I'm the same way. I don't like Hamilton. First and foremost I think A. Hamilton was one of the worst founding fathers. He didn't think of the implications that corporations would own America; because his idea of the first national bank was borrow the money from the rich. -.- musically it's okay. I wouldn't say it's ALW status, but it can hold its own. I truly believe the hype outshines it. People tried to give political/social transcendence to it. However, it is ok. All my friends forced me to watch it. Then, we're upset when I said it's okay.

I love that Nigel prefers Classic Disney over some of the new musicals. I mean he's right, I remember songs from when I was younger than new ones that have come out in the last 10 years.
I've wondered whether Hamilton would be appreciated by audiences outside of the US. I loved it but it definitely seems like it could be boring to people who either don't know or don't care about American history. I agree with Evelyn, I don't think it would hit as well if it played at a different time. Even the Disney plus showing was received differently than the original show and it was only a few years later. I hope you get to see it Evelyn, it's visually amazing as well!
Yea it’s interesting!! If you know about American history it does let you appreciate more what Lin did with the musical. But also I dare anyone to watch the scene for “It’s quiet uptown” and not cry.

I agree. I watched Hamilton in three sessions because I wasn’t engaged enough to finish it in one play through. I forced myself to finish it because of all the hype. I can see why its good. It’s just not for me. #UnderTheSea

It's really not that expensive in Sweden to move. Worth the effort really.

It will be really nice if you don't have a close neighbour. Just imagine someone smoking in the house/apartment and smell gets into the hallway. Or someone having a late-night party with loud music shaking your ceiling. Having an individual house is really necessary

Yeah, but like Evelyn, I just moved. I did the packing, but wasn't ready when they came because I had run out of boxes and tape. Using "I know a guy" movers, it cost me $125/hour for 3 guys and a truck. That's the rate. They'll pack for you, but there's a charge per hour, better to pack yourself

Anyway this podcast is just Asians talking about Asian things, and I find that it has resonated with many Asians, whether u are in your home country, or migrated overseas, or born overseas and raised by Asian families. Whether you are East Asian, South Asian, South East Asian, etc. Political and national and cultural differences aside, there are actually many common themes and elements in Asian life 😊
You can always block the channel which I did with another channel that was popping UA-cam suggestions.
