@@tcanwell According to historical accounts. that whole interaction is in regards to the fact that the Pharisees believed that if you ate with unwashed hands, you could give unclean spirits access to your body, thereby making your body unclean. Regardless if that was the case, no one within earshot of our Messiah would have ever been eating the flesh of swine.
Please note verse 8 in which Jesus says to them: “you have let go of the commandments of God and are clinging to the traditions of men.” (That’s still a big problem in Christianity and in Judaism.)

@@lausdeo4944 thanks for your concern but I have read those books many times- as well as Genesis to Malachi-and it’s abundantly clear to me that pigs and shellfish were not created for us to eat; they are in fact more along the lines of waste-disposing creatures that help keep the land and the sea clean, and they are therefore *un*clean for us to eat. That will never change, no matter how badly Christians want to continue to misinterpret Paul’s epistles and cherry-pick soundbites of scripture to use completely out of context in order to justify their disobedience to the eternal commands of our Father.
I am *perfectly* content without consuming the toxic, parasite-ridden flesh of swine. ☺️
