TBH that ending was perfect, accurately encapsulates the DMZ experience. Like no matter how much you plan, something can always go awry but you handled it with class
This is why I like Ashika a bit more. The Exfil are a lot more likely on something that doesn’t let the other players jump in the front of the copter out of nowhere nearly as easily in Al Masra. I don’t play solo on Al Masra anymore.
I really appreciate how you talk about the "Mindset" one should have going in Solo or playing the game in general. In season 1, I would literally be sweating while playing because I would be afraid of dying. It actually made me stop playing for a while. After some time, I came back to the mode and just made a decision to not care how a game of DMZ goes. Even if I am fully kitted, i go in with the idea that I will probably lose everything so let's have some fun. It actually made me play better and started to see more wins during pvp engagements. Anyways, thanks for this vid and you got my subscription 😁
100% man everyone dies, you’ll die hundreds if not thousands of times in this game. it’s not a reflection of your skill or worth, just a reflection of Plag style, objectives and circumstances you can’t alway control. Ow with the 3-4 opera it’s nice to deck them out and keep the reserves ready and have ones that you can get killed over and over on.
This comment. 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 Playing solo literally feels like I’m making a lifetime decision when Im fully kitted. 😅 The 2 operators I got the special vests on I never used since I got them lmaoooooooo
@@godspeed163 LoL I get it man. You just gotta let it go. Next time you infill with those two operators, just go in with the idea that you will lose everything. Maybe it's not the winners mentality but it really makes me enjoy the game more. I am a casual player so it works for me.
Been there, man. It still gets me every so often. I used to dread dying because it meant another trip to the train to either gear up or get massacred. After I broke my trend of habitual train hopping my anxiety waned.
I play solo DMZ and your error was: When you got the hostage you put him on the car and started driving. When you did that everyone around you saw the vehicle and the direction you were driving. If you had just carried him the whole way it would have been much safer. I also would have popped a UAV (if you had it) on the way to the exfill chopper just to be safe. Other players see the chopper and start to camp it. If you saw a player camping you could have hidden for a bit or dropped the hostage and tried to flank. Good video.
How did I never think of just taking off the RPK mag mod to make it a 75 round mag🤦...great video! And that ending is honestly a great example of just how unpredictable the DMZ is, it happens!
Agreed on this. Being passive has helped. I also started using my mic, which I never did before. I tell people I’m friendly, but I’m also locked on. Usually watch them come at me. Not only has this helped with some missions, it’s made for some incredible gunfights.
I subscribed to your channel. I will explain why... I am not new to mw2 but I am new to DMZ and playing online. There are a ton of content creators who move really fast through their videos and do not explain certain things. So rather than me watching one video over and over or sifting through 3 hours worth of a live stream to learn what most do without thinking... you my dude have taught more than 38 other vids that I have watched in the past month in 23 mins. Thank you! It would be cool to team up some time online things are funnier with good teammates who know what to expect. Thanks for your help! Best content I have seen in a while! Keep up the great and concise work!
Bro that is how 90% of my solo dmz runs gon. I get hella gear and loot and some asshole shoots me from behind and takes all my hard work . I will say you handled that way better than I usually do .
Well yea it’s bs sure it’s just pixels but you invested time in it and then it’s just lost because some bastards. It’s even worse now. Solos have it so hard. Everyone is so bloodthirsty it’s inane.
When I go in without a gun, I also unequip lethals, tacticals, and equipment. I go in with nothing and leave with at least one fully customized gun, comms vest, and large backpack full of self revives and revive pistols, gasmask either regular or durable, and at least one killstreak.
Another tip is that locked house near the cemetery has a ladder with an orange box on the roof, which usually gives top-tier loot for gearing up if the other boxes are far away.
I have a great tip for solo players. I think. If you are on a mission where you are carrying a mission item that takes too much effort to find again, you should always get a secured backpack first before bringing the item you don't want to lose. I always do this. I've done some of the hardest missions solo because I am careful. So, what you want to do is go to the chemist and kill him for his medic vest and gold skull that you will use for the secure backpack. Killing the chemist is super easy. Just take a radiation blocker with you and pick a good spot inside the radioactive area and kill everything from there. You wont evrr lose an item again. Theonly downdide is that you should probably take one game justto getbackon yourfeet.
"Oh, geez, it's just pixels, eh?" As a Canadian, I approve. In teamed missions, I like to find crazy loot and give it to my teammates. Not my pixels, now they're your pixels.
