Can anyone else sense the end of the eighties, and the beginning of the nineties listening to this? Either way, this sounds as good as it did more than a quarter of a century ago. Thank god for Happy Mondays.
My favourite Mondays song, that rumbling bass is the star of the song. Everyone working as one. You cant ask for much more, thank fuck for the Happy Mondays!!!! I think yous will agree, also not one bad album from these guys. Thank you HMs!!!!
When he came out to the lock-up He said I’m looking for something better And he made his shock announcement And backed off, backed down, backed off And then he got up off the floor He said I’m wealthy enough, not to do this no more And he made it all known with his hand held up, palm out And she said don’t know if I should Cause I worry too much about the tests on the blood And at first it was a ‘yes’, and then a ‘no’, then a ‘yes’ A maggot sleeps on her desk He wears a sleeping bag as his vest And he’s getting too too bothered About the spots on his chest, chest, chest Now T T, she laid it on And a few days later she’s gone So it’s back to the womb To get drowned, drowned, drowned, drowned warm

Was gonna write a quick reply but may as well paste Bez's own words : "I had a special affinity for the tune because of the references to one of the very first people we had met in the early Haçienda days. Her name was Tart Tart. She was a strange type of woman, an old groupie from the 60s, something she wasn't adverse to admitting. (...) One weekend we'd called by as usual to pick up a bag of goodies, promising to pay up on the following Monday. (...) On returning with the dough a few days later, there was no reply at the door. We went back a few times over the next couple of days but again there was no response. Eventually, another friend of ours went round and forced the door. He found her dead at the bottom of the stairs. She'd died of a brain tumour an was black an blue from throwing herself around, smashing her head on the walls an ultimately down the stair in a desperate attempt to stop the pain an agony. (...) Her sudden and lonely death was a shock for the band as we'd all come to look upon her as a special an unusual friend."

A maggot sleeps on her desk
He wears a sleeping bag as his vest
And he’s getting too too bothered
About the spots on his chest, chest, chest

found no electric guitar tabs on this song, someone help me out
he just put the tabs on his tongue and went with the flow
They all did, and were bloody good at it

The picking chords from start and background is definitely some type of detuned E-chord of some kind
Love it!!!!
