- Former Metropolitan Police Detective Peter Bleksley says full-time protection for Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, and their family would be “shockingly expensive”, questioning whether they could afford it.
Prince Harry has lost his High Court challenge against the Home Office over a decision to change the level of his taxpayer-funded personal security when he visits the UK.
The Duke of Sussex took legal action against the Home Office over the February 2020 decision of the Executive Committee for the Protection of Royalty and Public Figures (Ravec) that he should receive a different degree of protection when in the country.
Retired High Court judge Sir Peter Lane rejected the duke’s case and concluded Ravec’s approach was not irrational nor procedurally unfair.
Peter says: “This is a crushing blow to Prince Harry!”

I guess he forgot about the Sandringham Summit. He gave up a lot of things - but he knew that would happen. Speaking professionally (retired American counterpart of Inspector Blecksley), if there is a threat to Harry it's 95% because of who & what his father is... not because of what he did/didn't do. Any "threat" would likely be politically motivated (e.g. like the days of the IRA/the "troubles"). The other 5% would be a personal vendetta or someone unbalanced like the murder of John Lennon. And any "bodyguard" worth half his salt will tell you that AVOIDING a potential threat is the KEY to personal safety.

Princess Anne the hardest working Royal doesn't have full time security . Harry and Meagan traveled to a level three country with a safety and security risk- Jamaica for a movie premier and sat with local people in a small movie theater. Didn't see any armed guards there.
They had some security men sitting behind them in the public cinema. That row had water provided for them.. no water in harry and megains row. When mega got him to go out and see uf they could get better seats, the security man followed hum out, and one stayed to look after megain.

Does Harry know where the money comes from for the protection he is asking for. Folks in this country are really struggling financially and have been for a long time to pay for necessities. The government’s cost of living payments have stopped, making things yet harder for low income families. If his presence is requested to event, of course, he’ll get protection.
