Hi, there’s no the broken ice machine problem in Russia. I just watched CNBC investigation about that hilariously mystery broken problem and asked some friends who are quite close to fast food business(kfc, subway, Burger King, etc) and when I was asking about ice cream machines (according to CNBC report) they always tell me in response that they HAVE NEVER MET and never heard about that! And a couple of times when I visited McDonald’s and ordered ice cream I was asking employers about that and they had no idea about that problem either.

The fact that McDonalds are still paying their employees in Russia is actually one of the best things I have ever heard. The employees have nothing to do with the invasion itself, and they give them paid until they can get another job. Its a huge loss of money for McDonalds, but they are willing to take.

Apple shops stayed closed for just one day after company announcement. 5 McDonalds are still working in the city where I am living (as rumored others are planning to reopen in May). More about the actual impact of McDonald's pulling out of Russia would be helpful. In addition to the restaurants, McDonalds built a whole supply chain to support the restaurants. What is happening to the contracts with potato farmers, beef farmers, truckers, McDonalds processing facilities. I thought CNBC was a business news channel. Is this just click bait for a story about McDonalds arriving in Russia 30-years ago? There is so much more to this story than the retail locations.

What nobody does consider is that this directly affects all Russian citizens, even those who don’t support the Kremlin. By making their lives more difficult and cutting them off from the west, it could eventually turn them into supporters of the Kremlin.
Just imagine everyone hates and mistreats you because you are born in some country, even if you don’t agree with your government. You would be mad at the others and start developing some kind of nationalism, because everyone is feeling like you. And now you start supporting your regime because you start hating the others.

That’s kind of true. And actually 2 days ago some locations reopened under a new name but with the same menu, minus Big Mac and couple of other items that are heavily associated with Mc brand. They sold the rights to do it to some businessman who was working with McDonalds for many years. So the impact isn’t that big for the people and especially workers. people in the USSR were just curious. When I first came to the U.S. and tried McDonalds I was pretty disappointed - mostly because my new American friends seemed to make a big deal about it, and made it seem that it was something really special. We had burgers in the USSR. We just didn't make sandwiches out of them - they were eaten with a fork and knife with some side dishes, just a like steak. There were REALLY important differences between USSR and U.S. - for example, the ability to freely travel outside the country! A burger sandwich? Really not a big deal.

Though less common today, during social gatherings, we often serve them on a single slice of bread with lettuce under and fried onions ontop (was at a time a very popular lunch meal at cafes too). Or more commonly: we have them for dinner (no bread), usually served with potatoes and any kind of mixed salad, which is absolutely delicious.

Most of them - of property of "RosInter" - company which have many other bis'ness - like, IL Patio restaraunts and even some TGI Fridays (yes, in russia - TGI Fridays exist, even Carls Jr.).
Which places they have? Around 20 of them - but in main cities of Russia - Moscow and St.-Petersburg. In Moscow - somewhat almost 15 McD's, then in Saint-P. - have 4 Mc'Ds right now.
You can EVEN google that - on Google Maps, they indeed working right now. Then - McD's places which was bought by the Real McD corporation is frozen indeed.
Same goes to Subway, Burger King and etc. - there are so much, here in Russia, bcs, it's is not main fast-food official places, it's third party licenced/"franchisee". There even some Starbucks exist - bcs of Franchisee program... So, kinda they leave Russia, BUT not quite fully.

Imagine what it would take to just reconnect the different logistics under new leadership.
Also, as much as Russia might make it seem nowadays that it doesn't want or need Western investment or products, that's at most a periodic nationalist sentiment for the time of the war. People are and will be much more healthier.Western corporations gone have helped many Russian entrepreneurs to start business, not having USA,EU concurrence is much more easier, some Mac Donald’s are still open, airports and so on,after all factories are in Russia and keep working as property of Russians,in other words USA,WEST has lost huge market, control over corporations left there,so yeah,if you really want you still can get Big Mac in Moscow, just now it’s not Americans getting cash but Russians..McDonalds are loosing millions per day in Russia in wages and lost sales alone..wuahahahahaha..so nooo,American McDonalds won’t open anymore,Russians will run and profit from same crap food at best..so congratulations west, keep shooting in own legs..end of McDonalds in Russia is not near you expected and planed.😂🤣😂
Warner brothers desperately want back, cos guess what Russians keep watching movies but now don’t pay USA for it..that’s how it goes 😂🤣😂 and nooo, nobody wants western corporations back in Russia ...Good.They are gone for good

Besides the 60k employees, who are still getting paid for now this is being portrayed as if it was a loss for the Russians when in all reality it’s a huge win for them! Sounds like so many Russians will now save more money and also eat healthier foods by cooking at home, why can’t we get McDonald’s to shut down or leave the United States? Also those 60k + employees will find more productive work for the Russian economy or start their own business projects to create analogues of products that were previously supplied from abroad.
