excited for gunvolt 3! I really enjoyed IX 2 so I'm hoping 3 is as good or better Edit: yeaahhh turns out gv3 was not better than IX2, has some good stuff but inferior in a few critical ways that make it not fun to re-play. Stage design is pretty boring, not really introducing many stage defining features, and most of the mechanics resting upon what the character herself can do, which leads to every stage playing the same. The boss design is also insanely cluttered and attacks feel near impossible to decipher visually, it's a fun game but I don't really have fun replaying it, I'd much rather replay IX 2 over gv3 because of better stage and boss design!
Agree, also it's nearly impossible to achieve the true good enfing of Gunvolt 3, I only finished the bad ending after 10 hours of gameplay once, GV3 is totally unbalanced because the game it's easy until last boss
Mainline Gunvolt Games (1,2, and 3) have multiple playable characters (GV, Copen, and Kirin) who play very differently from both each other, and from game to game. Luminous Avenger games only have one playable character ("Acura" Copen), and both play as variations of his core playstyle. iX is closer to his original form in Gunvolt 2, while iX 2 is different enough to be his own character, gameplay wise. In formula, all five games are very similar, and they all have the same strengths (Stylish scoring gameplay, fun bosses, great gimmick-based levels, tremendous variety in gameplay stles). But they're mostly separated because of Luminous Avenger's focus on Copen, and other spoiler-y story reasons.

I saw this clip where you could swap between gunvolt and copen, does anybody know where it might be from?
You can't switch anywhere. GV2 can only play different route or Mighty Gunvolt Burst can play as different characters.
Sucks that Copen was ruined in LAiX 2 and won't be back for GV 3. UwU
I thought he was ruined at first too, but his new play style grew on me pretty quickly
