Sir how did u add 1 and write MC, and how did AM+MC=AC????

1 is added because it is the process of calculation.
As maths says that you solve Questions it doesn't matter what steps you taken to solve the Question so you can solve in any way.
The second reason for adding of 1 is that we want to have equal AM and AE.
AM+MC=AC because as you seen in the figure that DM||BC this means that DM has divided the line AC in Two parts which is AM and MC
So the sum of AM+MC=AC
So, DE||BC
