well done 'like lovers do' absolutely wonderful compilation of clips of the (very young) beautiful and always excellent Max Riemelt (Friedrich) and i'm so sorry i don't know who Albrecht is played by and would like to see him in other productions, of the way you can be sucked in to doing wrong by propaganda and 'the need to appear macho', especially in such an organisation as Hitler Youth. MILITARY CADETS This film reminds me of my time in military school, but without the bloodshed. The only harm I witnessed at the military academy was during annual bivouac war games in the field and woods. The Defenders in Blue fought against the Aggressors in Red. Another Defender cadet next to me with other Defenders were being attacked by some of the Aggressor cadets and was hit by an incendiary explosive device and had to be carried on a stretcher to a hospital; and we captured some Aggressor cadets during the skirmish, and as I held my rifle pointing at him after I had disarmed him, he grabbed the barrel of my Garrand M-1 to pull it from my hands, and I shot him in the arm. I obeyed an imperative rule: Never let anyone take your M-1 from you.
@@Archy_Elyn A few of the cadets were fond of each other, but public display was forbidden. The two-story barracks had communal showers on each floor that were accessible 24/7. Some cadets would visit the showers late at night but not take a shower. If a cadet was caught masturbating, he would have to wear a white, cotton, dress uniform glove for the next 24 hours to all of his classes and group activities to humiliate him. Of course, the public punishment did not stop the practice but increased every cadet's vigilance. :-)
