amin, brother ! im tired of the narrowness of some "cristians" labeling wjhatever they don't understand as occult, c'mon people we're not in the middle ages anymore (although in some ways they were more open-minded, example Hildegard), these things are actually scientifically explained
Very happy to see you talking about her. So many trads have an extremely limited idea of the richness (and strangeness) of our beautiful faith. It's wonderful.
@user-tx3ht2te1t Oh bore off. SAINT Hildegard, doctor of the Church wrote these things down so that others could practice them. We'll take her word over yours 'user-tx3ht2te1t' from UA-cam.
St. Thomas also mentioned using using emerald the same way. What’s curios is that some stones, diamond for example, that do have physical properties that could be useful, like heat transfer or making hard to tap and therefore slander or lie. These were pretty common medical beliefs of the time, and HVB also listed common herb and medicinal practices. Not sure about gold, but silver and copper also have anti-microbial properties we take as of today.
Jewish priests wore 9 or 12 precious stone breastplates. Each apostle has a certain precious stone to represent them and the gate of heaven they stand in front of right? I think John is amethyst. Anyone know about this? I obviously don't remember details, I just remember thinking how amazing rocks are. I still enjoy hunting for agates. I decorate my home with beautiful sand and rocks I've found in my travels.
Thank you for talking about this. I am a Christian healer who does use stones in her practice. Three things helped me overcome incorrect indoctrination about crystals; 1. St. Hildegard, 2. A Coptic icon of Jesus standing in the midst of stones and the verse about the rocks crying out to praise Him if we do not, and finally 3. the IMB tests done by Marcel Vogel documenting the frequencies of crystals. They do heal, even from a distance. They are given to us by God because He is good and He loves us!
By all means, if you are harnessing belief and the placebo effect of crystals in a way that ... say Fr. Ripperger would not object too, maybe it’s ok. But far more healing, and relief of suffering has been achieved already by proper, methodical, non-superstitious use of crystals. In fact, I can cite you an example where countless millions have likely been saved if you wish. But you may not like my answe.
Hello, do any stones or crystals help with frequent urination please? Nothing to do with UTI, caused by pituitary gland tumor or heavy metals poisoning.
Thank you for this video! I bought a device from a site called Dulwich Health which limits the effects of electromagnetic pollution- in other words, a "blocker" from electronic devices and wireless interferences that affect our nervous systems, causing stress. It is made of copper and brass and helps to limit "geopathic stress"; I know it sounds bonkers but I've found evidence of it working through buying a big one- the long stick version- for my grandparents' house without telling them, and my grandmother has calmed down since. I've also given many people the handheld one- the pocket device- without telling them what it does, and they have felt calm. I'm not trying to sell anything lol, I just know it's benefited everyone I've provided it to. This then led me into wrist bands with crystals on them, and I feel I have benefited from them (though I realise the science is more doubtful)- I have had them blessed by three priests so any nefarious origins of them have hopefully been removed. I'm just so happy I've come across this video to know there is some saintly justification for it! God bless you, Robert!
Thank you for sharing this. It is important Catholics to be educated about their own traditions, without superstition or fear. It important to realize the pre-modern worldview in the West was very different from ours. Many Catholics, including clergy, religious and others were comfortable in that space. Powers of gems, stones, the Four Elements, astrological correspondence, alchemy, and Kabbalah were familiar to many of these. Unfortunately (or fortunately depending on your view), most Christian Churches have a modern understanding of the Cosmos so these "sciences" became relegated to more marginal spiritual groups. Condemning them as "New Age" does a disservice to the history of these ideas. Through St. Hildegard it is possible to see it through a Catholic lens, and help recover them for Christianity.
It’s interesting how rationalistic Catholics became, completely reject how saints would have viewed the world 1000 years ago, they are more attached to the enlightenment than to Christendom. If I was to say today that Iron as a metal has healing powers, people would call me crazy, yet if a doctor said you need to take an iron supplement nobody questions that. If Iron has occult (hidden) properties and I use occult in its proper context not as it’s been appropriated today to mean something else, but 1000 years ago saints and churchmen would have spoken about hidden occult properties of things.
we can be too narrow minded about things we do not understand. often christians are so focused on the negative, they drive out any positive......we must not quench the holy spirit

The Kinga Salt Mines ❤- Legend has it that a Hungarian Princess who married the king of Poland (her name was Kinga I think) pointed to the ground and said if you dig there, Poland will be made secure with wealth (salt was a very valuable commodity). But getting back to this post, crystals like all earthly things emit a frequency and ions - this has been well established by physicists and geologists. Himalayan salt lamps when heated emit more negative ions (supposedly) - I bought one for my parents to have on in their hallway so there is a low soothing light to provide enough visibility at night when they need to visit the loo. Crystals are beautiful wonders of the earth. Enjoy them... my only caution is to NOT buy them from a "metaphysical"/"new age"/"occult" shop. You have no idea who has "handled" them. There are all kinds of rock and crystal shops and shows instead.
I love her music, and have several of her chant cd's. The music I find to be very healing. I didn't know she had left writings on physical healing as well. I would be very interested in learning. Is there one book or edition you someone could recommend ? I believe plants would be more practical for me as I will never be able to buy any gemstones. Even the rosaries I make are made of plastic beads. Not the best healing material. I may look into more natural beads for my rosary making after hearing this. I would like to learn more.

Using crystals for protection or healing is, at its root, an idolatrous practice. It is idolatry because it depends on spiritual forces other than God for healing and protection; in other words, it is the worship of something other than God. Idolatry is repeatedly and strongly forbidden in the Bible (Deuteronomy 4:15-20; Jeremiah 44:1-4; 1 Corinthians 10:14-20; 2 Corinthians 6:16-17).
