I went to the Mirage in 1990' when I was a kid, and I was in awe of the atmosphere of the casino. The meals were great, and the volcano show was spectacular. I will miss the Mirage Dani!😢
I'm right there with you.
The Mirage has been a huge part of my vacation life! It's always been relaxing and classy. I'll never get over it transitioning out!
Dang. I feel that. 😔
Sad to see the Mirage going to Volcano heaven. My #1 favorite. The grounds of the hotel, the design, the pool, the rooms - every aspect of The Mirage was 1st class but never snooty. Every single themed resort in Vegas now owes a tip of the hat to The Mirage - which started it ALL. I cl;early remember Charlie Meyerson ran things at the Mirage casino (high rollers) early 90's. A very interesting man indeed who's history with Wynn and Vegas went back many decades. I saw Siegfried & Roy many times in the early days and it was quite a show. LOVE remains the #1 best Cirque show. Steve Wynn turned out to be a bit of a mess in so many ways... but even with his near blindness, he certainly left as big a mark on Vegas as Howard Hughes did in the early Vegas years. The current corporate owners have lost sight (literally) of what made Vegas great.
this one hits close to home. one of the first of its kind of the mega-themed casino hotels, it stood out like the oasis it was (at that time). the volcano show was the FIRST of its kind! The Mirage will be sorely missed.
Won't forget taking field trips to the dolphin habitat as a kid back in the day, we got to see them train them and watched a documentary video on them in the underwater room, it was so cool! Also remembered for Vegas Vacation, one of my favorite movies.. The volcano and tiger habitat were also staples for whenever we had family and friends in town, awesome video Dani! Will miss u Mirage
4:56 I'm so happy you mentioned the Griswolds!
I always think of that movie when at the Mirage or a "shady buffet" lol
50 years from now someone will watch this video to look at old memories
Will really miss The Mirage. The Secret Garden and dolphin area at the back was always a favourite place to relax and chill. Loved the Griswold check in in the film. Thank you for showing us it before it closes. Cheers
Wow! I can't believe this! I went to the Mirage back in 2014!
Thanks for the video Dani! I enjoy watching your videos and your voice is very soothing to hear!
Thanks for watching! 🥰
I stayed at the Mirage in 2005 on my 2nd trip to Vegas. I really enjoyed staying there, especially the tropical theme and the pool area.
I totally agree! Beautiful resort.
This is really sad that it's going away. Loved this property. I will be able get to see it in July before it closes 😢
Same! Take it all in before that area is gone. :\
Thank you so much for walking through the mirage. When I got married on 7-7-7, my beautiful wife and I got to stay there. I really appreciate all your videos. It helped me a lot during covid times too.
PS still happily married.
Thanks for sharing! Love that you guys stayed at the Mirage for your wedding. :) and Thank you so much for watching
Las Vegas is always evolving. I love the Mirage I got my Mirage ball cap 🧢
Heck ya.
Glad to see a Hard Rock hotel coming back to Vegas. Back in the day I figured out how to get upgrades for free. When I was in Vegas I wore a Hard Rock Philadelphia t-shirt. I would try to check in early and my room was not done yet, well I had a good attitude about it and started a conversation with the host and every time I got bumped up to a suite for free This must of happened a good 10 times, all over the country. I believe if you prove Hard Rock loyalty by wearing a far away shirt, they would upgrade you for free. No idea if this still happens or not.
Thats awesome! I wonder what would happen if I check in when it's the Hard Rock but I wear my mirage shirt hah.
I can hear the sadness in your voice, reliving memories are what used to make Vegas so great, now i can count on one hand how many casinos are still there from my younger years 😫
It's an odd feeling. I'm ok with change but some of these memories feel like they are being erased.
Great content on the soon to be Hard Rock.it will be forever be known to me as the Mirage as well Sigfreed n Roy featured in the movie Vegas Vacation.thankyou for the memories I remembered going in the Mirage.hope Hard Rock will be just as good.👍
I've got my fingers crossed for Hard Rock. I'm hoping its a cool spot for music lovers.