Well yea it’s just pixels but when you loose it over over over over and over again it’s not fun at all plus you invested a lot of your lifetime in it just to get killed by some a holes
Great vid bud. You hit it right on the head at the start. There’s no point getting bent out of shape if you die doing zero to hero. You started with nothing so it really didn’t cost you anything but your time. There’s multiple different ways of going about doing it and none of them are guaranteed to work every time so just do your thing in a relaxed manner.
This was one of the best videos for a solo player! It really shows others a smart way to play. I appreciate the time it took for you to make this video. Keep these videos coming!
If I grab a hostage contact and building is by any exfil i cancel the contract. There will always be scum bags that suck at ranked so they come to DMZ just to kill people
Do the toxic zero to hero next: hop in vic, go to nearest deliver cargo contract, jump in armored vic, cancel contract, race to nearest spawn or hunt squad and run over players, take gear, and repeat. Works 20% of the time, but one would feel horrible after.
@Forever Young while that is true, and I mentioned the 20% success rate (made up), as a solo, you gotta bounce between driving and gunner spot for this. In one successful case, I downed two players via running them over and jumped on the gun for the 3rd. Was able to do this on three teams and extract. I was rage playing after being betrayed by a dude I let jump in the extract with me the prior match.
My negative exp with DMZ is that I'm not trying to kill other ops but 99.9% of the time that I try to extract I'M killed by other ops. I just want to complete missions and GTFO but I constantly run into ppl that think they're playing GTA and want to kill and loot everything. I play solo bc my friends don't like DMZ. On the rare occasion that I've squaded up with randoms it's like herding cats. This guy goes that way. That guy goes this way. I'm like "wtf?" and just do my own thing. That's why I go solo.
semtex are absolutely essential if you're going for any strongholds or restricted areas. Riot shield AI are the most dangerous enemies you can possibly encounter
I did a solo run before work doing the rebreather mission. I got in my helicopter after I got the laptop, got ddossed by the scavenger, looted for a self in port and found a GPU on the ground so I was able to get a large backpack, get a mission done, and extract a skeleton key!
Huge tip, pick up hostage, wait for the radiation to engulf the area. Players will be forced to not wait cause they will lose out on getting tk final. Ever since doing that I have only been killed once Doing hostages. That exfil was literally in an area where campers hangout to camp that normal exfil.
Good video. 2 things. 1 - Did a 0-H mission and got out with good stuff. 2 - Battle_Tested2 is an extract-camping a-hole. Noted. This is why I only play DMZ when middle school is in session.
I get this idea in my head that I need to fight through every AI but then I watch you (GPU video was probably the funniest example) and you're just running right past them and sometimes they don't even get a shot off because they can't react quickly enough. I'm still SUPER nervous about the crafting bench solo, tried it once in Ashika and gave up after being interrupted by AI for the fourth time while trying to just figure out the interface. BUT, these videos are slowly (my fault) making me a better DMZ player...for example before your Godzilla video I'd played maybe 2 games in Ashika. Since that video, at least 30 times in Ashika and I'm going to say a 50% exfil rate so thank you Geekseh! You're doing great work and helping us casual gamers a TON!
i really really appreciate you saying that but let me be honest ashkia is hell solo. I much much prefer al maz its 10x easier as a solo player. If you are starting to gain that confidence and really learning the game more and more i suggest playing al maz more then ashika....its just so blood thirsty
Really enjoy the calm demeanor. I mean I'm polar opposite hence my in game name of Whiny the Pooh. But love that you can present it nice and calm like. That ending had me upset and I wasn't even playing. 😂
I love this mode. You have to keep your head on a swivel. Definitely don’t disrupt the AI if you don’t have to. You also can use the AI as short of an advantage. The compass helps. Look at the red diamonds. That’s operator shooting in that direction.
great little tutorial video. didn't know about destroying the attachments on the ground loot. perfect ending, i saw that helo just hovering waiting for you. i'm surprised your comms vest didnt call them out
Great video! Like many have said, it was a perfect ending in this case. Likely, the other team was also trying to beat radiation too, that made it a fair fight Vs the infamous Exfil Camper scenario. I was surprised that you would wait before running to the exfil chopper, just because other players can also see it on their map. So the more you wait, the more likely someone is going to ambush you. It would be awesome if hostage exfil choppers would be invisible to other players. Cheers!
Honestly I prefer thermites over semtex because they burn through riot shields, start damaging immediately, do continuous damage and linger for a while, also stick on enemies and surfaces, can interrupt player actions, and two to four thermites can kill juggs, wheelson, commanders, etc.
Dude I've been on vacation for 2 weeks just got back and saw your vid. Awesome vid for Solos I have to remember alot of what you did. I didn't know the RPK & 74u Could destroy the mags and get bigger mags awesome. That ending sucked those guys could have just let you go you were ex filling. No class at all. Keep up the good work. I've learned alot watching your vids.
