I had the pleasure of riding in the back of one of these vehicles on Camiguin Island in 2019. They were being used there as taxis. The ride was way more comfortable and much more fun than a trike. When the time comes I'll be looking for one of the Indian made tuk tuks when I settle in the Philippines. There's no way I will be buying anything made in China after what they've done to the world.

Are there in quality issues or known issues with these tuk tuks? like the engine or drive train and wheels? I need something this Covid nightmare... we have zero public transportation in Laguna and the trike drivers sure charge us extra with little patience.
The only issue that there was, was a problem with the fuel gauge however our mechanic discovered adding an extra ground wire solved the problem, all new ones now come with the extra ground. There is a TVS King in the UK that is 11 years old we have just supplied parts for them but it is just things like a gear shift cable, so nothing major. I am 6' 1" and it is a little hard to get in the TVS and hit the brake without hitting the handle bars. Is there anything that can be done for taller drivers. I have an ape now and have enjoyed driving it for the past 3 yrs. I would love to have a little more speed at times.
Got an American Friend that is about 6ft 4inces who has a TVS King and he manages it OK. The only time I have a problem is when I am doing a tight turn and I have got in the habit of flopping my leg to the side when I turn tight.
Hi I am from india I don't know how Bajaj lost may be something issue with this rickshaw because here in India always Bajaj has more pickup compared to tvs rather being a South Indian where tvs is manufactured I prefer Bajaj because of my experience driving this rickshaw for almost 27 years
TVS King are more durable, they have less rust. 3 months of rainy season and I had to underseal my Bajaj as it was starting to rust, 2 rainy seasons and my TVS is showing no signs of rust. I know of TVS King that are 12 years old and still on the road and still look good. As for fuel-efficient we tested it on the same run over the distance with the same weight. There was no difference between the Bajaj and the TVS. The fake claim that TVS King is not as fuel-efficient was a conclusion that was put out by people that are not very clever after we proved the performance of the TVS King was better, and they simply presumed if it was faster it must use more fuel, when the truth is it is faster because TVS have designed a better performing engine and geared it better for performance. The Hajaj was built for reliability not speed. It has been used for a long time on the roads of India by Pedicab drivers. It is a proven vehicle. Just like if you were to put a Toyota Corolla against a newer Chinese car. The newer Chinese car will almost certainly beat it, but chances are, in 10 years the Chinese car will be sitting in the scrap heap and the corolla will still be chugging along. I'm sure that Chinese cars will improve, but for now, just like the King Auto rickshaw, they are of unknown reliability.
TVS is not like any chinese companies. They are the second largest exporter of three wheelers in India with export to over 60 countries. They make good quality vehicles. In terms of reliability they are second to none.
THE TVS King is not Chinese made it is made by TVS which is an Indian company that is part British owned. The TVS King is not new by any means in fact it is 13 years old and many of the original ones are still on the road.

Build quality of Bajaj is very top notch , like Bajaj Pulsar , Discover 125 , Platina 110 , RE Auto rickshaw these products are very reliable and rough and tough . Day by day they proved their reliability. TVS is also a good brand but parts price is bit higher than Bajaj. But TVS makes good engines too. TVS Apache 4v , Apache 160 , Raider 125 , Metro Plus these are very popular now a days. People running apache 1lakh(10 million ) km without changing its vital engine parts , Clutch or anything.
Can't go wrong with either. If not from India, do check the availabilty of service and repairs. Also, I understand that in some states in USA, neither of them are allowed on roads .ie. only as off roaders.

I agree the TVS engine is noisier but not by much, as for comfort I find the TVS much more comfortable. For me I like the fact you sit higher in the TVS I guess it depends on your size.

The TVS King Deluxe has a 199cc engine, not 225cc. The Maxima despite its bigger engine would not come close to a TVS King as the Maxima's top speed is just 60kph compared to the King which does 85kph.
We have done lots of tests with both and TVS came out top on all of them. The TVS is 12 years old and we know of TVS units that are over 10 years old and still running and still in good condition.

@@johnyosu3066 The TVS King is in fact 199.26cc. It is normal to round it up to 200cc like the Honda CB200X is called 200cc but is in fact 184.4cc, it has been the way of doing it for years. back in the 1970s the Lambretta GP 200 was classed as 200cc but was 198cc.
I own a Bajaj RE but have spent 2 months testing the TVS king and in every case, it beats the Bajaj RE by a long way. The acceleration of the TVS King compared to a Bajaj RE shocked me as it accelerates so fast.

Really haha. I am the driver of the Bajaj and I have over 5 million kilometers of driving experience and have been trained by a driver from VW rally team. The Bajaj was at full throttle so unless you know some magic way to make it go past full throttle it is nothing to do with the driver.

The TVS King Deluxe has a 199cc engine, not 225cc. The Maxima despite its bigger engine would not come close to a TVS King as the Maxima's top speed is just 60kph compared to the King which does 85kph.

We have done lots of tests with both and TVS came out top on all of them. The TVS is 12 years old and we know of TVS units that are over 10 years old and still running and still in good condition.

@@johnyosu3066 The TVS King is in fact 199.26cc. It is normal to round it up to 200cc like the Honda CB200X is called 200cc but is in fact 184.4cc, it has been the way of doing it for years. back in the 1970s the Lambretta GP 200 was classed as 200cc but was 198cc.

I own a Bajaj RE but have spent 2 months testing the TVS king and in every case, it beats the Bajaj RE by a long way. The acceleration of the TVS King compared to a Bajaj RE shocked me as it accelerates so fast.

Really haha. I am the driver of the Bajaj and I have over 5 million kilometers of driving experience and have been trained by a driver from VW rally team. The Bajaj was at full throttle so unless you know some magic way to make it go past full throttle it is nothing to do with the driver.
