Yhoo this is beautiful , so mellow! It seems the golden era of roots reggae was in the ealy 1980s. Seems the best tunes are mostly drawn from era between 81-84...Keep sharing , I love this. Thank you so much
I heard this at a dance years ago .... love this tune ... I've sat under a willow tree with a big fat spliffand this playing ....one of life's simple and priceless moments ... 💖
Brings back memories of Gemini,Echo Tone,Black Harmony dancing rub a dub with the prettiest girls in di dance, man those were the days of real dance hall.
I read an interview where he said that the inspiration was a storm before Hurricane Gilbert.. The storm blew off his friend’s roof. Amazing song.. 🔥🔥🔥🇯🇲
I agree some dance hall was good but the bad stuff dragged reggae into the sleazy and slackness era and it never recovered very similar to soul music rap music killed it dead
Have you ever been outside when the rain is falling, in the rain in the cold and stormy night, rpt, with not even a roof over your head rpt. the little ones crying, they need a roof over their heads, Birds have their nest, Fox have his den,but the songs of a man have no home.
Not songs of man. It's Son of Man. The words are taken from bible Luke 9.58 and this song was originally done by Fredlocks of Creation Stepper but this is the more popular cover by Roland Burrell
@@Nice1EvenBetter nice info there 👍I can’t seem to find that track , but they made some nice music back in the day and I know sly and Robbie played drums and bass on some of their albums 🙂
Classic tune, great singing, and production. Channel one top tune, listen those horns. But this is actually a cover. Original done by Creation Steppas, and I even think the true original was a soul tune, but can't find further info on it.
