What an incredible version of the masterpiece. Hard to believe how old this song is now. And what a blessing we still have Hank with us - one of the last living original TRUE country legends.
I'm a metal head and listen to Hank Jr and Sr. I will admit I hate hip hop and total metal or turned up blues on overloadedctube Amps but Hanks Daddy AKA Hank Sr. Robert H Johnkn aint got shit on him.
HWJ's best song ever. It still rings true 43 years later. I love the fact that Hank was never afraid to change up the lyrics a bit but still preserve the spirit of the song when he sang it. Hank Williams Jr. Is always my favorite Country Music Artist of all time. Hoozah HWJr.
A song that set the path for so many young boys and teenagers when it came out It definitely helped make me the man I am today I wouldn’t trade my memories for all the Tea in Alabama 😂😂
If you listen to the lyrics and Hanks words and feelings to this song , I as a Yankee think this is one of the greatest country song ever written and performed by a true legend!!! This is one of many ,I know but it speaks volumes!! I farmed my life away up north but as a young man I spent 4 years in Texas about the time when this song came out!! I have never seen or met more hospitality and kindness by true Texans and also what they called Tex MEX back then. Wonderful people. I flew to Dallas a couple of years ago and rented a car to my old stomping ground. Everything was un-recognizable as the population and growth exploded!! But I still have my memories of the great state of Texas!!!
Right on ! Kool story. I'm from southern Oklahoma but live in Colorado now. I'm on the high plains, with huge farms all around. So there are still plenty of good ol boys and gals around !!
Dang Hank, I SELDOM if ever, have heard something that touched my SOUL like what you just gave us !!! I'm from Far North California, (always and forever Merle Haggard country). Up here in Redding, honestly about every 20th or so license plate we see, is from out of state (often out of country). It is a great joy for us to see cars from the South up here. Cause we KNOW they most likely they are "GOD, FAMILY and COUNTRY" folks. If you Southern folks are thinkin of headin' up this way, you surely are welcome. 'cause a COUNTRY BOY CAN SURVIVE..................
Sadly people dont think like this, ill blare this shit on the radio and my older brother turns it off and tells me bocephus sucks and then plays his bullshit
I was trucking through Tennessee on Christmas Eve the costumer asked if I going to make home I said no mam she got sad for me she cared I seen the people in the south a like family I never knew it was an great experience I'm a Washington state boy
For all of you city people this is our anthem to you all. Between Charlie Danial’s and Hank speaking the truth to the concrete jungle rats. We are simple folk that don’t want to be messed with and if shit hits the fan we will survive
I was only 17 and A half years old. We had this Ice Storm there was this school bus in the ditch. I was just trying to make my way to work. Doug thought I was a Cub or a tiny bear. I'm lucky to b alive, he told me I've never seen anyone crawl up my driveway like that ...
Worst mistake that Texas did was trust Yankee Doodle and not stay Mexican A ranchero con un asado es hermano Specially if there’s some carnitas (ladies and pork)
He proves that a country boy can survive since he survive falling off a freaking mountain.
