Did you just take one of my favorite songs from the game and made it ten times cooler? Seriously, this is so epic and beautiful. You just made my day better, thank you
You're very welcome! I'm glad you enjoyed this. This is actually part of a long DKC2 medley I made a few years ago that contains most of the soundtrack. ^_^
DKC 1, 2 & 3 were some of my very first videogames, along with Super Mario games. Next month I will be 30 years old, and yet did you not only manage to bring back wonderful memories but also remind me of how tremendously special those soundtracks were. I have played some instruments and sung as well hence I now know how to appreciate their deeper values, which I was unable to when being so young. Thank you for your great work, and keep it up; you got some very special talent, all of your compositions are marvellous and fantastic.
Wow this hit me right in the nostalgia! DKC2 will always be a masterpiece! You took my favourite track from the game and made it so beautiful and haunting! 🥰
I love your remixes. You really understand and expand on the source material's essence rather than just mixing up notes. Excellent work! David Wise would be proud!

This track always transported me just as much as Aquatic Ambiance and Stickerbrush Symphony, but it doesn't seem to get quite as much love. Really glad to see this mix! :)
This is my first time finding a remix from this channel. Happy to see the creator didn't disappoint when it came to one of my most favorite VG tracks from childhood. 😊
Rebeca, tuas produções são incríveis. Causam-me grande sentimento de nostalgia e ao mesmo tempo parecem me introduzir em um universo mágico e cheio de mistérios.
What if Candy Kong was the Scientific Impetus of the Kong's Mandate of the Heavens to reinstitute the technological capabilities of the Spaceballs Wreckage
Thanks! I'm not sure where the Dixie art is from (couldn't source it) but as soon as I know, I'll link to it. The other part is a photo of a real crystal cave.
Very nice one way or another. I always found it interesting that for some reason this track had been left off of the original soundtrack. Strange, as it was one of my favorites.
Haven't heard a version this good since the Burning Idol version (Just don't watch the video if you're susceptible to seizures). I'd definitely put it on a play list with Vincent Rubinetti's version of Lockjaw's Saga.
Are you releasing a whole album? Or just a single 15-25 minute medley? Or maybe a whole album? Not saying I have a preference or anything, but if you wanted to release a whole album of your DKC covers, that'd be great. Also, yeah, Mining Melancholy has always been my favorite. Which is weird to say, as DKC2 has so many other tracks - Jib Jig, Lockjaw's Saga, Castle Crush, and Flight of the Zinger - that would probably be my favorite on any other soundtrack. Add Jungle Hijinx, Fear Factory, and Aquatic Ambience to the picture, and I'm just flummoxed why these games aren't given more love, soundtrack-wise. I haven't done the research, but I wonder how they made cartridge-based OSTs sound so damn good. Was a 16-bit sound chip every bit the equal of a CD in quality, or....well, yeah, I guess it's easy enough to just assume David Wise, Uematsu, as well as CD-era-composers like Michiru Yamane and Yasunori Mitsuda, etc. WERE just gods. I can believe they pushed the technology to the bleeding edge. EDIT: It's gonna be out in just "a day or so"? I'm officially on pins and needles!
Well, David Wise actually pushed the SNES to its absolute limits! In particular, two tracks (Aquatic Ambience and Stickerbrush Symphony) required Rareware to pioneer new technology! :D It's no wonder those two are the most popular, hehe! Actually (as you're likely aware) Rare were pioneers on the graphical front! DKC 1-3 are for the SNES what Majora's Mask and Wind Waker are for the N64 and Gamecube in terms of using the game engine to its full capacity while still being taught and playable. :3 This subject gets me excited, haha! Anyway! I'm gald that you're looking forward to my medley. ^_^ Just doing the ice track at this very moment! I took a break to look at comments.
Oh, the pleasure's all mine. I knew who Yamane was....a long, long time ago...way back in the day. Symphony of the Night was one of the most mind-blowingly, (ear)bone-shatteringly awesome soundtracks I've heard, one of the last crazy discoveries for me before I lost interest in mainstream gaming. I only played through the game once, but I bought the soundtrack straightaway (back when that was a really, really horrifyingly dorky thing to do), and I still have it. Though I ripped it long ago and have kept it as mp3s, because a diskman has no place in this brave new world. I understand Stickerbrush Symphony is beloved, but I don't know why it isn't one of my favorites. But I love hearing that it's the official Aquatic Ambience of the best game in the series, in that it really did push the developers to improve the whole game (the whole system?) in order to fulfill the composer's vision. That's a beautiful thought for me. It would probably seem crazy to most people today to put VGM on such a pedestal like it was Spector's "Wall of Sound", but I've been doing that since 1990, when I learned to play "Katyusha" on the piano by ear simply by memorizing a musical version of the folk tune from "Super Dodge Ball" on the NES. This post has reached terminal dorkiness and shall immediately conclude. P.S. Oh, one more thing, I love that you chose a Dixie image for this track. This is her game. The game may be named for him, but Diddy was SO the Kiddy of DKC2. It's all about the hair, and the SMB2 Princess glide. And the guitar.
Terminal dorkiness? Haha! I like that term! I think we see eye to eye. I had a similar childhood, I think! ^^ Yeah. That guitar was amazing! Haha! Though I liked the boom box, too.
Some people think there´s no complex stuff in videogames but Donkey Kong 2 had a great soundtrack and this song is my favourite. Where did you get the chants from ?
I was never able to properly source that one. I wish I could, since people have asked. It was a small picture of Dixie Kong in the mine, and the rest is a photo of some real-life crystal caves. I used some filters over them to make it all look consistent.
