This is my old middle school! It’s crazy to see it like that now.
This is my old middle school. I graduated there in 2004. So many memories and sad to see it just sitting there. My 6th grade class actually made a garden area in the triangle beside the pathway that led to the 6 grade trailers.
Had a lot of good times and played a lot of basketball at this school. Graduated from there in 2011 and still remember my friends and teachers.
There used to be an elementary school named George F. Johnson just a few minutes from Virgie that I attended. It’s unfortunate they tore it down. Would’ve been another cool place to explore. It along with VMS were 2 great schools.
Perfect movie set material
The building to the side was originally a service station. Was a rescue squad biilding when i went to school therr
I graduated from here when it was Virgie High School
Brings back memories for sure! I went to virgie middle school from 2006-2009. 3 generations of my family went there and the school was built in the 1930's.
Its unfortunate they had to shut down the school, but it had to be done. Even when i was going to school here parts of the building were breaking down. The second floors roof was caving in and the sewage system kept flooding the basement. Sad to see it go, but understanding why it had to be done.
I graduated from there in 1989, brings back so many great memories. The original gym sat where the two ball goals were.
@@ladyevil2922Thanks for response.
It's a shame that the city didn't repurpose that school instead of just abandoning it.
Maybe better to salvage whatever they could and tear it down.
There is an abandoned school in Higginsport OH
where is that first place with all the graffiti at the start of the vid
It is in Pikeville, KY close to the YMCA and the street from the dog park. I have heard that it has been blocked off tho
Why the hell isn't this school being repurposed... Everyone complaining about debt, then we let this building fall apart and go to waste.
Why not reuse all this material to build something else or repurpose the building.
I remember I was hiking great wall of China and many parts of the wall away from the tourist spot are in shambles and missing. Locals were telling me people and construction companies were taking the bricks off the great wall and reusing them.
Then you watch this video and you see America just wasting houses and buildings and complaining about homelessness, debt, and poverty.
They could use the brick from the buildings. Or taking supplies from the building would work.
However, the building can't be reused anymore. My 7th grade and 8th grade year (2008-2009) the basement was flooded twice with sewage. The roof on the second floor completely caved in and the library had to be moved to the music room. The building is beyond repair at this point.
@@Terralovespandabears Sounds terrible....It would be great if building can be recycled instead of letting it all fall apart.
This is super dope! Wish I was there man.