I really hope that when the Hard Rock opens in a few years they bring back Beatles Love! That’s one of the best shows on the strip (seen it 8x) and it fits their motif perfectly.
I agree with you 💯. Why wouldn't they?? It fits right in with the Hard Rock. Bleh.
This is so sad. After getting married this is where went to celebrate and watch Beatles Love. You are right, in the 90’s one if the it Hotels back then. That Hard Rock will massive. Thanks for paying homage to this iconic place.
I was just telling Eddie I'd like to try and see love one last time. Such a good show. Glad you got to see it too!
We stayed there a few years ago and Dan saw Beatles Love. He really enjoyed it. He had upper area seats and they moved him down to like 5th row. Free upgrade! The Hard rock guitar here in Florida is iconic now. Will miss Mirage though. Lots of memories.
Love that place I was building my home in henderson and I was standing here months at a time love this place!!!❤❤
Lots of great movie shots at the casino. Interior and exterior. Great video Dani as per usual. 🤟
Thanks so much!! 🙏🏼
Hey Dani, great video, I'm going soon too in June, keep em coming!
Thank you and Have fun!!
Great video again Dani.... Always sad to see these iconic hotel casinos close..🇨🇦🇨🇦🍺🍺
Thank you. It will be weird without the mirage in that spot.
Its sad to see hotels/casinos closing down. We were here couple days ago! Thanks for sharing this :)
Thanks for watching!
Good morning from Gatlinburg TN Smoky Mountains Park Miss Dani 🐻🏞️🌄
As long as "Vegas Vacation" is out there, this place will never die! Great video Dani!
The best!
Loved that place. Pool especially.
Im.glad i.got pictures and a video of the volcano of the Mirage. I wish I would bought a shirt from.there with a picture of the Mirage / volcano
I had to get a shirt too. I was happy to find a bunch of merch available. I still have an old match book too!
vegas seems like a revolving door of hotels closing and opening
Especially lately.
The show must go on. Can't stay stagnant or the same forever.
The economy will continue to tank Vegas could end up a ghost town.
Just saw Love a couple weeks ago while in town for The Stones show. It was amazing! Taking my mom next month to see Love & stay at the Mirage for a couple nights before it's gone. 💖
That is awesome! I rave about the show. A must for any Beatles fan! Glad you enjoyed it and get to take your mom before they close! Should be a special trip.
I stayed at the Vegas Hard Rock Hotel last time I was there, it was great especially the pool area.
Hello from Texas, great video love the deep dive into an iconic property. Loved Vegas vacation, when I was a kid that was the first image/thought I had of Vegas, lol. And now it’s one of my 2 fav places on earth(Maui the other). Be well. 🤙
The volcano is so iconic. Its going to be crazy when they take it out.
Best pools there in my opinion. And TI had convenient access to Mirage. I feel a bit sad! …But hey let’s hope the new resort is something really super. Thx Dani. Cheers.
I hope so too!
Thank you Dani...
You're welcome 😊
Well with all the years I’ve been going to Vegas I never went in the Mirage and why I never went in there your guess is as good as mine so you filming the resort was nice because it was great to see how beautiful it really is and I must say you got some very beautiful footage of the resort, now I will say so often it’s so hard to say goodbye to thing you’ve grown to love but at the same time you get ready for a new journey of new things to come like the new things coming to Vegas and Dani i hope these new things coming to Vegas live up to your expectations so you can enjoy them for years to come, so with that peace ☮️ love ❤️ and happiness to you Dani and Eddie and I’ll see you on the next Vegas vlog adventure peace ☮️ out ✌️
Nice job on the video,
Thank you. Glad you enjoyed it!
Awsome video danni we just got back a week ago missing vegas already coming back next year fingers crossed got to see the beatles show this time was so good 👍 the mirage will always be special to me because it was the first resort we stayed in going to be closed for 3 years though crazy
I'm so glad you saw love! A must for any Beatles fan!
As old legends die new ones are born. The decades go and so does the eras in time
Cheers!!
