    idk what an fdtd even is but i love it

      fdtd stands for finite difference time domain which is an algorithm to solve electromagnetic interactions given a scenario.

    At 2:57 it shows the same interference pattern as the double slit experiment

    • @meyavuz
      @meyavuz  2 роки тому +1

      Yes, it acts like a double slit actually. But as far as I remember, the distance between the two openings were not carefully selected so it is rather arbitrary, just to show the concept

    So cool, do you have papers to these or the codes or anything to find out more :)?

      thanks - no papers or codes but you can check the Taflove's FDTD book for more details.

    May I suggest, to improve your Matlab skills, to check how to set the colour scale to be constant across multiple frames. It is not difficult and it will make your animations much easier to study.
    I have moved on to Python, but in my time with Matlab, I would always set the colour scale to be constant across time.
    May I also suggest that for purpose of visualising waves, a blue-white-red colour scale is much better than Matlab's default. It is not in any of the default library colour maps to choose from, but you will find on file exchange.

      Thanks for your comment. I agree with you and actually I have switched using that as well. The first animation is not using but the subsequent ones are using constant scale. Thank you

    I think most of these cool examples are 2D. Do you have some examples using 3D FDTD?

    • @meyavuz
      @meyavuz  2 роки тому

      Thanks and unfortunately, I don't have 3D examples here as it is much easier to animate with 2D cases. There are other videos online where you can find 3D FDTD I believe. Thanks

    How can i learn such plotting i know MATLAB can you please share some codes or links where i can learn such plotting? i think you are using something similar to interact function available in python in matlab

    Hello, did you use comsol for illustrating this animations? If not, which software have been used for this clip? Thanks

    • @meyavuz
      @meyavuz  2 роки тому

      No, actually I have never used it :) These are my own FDTD codes in various formats (C++, matlab etc) where I get the main 2D propagation data. Then I used Matlab to to visualize and animate them.

      @meyavuz  3 роки тому

      Also, for GPR related FDTD, search for gprMax in google. It gives you free open source Python based GPR code based on FDTD
