Your video really helped me, TY! We bought a used pontoon boat last fall, guy said it had just been fully "serviced"... BUT... we heard a semi-loud pop-pop-pop, and when we took the cover off, we saw that the pop and accompanying flame/flash was coming from behind the fuel pump. Turned out that the service person "reattached" the fuel pump upside down. Hoses were all in the correct place, but the pump was upside down and the top screw was only half way in. When I saw how your pump was installed, I knew what had happened to mine, and I prayed that the long skinny gasket that goes between the pump & engine was laying down at the bottom of the engine housing, and when we went back down to the boat launch, that's exactly where I found the gasket! Thank you God! It took 5 minutes to cut new ends on all of my hoses, put the pump back in correctly and fire it up. No loud pop or flame shooting out now! Still don't know how it even started like that, or how it didn't blow up when my brother drove the boat around last fall. lol #gome
You are welcome. I got it from ebay, but not all parts fit in. Best to get from www.wholesalemarine.com/mercury-outboard-carburetors-kits/ Give them a call and ask for correct parts. Please help me subscribe to my channel. Good luck with the carburetor rebuild.
My 1998 Force 120 had dark rubber round diaphragms; yours seems to be only clear. I bought the kit you listed, one diaphragm in this kit , the one with 2 holes in it is wrong for mine. Guess they made changes to post 95' models. Still had issues at WOT after installing this kit. I have ordered the Teleflex 18-7817 which appears to have the right parts for 98-99 models. Good vid, thanks for posting!
