I listened to brandy solo studio acapella version but never realised how much better she sounds compared to monica on this acapella version. Brandy tone sounds golden. Monica done great too but if you really listen to both voices brandy outshines. #Just saying

I think I felt that way because Brandy used to whine and mumble her way thru a song, and folks only praised her for her runs. Was a little girl and i preferred Monica back then because it was easier to mimic her full texture, however, when i finally understood the complexity and perfect technical ability of Brandy’s voice later in life, i have to admit i had a revelation. Brandy is SO precise in how she places her voice, and breath her riffs. Both are phenomenal vocalist and made that record a masterpiece.
You might've preferred Monica because she was easier to replicate, whereas Brandy was/is more unique. I still love Monica though
