- I found 2 insane diets in a magazine article from 1929 and simply had to try them out. One was surprisingly nice and the other.... well, see for yourself!

After the war, in Paris, Marlene Dietrich heard that Edith Piaf was very sick, mainly anaemic. Dietrich went to Les Halles and bought about 50 kilos of the best prime beef and over two days, in her flat, she reduced it to an extremely rich bouillon. She took the casserole over to Piaf's apartment and after Piaf wolfed down two bowls of it, she asked Dietrich, "This was excellent! Did you use Knorr or Maggi?"
Oh my goodness...you're so brave to do that second diet for 2 days!
It was pretty terrible! I'm so glad I decided to do it for only 2 days. Any more and I'd be going insane!
"to distract myself from the suffering" 😭 This was so fun to watch and it made me hungry just imagining only drinking hot water for breakfast... Like the other comment said, I'm sure cigarettes helped. But gross.
Ha ha! So glad you enjoyed the video, thank you for watching. Yes, absolutely- I forgot to mention in the video that the majority of movie starlets would smoke to keep their appetites down- but I'm not that dedicated! 😉
I expect the starlets were able to get through those meager meals with a hearty helping of cigarettes 😅 Not an enviable career
Absolutely... apparently nicotine is a great appetite suppressant but I wasn't willing to go that far for this experience! Ha ha.
You made a nice video with good nutritious meals, especially the first one! I hope they had access to quality home cooked and restaurant food when making movies back then. Stay safe and healthy!
Thank you for watching! I agree, the first diet was surprisingly wonderful- it really surpassed my expectations! I'm sure that at least some movie actresses back then ate a balanced diet and didn't listen to the unhealthy advice from Hollywood.
13:40 i have the same lamp as the one in the back
You have great taste, it's a lovely lamp ♥️
thanks for keeping us posted, haha. I will definitely be considering doing the same one morning 😂
Thanks for watching! ♥️
Americans usually do mean pumpkin when they say squash in their recipes so you nailed it! I love these videos ☺️
I've saved a few of your videos so I can relax & watch them in a row & I'm having a ball doing that today. Thank you for your service, recreating these diets 😂
Thanks for watching! I'm so honoured that you saved my videos. 😊♥
Not true, I am from the US, and when we want pumpkin, we say pumpkin, not squash. We have many varieties of squash, butternut, spaghetti squash, summer squash, and zuccini, which the French call courgettes I believe
@lee3171 yeah dude. What you call butternut squash for example, we call pumpkin. Squash here is a very different thing. It's more like a small choko. Nothing you call a squash is a squash here. Except spaghetti squash.
Actually meals look pretty good. 🙂🇨🇦
I thought so too! At least for the first diet. A pleasant surprise. 😊
Omg I was just looking that article today
No way!! Crazy coincidence!