Hard Rock won't be legendary at all. It'll just be sellout trash. Legendary things are going extinct.
Liked.
One of the OG themed resorts, always enjoyed the mirage. The times they are a changin. Hope hard rock does it right.
I hope so too!
I can remember standing across the street during its construction. We booked our first stay one week after it opened and every year after until it was sold to MGM. It seemed to lose its charm after Wynn sold it but the memories for us will be with us forever. The pool, shows and food were always a wow factor for us. The tropical theme will be missed on the strip only to make room for another glass building. Thank god we still have the Bellagio and Wynn.
Thanks for the walk through.
oh wow. how cool you have a memory of it being built. I always thought it was interesting that MGM pulled back on theming off all their bought hotels.
So I wonder where Shin Lim will perform??? He was a staple for the Mirage for so long......so I guess its SO LONG! lol lol Thanks for sharing Dani. Your the best!!! :)
Liked
I appreciate you!!!
Nice video! Too bad it's closing soon, and yeah that volcano show at night sure does look spectacular!
It really is!
👍
I visited the Mirage in 1990. You know you're getting old when you can remember defunct Las Vegas resorts when they were new.
🤭🙊
I remember the first time they blew the volcano went off and lite the palm trees up, big fire it was the big wow factor.
That thesis statement 👌👌👌
😆
👍 ❤️ ✌️
I saw the Beatles show it was amazing.
So glad you got to see it too! I rave about it. Must for any Beatles fan visiting Vegas.
Omg my dream date is married. 😭😭. I will miss this property
Hope they bring back love , Only one of the best bands ever , I understand there is a substantial amount of asbestos at the tropicana also , gut wrenching to see the The bungalows in partial destruction , But I guess change is inevitable , Thanks guys take care
I hope so too. I feel like LOVE fits in at Hard Rock but they announced it was closing with no mention of moving or reopening.
Hi Dani, as a person who hates change, I hate this change. Haven't been to Vegas in some years (broke), but when I did go in the past I would stay at The Mirage or Treasure Island. Later on I always stayed at Bally's. This is a shame. The Mirage should never had been allowed to be changed because mine and one of your favorite movies was filmed there. VEGAS VACATION. This is where Cousin Eddie passed out at the craps table when he burped and the plate in his head shifted, where Ellen Griswold flirted with Wayne Newton, where Clark Griswold lost all his money to Marty (my real name) the Blackjack dealer. And of course where Rusty Griswold aka Nick Papagiorgio hit it big at the craps table with his fake id. Yuma Arizona where I'm in the software business. This place should be declared a National Historic Landmark.
I lost track of the time I would rub the Mermaid statues in the lobby for good luck. Can't say where on here though 😁and took so many pictures with the Siegfried & Roy statues at on the strip (hope they keep them). Dani you have a lot of sway in Vegas, please start protesting the closure by picketing out front. Thanks for the Vegas Vacation references. P.S. If you can get me a mermaid statue before they close that would be great. 😁😁😁😂😂😂
Lol. I am seriously so thankful for Vegas Vacation. Not only is it one of my favorite movies but now we have an awesome look at the mirage from that decade and something to keep the memory alive.
I was lucky to stay there once in '95
So awesome!
Save the volcano
Good video. Having fun???
Always!
I remember the free white tiger exhibit. It was where the El Diablo restaurant is now.
Ahh. I was trying to remember where it was. I've got to pull out some old photos. I think I have some!
On our first visit to Vegas (at Paris) we walked through the Mirage and said to each other "this is where we should be". We then stayed there twice, but Vegas waits for no one so perhaps the time has come. People expect a little more now for $200 plus/night (eg fancier bathrooms) and it sounds like Hard Rock is doing a complete re-fit.
I'm very curious on the remodel. I would think so much or pretty everything is going to change to fit the brand.
Im very sadness now because two famous iconic buildings going The Mirage The Tropicana and soon everything’s going to changes not going to be the same anymore in Las Vegas Trips
I took my daughter to the mirage last year so she can she it because we were also 90’s vegas kids . I wanted her to at least see it.
