had gone on longer!
Hi Sanne! I can't believe I just discovered you. I specifically love your what's in my bag video & surviving your 20s with Rosianna. Please make more of those! :)
I loved the youtuber recommendations, because now I adore the people that you mentioned.
I'm going to London for a short holiday in May and everything in this video looked so lovely that I think I'll have to re-trace your footsteps and try to find the flower market, Dark Sugar, and Beigel Bake - yum!
I was watching this and was so confused by my deja vu because I was like "Oh my goodness... I've seen Marion get those flowers. HOW DO I KNOW THIS INFORMATION" and was really excited/overwhelmed by my sudden psychic abilities only to then remember I follow you on snapchat now.
also you both look absolutely beautiful in this!
I love these vlogs the mosttttt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
My favourite video of this February is probably 'Six Dutch Words I Love.' or the 'First Sentence Challenege | with Rosianna.' Also that hot chocolate looks amazing.
Ah rainbow bagels are so pretty!
This answers so many questions!!!
Yes, the north part of Brooklyn is obsessed with the rainbow bagels while the rest of us down south think it's ridiculous. Also, I love your out-and-about vlogs when you're solo. Don't get me wrong, I love these too!! But watching you vlog solo...in public...it inspires me to stop caring of what of what other ppl think of me while I attempt to be a fraction as good a vlogger as you are.
I have to say this: the funniest thing happened when I went with my classmates to a Bachata and Latin music bar in Santiago de Compostela ( Spain) and right at the entrance I saw the full picture that you use in these videos. No one understood why I was laughing so bad, but it actually was the oddest place to find an (unintended) reference to my favourite youtuber ;)
As they say:" big fan of your work".
your videos with rosianna were GREAT!
I love videos where you and Marion goof around the most. Oh, also the one about book covers. I feel like there's so much you know about publishing that just completely eludes me. Are you planning on making more of those?
Great video - congratulations on getting to the end of your project again! I've really enjoyed all of your vids- but particularly enjoyed the one about the different types of book cover finishes. Please can I have a hot chocolate now? Lx
loved your how to survive your twenties video! also any videos about doing stuff in london :D
It was a really good surprise when I saw how many times you uploaded. I though you had a new upload schedule but now I know.
Love how frequent you're posting videos nowadays! ☺️☺️
Anything with Rosianna is great, but I also love these types of videos, more vlog-like! Happy Helmikku ;)
I love the surviving your 20s videos you did this month!
Loved the video on strong female characters! The one on book finishes was excellent as well. ^^
I know I'm kind of late, but when I was in London and saw those rainbow bagels in Brick Lane I thought they looked so artificial that only my eyes wanted them. My tummy didn't :D but it's so nice to see those familiar parts of Brick Lane. aaaand Brick Lane bookshop is so nice, especially its stuff. I want to go back and visit the street again.
i really enjoyed the "how to get organised" and "how to survive your 20s" vids - more please! :)
so sad that helmikuu is over now...
Super leuk! En ik heb weer wat plekken om toe te voegen aan m'n lijstje voor als ik weer eens naar London ga.
My favourites were probably your advice on surviving your 20s vlogs with Rosianna - they made me start watching your channel at all actually, when Rosianna mentioned in Space Camp there would be more of them on your channel.
The one about book cover finishes and the how to survive your twenties! :)
How fun!
Actually recognized quite a few shots in this video from your instagram, hahaha. This video was very aesthetically pleasing.
I have a strange love for what's in my bag videos, also loved the how to survive your 20's. But honestly I am just generally interested in your opinion, so reviews or any discussion type of video I like watching :)
I love all of the videos! :D
Penguin classics (was it in February?) was nice, so many covers to see.
Loved this video! And Helmikuu is the best.
My favourites were the surviving your 20s and the ones about how covers work.
Could you please do a video on your favourite bookshops in London? I'm visiting at the end of this month and I would really like some inspiration of bookshops to visit! (Sorry if you have done a video on this topic before but I don't think I've seen one). Lots of love for you & your channel and I hope you're having a lovely day xx
Loved this👍🏻
LOL I always thought it was something deeply cultural but it's like "it sounded funny in Finnish" 😂
Also, the book cover ones!
Hello! A Finnish person here!
Literally helmikuu means "pearl moon". Moon=old word for month. I think it's my favourite after joulukuu (christmas moon).
Fijn dat je het 'Helmikuu' even hebt uitgelegd. ik hoorde het wel steeds aan het einde van de video's, maar ik had geen idee wat het was. :D En wat betreft je vraag: Vlogs FTW!
as a finn i wondered about the "helmikuu" at the end of you videos and went as far as to look if it is the same in dutch, but now i know the reason! i guess it's a funny word, i'm just so used to it probably. :D but love your videos!
I liked your video about how books cover work, im gonna hopefully be studying publishing this September so would love to see more videos like that and hear about your job. i also liked whats in my bag, was nice for you to do a more personal video like that. (not that whats inside your bag is that personal, but its just a bit more of an insight into you as a person you know? no? okay bye.)
I loveeee your vlogs :)
Now I know another finnish word, yaaay! I'm currently trying to learn some Finnish since I will be living there for the next year xx
+Karla K. Finnish is crazy! I've been living here for 8 months and I only know basic words, everyone speaks english here :)
i love your vlogs but i just wish they were longer like 10 minutes or more :)
So cool that you chose finnish cause I'm finnish.
very very cute !! i love you
I always thought Helmikuu meant goodbye because you say it at the end of your videos... I sort of started saying Helmikuu to friends as a cutesy way of saying goodbye and so now I'm realising I've been just saying "February".
I loved ur vlog and the ones u did with rosianna. Why is her friend carrying around flowers the whole time? Their soo pretty tho omg. I have never heard of rainbow bagels. R they good they look kinda gross. I love ur vlogs so much I wish they were longer.
Haha what else are you supposed to do after you've bought them?
booksandquills Oh she bought them then and there I thought she had them before idk. Omg u replied! *screams* love ur videos their booktube but unique.
What lipstick is Marion wearing? Its so pretty I need to know!
Also found the ""How do book covers work?" video really interesting :)
February in Swedish is "februari" ;)
So no for the ultimate question why February to try a VEDA?
+Jason Cromwell Because I didn't know anyone else who did it in February and it was a really convenient month for me when I was still at University!
I'm American and I'm sad to say I've never heard of rainbow bagels :(
You may have heard this before, I can't imagine I'm the first person to say this, but you look a bit like Julianne Moore. SImilar eyes I think!
Finnish person here and I can affirm that our language is damn right ridiculous.
i loved the book cover ones!