Love your content Geeks and your attitude in being chilled. You make a lot of sense and thanks for helping so many of us. In any case I was running out of blood pressure tablets 😅 yep I’m an old guy. You’ve got my sub. 🤩
A good trick to use for the Hostage mission is, before going in case the outside of the house and listen for the hostage yelling. It will usually give a good idea where he is inside and those extra seconds count
I use semtex more than TK when doing 0 to hero because u can take out a whole group of AI or down a player while behind a wall where as u have to be out in open to throwing knife 3 AIs and a player.
If you spawn at the first location instead of going to the stronghold. Go to the tower by the grave yard and jump of the top to the window. It works everytime
The second you saw that little bird in a hover you should have known there were players camping the extract. The bot chopper never hovers and never turns, they drop right in, and pull straight out.
At 20:47 you can see the sniper glint from the dude trying to snipe you in the chopper, they dropped in and got you as you entered the helo. I hate that the hostage chopper is red on the map for other players and they can see it anywhere it lands on the map, instead of the usual 100 meters on the minimal. come one devs!!
How do you genuinely go in with a positive mindset that is comfortable with any outcome? Every time I play solo, I’m so tense to not get killed. When I get mowed down by players, I’m frustrated that all my time was just wasted. I truly do admire your positive attitude, but I don’t know how to adopt it even after game after game of “practice.”
When you find the 2 plate carrier you should have slapped down your muni box to re-up your semtex's and then re-equiped the self pistol. There was 2 in that crate for you to use so that would have been a good tip to give
Great tips regardless if you're passive or agro mode. I agree. When I'm starting from a clean wipe, I do the supply mission ASAP. Also, if I'm near the airport I will do the window peek glitch (Ahdkar Village)to get a 3 plate stealth carrier. Occasionally I also peek and stow a gold skull which gives you a nice $$ boost. Supply mission always gives you better guns and plate carriers. The only downside is if your team is ALSO running for the supply boxes. And, if you're doing the mission that times your mission completion for supply, keep in mind the boxes don't have to be the highlighted boxes. Any loot box counts, and there's a spot middle of Al Mazra that has 3-4 boxes right next to each other. I had the mission done in 60 seconds easily.
Once again my Brothah,, Thank You,, I always learn from your video's,, My Solo game play has improved tremendously with your Help,,thanx an Rock On Eh..
"Tip" if you roll your mouse wheel with weapon in hand before you pick up hostage you will keep your weapon drawn whilst carrying hostage, so you can fight on the go. xD Also I try to keep a smoke for exfil, its saved me a few times.
Noticed no heads-up from the coms vest, been caught out enough time to not rely on it. Run medic for quicker self-revive solo. Tempered the vest of choice tho.
Mate, you are so chill... would love to play with you sometime. Your videos are super good and helpful and you are so anti-toxic. IDK if it would have mattered in this case, but I always try to have at least one smoke grenade for exfil for cover. The ending made me LOL because I have been there so many times before! I try not to get mad, tho it does happen once in a while just if its a particularly toxic player that did me in.
45 mins of the greatest Canadian content creator? Yes please! Would love a vid on how you position/rotate in your matches. I’m always looking for ways to improve here because that’s the biggest difference between us regular joes and pros
For rotations bro... I try to remember what direction they came from. Then rotate in a circular motion around that spot. (Incase of teammates) Thats a quick explanation. Maybe I should make UA-cam videos.
Really liked the video, I just started playing DMZ and l like it a lot. Good combination between action and strategy. Good ending and I agree, mindset is everything in this game and losing is a good way to learn. That’s where you’ll grow to become better at it.
Being passive is boring but I like it that I have the best chance of survival. People will look down on me as "runner" "noobies" etc. I just swallow it, because those talking these s*it always die prematurely, while I love to survive and exfil. Imagine if this is real life ... what would you do ?