That is awesome. I hope she got to create some memories of the spot too.
The big guitar will prob look cool in vegas
I'm sure it will be pretty cool. :)
A flaming guitar show would be cool
Hi, "Dani.702"..., Beautiful as ever ! ! Excellent video and very informative, and "Thank you" for sharing the video ! ! Excellent video... * "Dani,702" is bright, intelligent, and attractive... "Semper Fi" Mike in Montana :)
Thank you very much!
Great video miss Dani, but sad though.. Vegas seems to change every few years.. i can remember walking the strip seeing the old Boardwalk casino, the Dunes, Aladdin even the Sands casino (so im older)lol
... 3 years from now you'll have The Hard Rock instead of Mirage and the A's (maybe) instead of the Tropicana. . Also possibly even the return of Bally's Casino. And im most likely missing other changes that are in yhe works..Guess the changes will keep Visitors coming to Vegas..
It's pretty amazing how different things are from when I was a kid too. I'm in for changes but man, its weird to see sometimes.
First!
Brandin Stephens Las Vegas ❤❤❤❤
Now I’m upset that I didn’t go in there last time lol.. it’s actually beautiful, but I just didn’t feel like crossing the street
lol. I get it when your already walking one side.
@@Dani702 next time will be about the other side.. lol
Never went there but heard a lot about it with the Sigfrey and Roy and the Volcano show! I'm surprised there is not a Hard Rock there already. Just a heads up Hard Rock is expensive to stay at. I have been to the one in Atlantic City.
Hard Rock was in Vegas but off the strip a little bit. I did a video there maybe 5 years ago... When we moved to FL, they sold it to Virgin (haven't been back yet). We also have a Hard Rock restaurant/venue on the strip. So it's weird they are coming back with a huge change. Hopefully competition of the other resorts keep the price fair. But who knows.
Saying goodbye to the Mirage is going to be very hard. Everything modern Las Vegas has become is because of the bar that the Mirage set when it opened. Let's hope that Hard Rock does the job right and we don't end up with a 15-year Fontainebleau-like disaster!
It's interesting since Hard Rock already had a place and sold it. Fingers crossed for them this time around.
I see those renderings of what the new Hard Rock hotel is going to look like. Ugh, gaudy is the first thought that comes to mind. There are all these beautiful buildings lining the strip and then ... that. I hope that the final product ends up far better.
It's going to be weird. I was to say cool. But right now I'm going with weird lol.
Dani, it seems as if your Las Vegas vids are turning into Closing Resort Vids?
Right? Crazy.
Its crazy that Hard Rock is going to close the hotel for 3 years to do renovations.
I know! Down 2 resorts on the strip for the next few years.
The Sportsbook is still MGM. You have to use your MGM card in the sportsbook and the Hard Rock Unity card in the casino.
Weeerid.
We were just there last week, sad the lagoon was full of trash ugh. We live in Boulder City and rarely venture to the strip.
Ew thats a bummer there was trash. It looked great last Thursday.
The last Hotel I stayed in Vegas was 1996 Treasure Island and we would take the monorail over to Mirage and it was awesome I know things come and go but in Vegas they come a lot more often. In my opinion I'm asking why does the Mirage have to go it was such a beautiful hotel.
They've been really playing the changes latley. It's a bummer for the Mirage.
Dani do you think in your next video you can film at the rio hotel because I want to see what it looks like on the inside
It definitely won't be next video but I'm hoping to get to the Rio soon.
@@Dani702 I am asking that because I have been on UA-cam looking for a walkthrough of the Rio and can't find one but I was hoping you'll do that for your fans
Even though the resort was purchased from MGM the sportsbook remained BETMGM. Thats why the sign hasn't changed.
interesting.
I wonder that they'll do with all of those plants? It's going to be several years before the new hotel is ready.
Aw man. I hope they keep them! We need all the trees and plants we can get out here.