I come from tarkov I play this because well if you know the state of tarkov you know but I zero to hero every game if I survive I just go right back in and use those guns or kit to do whatever I was doing gear fear is one of the hardest things to get over but once you do it makes extraction games so much better
Dude, amazing video. If I could give you two likes, I would. And based on the fact that you're a fellow Canadian either. Based on the solid advice you gave man. I'm not going to lie, that last 40 seconds or so, I kinda felt for you. Simply because I'm always. 100% of the time a solo player (and not the best cod player overall) and I've been in these situations where I've been super stealthy all match, I have that tier 2/tier 4 backpack and armour and what happens the second I try to jump on the exfil, some clown is camping just waiting for me to drop my loot in his lap. Which is a complete bummer.. either way, just wanted to say hey and thanks for the solid advice dude? cheers! (Eh! :/ )
3:24 bro thank u so much for telling the cod community this. For some reason I can die over and over again without getting mad. I feel like im the only one in this community who doesnt have a temper shorter than simone biles. 💀
I get super angry sometimes and lash out in prox when I'm on a mission and get jumped and I shouldn't. You don't really lose anything but time in this game. It's just being mission focussed and getting downed sucks and I need to not lash out in chat about it.
What a human response. It is really disappointing. And.. it sucks that hard work doesn't pay off. I know it's a game, and I calm down as it is just pixels. But in those moments right after a rat/camp kill... oh my, I envy how calm these folks can remain. I am muted so most folks don't hear me cursing. Thankfully. LOL.
Great video! I really like your style how you talk through these videos. Thinking of coming back to solo DMZ again and these tips were great. Quit during Season 2 and looks like a lot has changed since then.
Just came across your content and wish i had sooner. Great attitude, fantastic perspective on the nature of the game, and very practical advice for the solo player, which is me 95% of the time. You have my sub, I'll look forward to catching more of your content in the future, thank you😊
That's Billy content right there. Guys, I suggest you play differently: don't stop moving, always check your surroundings (take your time but don't stop moving) and know that everyone can see the hostage or personal exfil chopper once they land (it is highlighted in red for everyone) - so don't "wait for the AI" to deagro. Thanks for coming.
I'd have done that first safe. Start the safe crack and go to the floor above so it continues to crack it and just hold the stairs as they funnel in. Easy missed loot.
You had the best spawn to fly into the crypto mining room. After finishing the video I need to add something. Yeah it's just pixels but I feel if we have a rat infestation, you need to at least acknowledge the rats and tell them how worthless they are. He saw another person's exfil chopper, camped out near it and killed you. That's a rat if I've ever seen one.
Im the type of person who only likes to start the game with 0 stuff so when i get kitted out i just change operator and once theyre all kitted out i go fill and just do some big missions
TBH that ending was perfect, accurately encapsulates the DMZ experience. Like no matter how much you plan, something can always go awry but you handled it with class
i thought so too...
This is why I like Ashika a bit more. The Exfil are a lot more likely on something that doesn’t let the other players jump in the front of the copter out of nowhere nearly as easily in Al Masra.

Encapsulates. Something about this word made we want to read the whole dictionary for shits and gigs. 😂

my guess was they were wearing the stealth vest...
If you have Ghost perk it doesn't announce your position.
Love your content Geeks and your attitude in being chilled. You make a lot of sense and thanks for helping so many of us. In any case I was running out of blood pressure tablets 😅 yep I’m an old guy. You’ve got my sub. 🤩
I wanna see the aggressive @geekseh... Your alter ego could be the maniacal mounty... The catchphrase will be "you want more lead with that eh" 😎😅
hahah its not even that sexy its me just going ham and playing dumb tbh.
@@geekseh go lone wolf it then. Only do hunt squad contracts
A good trick to use for the Hostage mission is, before going in case the outside of the house and listen for the hostage yelling. It will usually give a good idea where he is inside and those extra seconds count
You can also shoot a lot of the enemies from outside, even if it feels a little like an exploit since they don't shoot back
I use semtex more than TK when doing 0 to hero because u can take out a whole group of AI or down a player while behind a wall where as u have to be out in open to throwing knife 3 AIs and a player.
Greetings from Norway. I really like and learn a lot from you.. Thanx a lot for making me a better DMZ-solo/team player.
If you spawn at the first location instead of going to the stronghold. Go to the tower by the grave yard and jump of the top to the window. It works everytime
Throwing the hostage on the hood of that Jeep was brilliant. Great tip on destroying those weapon mods. Thanks aye!
This has been one of the best tutorials, especially for new players like myself. 👍 Thank you so much for this!
They really need to give solo players the option to plea for help.
Agree
yepp
The second you saw that little bird in a hover you should have known there were players camping the extract. The bot chopper never hovers and never turns, they drop right in, and pull straight out.
Can you specify the time dtamp? Do you mean the chopper st the end?
At 20:47 you can see the sniper glint from the dude trying to snipe you in the chopper, they dropped in and got you as you entered the helo. I hate that the hostage chopper is red on the map for other players and they can see it anywhere it lands on the map, instead of the usual 100 meters on the minimal. come one devs!!