How Ya Dani Great Video You didn't eat anything 🍕slice of pizza for you Everything seems to be Disappearing I JUST HOPE YOU DON'T 👈🌹👍®️
They are being erased from the strip. Crazy.
I can’t believe mirage closing date is on the same day as Disneyland anniversary
Weeeeird.
@@Dani702 yes because Disneyland open on July 17,1955
It will close on Disneyland’s 69 anniversary.
The Hard Rock Hotel at the Mirage will be better than the one at the current Virgin because there will be more visitors on the strip than off strip location
I hope that Korean BBQ place goes in or they keep it in the virgin resort if it's there
What I never understood of the Hard Rock purchase was why get rid of the volcano? What's more rock than an exploding volcano. Hopefully they will keep something to it's effect and not just be a dumb guitar shaped hotel.
HAHA. I also think LOVE going away is weird. You would like that fits right in at Hard Rock.
I have no desire to go back to lasvegas and I used to go twice a year. Corporate America has destroyed everything.
There has definitely been changes, there are still some hidden gems in Las Vegas. And great pricing If you go downtown or even local spots. I always show cheaper options for rooms and food. But then again so much to explore in this world.
After Mirage, which strip resort will be closing next?
They come and they go like money in a slot
New to your channel Just subscribe - Plus thumbs up !!!
Thanks so much and welcome to the channel!
I. Love the Mirage more better then the hard rock Guitars free Volcano shows
Because the Hardrock was so successful the last time they had a Las Vegas hotel. What a joke
Haha. Honestly confused me too. Fingers crossed they do something cool with the spot.
I fear this is the beginning of the end for this building.
Hard Rock is a dated brand. They're going to be in a prime location on the Strip, but they're really going to have to "wow" people to get customers to come through their doors.
I was to poor in the 90’s to stay at the Mar
I've never stayed there either.
I don’t mind if the Hard Rock took over the Westgate instead of Mirage
Lol
So tired of all these “hard rock hotels” popping up everywhere, we are even getting one here in Kern County at our Tejon Ranch here in California… im excited for it but , I feel like the name is being used all over now lol
Oh wow I didn't know that. Interesting. They pulled back and now going hard on their properties.
Won't lie, this recent news made me sick to my stomach. The Mirage to me is one of the most beautiful, unique, and honestly underrated places in Vegas, TRULY a piece of art that always brought me happiness, and while I acknowledge things always change in Vegas, this one's just not fair at all. I would've been fine with a Hard Rock if it meant the Mirage still kept its charm, the atrium, refreshing water features, the volcano, etc. The Mirage is original and one of a kind, can't say the same about Hard Rock. And now Hard Rock is saying the new thing the guitar tower will add is the ability to take selfies in front of it?? Like that's such a new thing you can't do anywhere else?? Can't say its worth sacrificing that when they plan to build all the way out to the property line, which is something I generally have a big issue with when it comes to new construction, and that was something the Mirage was able to defy that I loved so much about it. Sad to say, but at most, Las Vegas won't give me the same happiness again after this 😔
It's a big bummer. Mirage is so unique. I just hope Hard Rock does well. I love music so I'm hoping for a cool mecca for rock music lovers. But you never know.
Very well said. What is happening is a disgrace.
Jim Jefferies is one of the best standups around. You ever get the chance go see him, won't reget it.
That water looks so cool, I bet you were tempted to jump in. What's your fav Beatles song? Mine is Penny Lane. Remember this? It was amazing... ua-cam.com/video/QjvzCTqkBDQ/v-deo.htmlsi=1y0FYxFYogm17g8a Hope you get to stay there before closing, have fun Dani! 😊
Fingers Crossed! I think "Happiness Is a Warm Gun" but that's a hard one. I like so many of their songs.
So... you are a Las Vegas prompter, well, I suspect they need it desperately.
That sounds about right. Scheduling George Lopez after it's closed because he sucks. Lol
😆
I’m not liking these changes 😭 I miss it already! But it is what it is 🫠
Bummer right? I'm hoping the changes are for the best.