@@marjus89 Hostage shopper should show nothing in all maps except for the team who get the hostage rescued. This is supposed to be PRIVATE EXFIL.
haha at least you walked into it totally casual. 9 times out of ten something like this happens. damn piranha's 😂😂 and to AI, thats what she saiiiidd😊
I cannot agree more that I'd rather have semtex when going In naked. I love rushing a stronghold early and shield boys are no bueno
I like the radio tower and parachute into the crypto room better than the roof across the street.
Classy plays. We try to only engage players if they open fire first...but weekends are TOXIC!!
"Tip" if you roll your mouse wheel with weapon in hand before you pick up hostage you will keep your weapon drawn whilst carrying hostage, so you can fight on the go. xD
Also I try to keep a smoke for exfil, its saved me a few times.
Noticed no heads-up from the coms vest, been caught out enough time to not rely on it. Run medic for quicker self-revive solo. Tempered the vest of choice tho.
I actually learned something and the ending was perfect, classic DMZ experience, cheers!
Love your mindstate brotha. Very cool to hear your thoughts and objective
45 mins of the greatest Canadian content creator? Yes please!
Would love a vid on how you position/rotate in your matches. I’m always looking for ways to improve here because that’s the biggest difference between us regular joes and pros
Making a comm vest is the way to better survive from those hunters
For rotations bro... I try to remember what direction they came from.
Then rotate in a circular motion around that spot.
(Incase of teammates)
Thats a quick explanation.
Maybe I should make UA-cam videos.
Really liked the video, I just started playing DMZ and l like it a lot. Good combination between action and strategy. Good ending and I agree, mindset is everything in this game and losing is a good way to learn. That’s where you’ll grow to become better at it.
Great vid! Solo DMZ is still one of my favorite was to play. Can be frustrating at times, these solo tips are greatly appreciated. 👍
Sniper glint from chopper at 20:47. That's the guy that doesn't like when people actually get stuff done.
Just started playing DMZ, thank you for the tutorial!
Being passive is boring but I like it that I have the best chance of survival.
People will look down on me as "runner" "noobies" etc. I just swallow it, because those talking these s*it always die prematurely, while I love to survive and exfil.
Imagine if this is real life ... what would you do ?
The ending got my sub. Way to handle it.
thanks man. Some games go well some games go well but not a happy ending.
I come from tarkov I play this because well if you know the state of tarkov you know but I zero to hero every game if I survive I just go right back in and use those guns or kit to do whatever I was doing gear fear is one of the hardest things to get over but once you do it makes extraction games so much better
Thanks for taking the time to do these informative videos i as a solo need all the tips i can take so thank you
I imagined your guide with Reznoves voice: Step 1: get a gun, Step 2: get self revive, Step 3: find things, etc.
Tnx for the tips
Man DMZ back then seemed much more chill
It really was, everyone was just doing missions. There was also 6 man death squads though
"Go find a hello-copter before you find a gun"
Gam3s are supposed to be fun lol people forget that sometimes....
@@geekseh I know
Great videos mate. Keep it coming 👍
Great content, learnt a lot from it, also lots of tips in he comment. Cool stuff, keep it up!
Thankfully. LOL.
Me going into a random building guarded by 7 elite NPC's. Loot: a pocket watch.
Solid run, who would have thought a guy would have been on the helicopter
Very nice you show the end 👏🏻
Spotter scope....scuba mask....revive and revive pistol....drill charge for campers n bots
Great tip about the crafting table! That exfil was painful, esp after such a perfect run.
Its a game it happens lol.
Great video, followed as you're a fellow canadian. just got into DMZ really great mode. Thanks for the content.
this video sums up my entire dmz experience
Love watching your videos mate. Top quality content
Thanks man! I love reading your comments. Such kind words!
@@geekseh you’re welcome mate! Watching from Melbourne Australia 🇦🇺 would love to play together some time
never tired the supply run,, seems reminiscent of WZ 1... a great way to run easy contracts to get your loadout. or plunder..
Like I feel if I go in just to loot up….. I die a lot, opposed to going in knowing I’m the hunter (even with minimal loot) I/we still come out on top
Great video…keep up the good work
thanks diddi!!!
Great video bud..Unfortunately lately DMZ is loaded with cheaters !! Finishing my battle pass and am gone..!
You're the man! Thank you for the walkthrough, I've been playing a ton and still learned a lot from this!
Im the type of person who only likes to start the game with 0 stuff so when i get kitted out i just change operator and once theyre all kitted out i go fill and just do some big missions
Great vid buddy. Keep up the good work
You sir are the kindest most nice streamer I seen so far
How’d he not see the chopper just chilling there lol
