If you guys didn't know, she escaped at the end. When she woke up in her room, there is a poster behind her. It was a hand that we saw holding the remote controller. However, at the end she was back in her room, but the poster was gone, meaning that the hand no longer controls her. Also if you didn't notice. The remote has a symbol on it, it's the same symbol that the main charter has on her shirt, so we can know that the remote was used to stop her from escaping. Edit: oh, and on 0:51 you can see it says play. But later it says rec. Meaning that not even the hand knows what is going to happen next.
My conclusion was that the hands where her fears something that was stopping her from doing something with her life she wanted to do something with her life but was afraid and the rec and play appearing was the doubt that she had of her not knowing if she was a spectator of other people life's or if she was having her own being lived and in the end it looks like she managed to win the fear and do something with the life she has

Hello my English speakers 🙂 we’re back at it again with another theory. There’s A LOT to uncover so let’s begin this with a bang 😆. Right before we begin we shall refer to the character by her official name: Nira In this story we view the life of Nira, a girl (despite her appearance) that is meant to be a side character as seen at 0:42, 0:44, and at 0:46 to name a few examples. In these examples she’s meant to be the background and even prepares for her these uneventful days ahead of her. But eventually she has enough of this and takes things into her own hands. This results in her changing her position and getting involved, bringing reinforcements, and going in for the attack. Her final action is helping the main character which to her makes her a main character in her own right...but that’s not how this works. ...in this story we view the life of Nira, a girl (despite her appearance) that is meant to be a side character as seen at 2:11, 2:14, and at 2:16 to name a few examples. In these examples she’s meant to be the background and even prepares for her these uneventful days ahead of her...until she realizes that she’s been through this if before... Throughout the video it talks about an “immortal being” taking control over her life. Many visuals such as TVs and remote controllers are seen along with old TV bulbs later in the video. My theory is that Nira isn’t a girl who feels like a background character, BUT that she IS a background character and that the world Nira lives in is indeed the fictional world whether it be live action or fiction. Your probably wondering, “Well then who is this ‘immortal being’”, and that’s simple it’s humans. While yes humans die with time a new creator will come and continue the deceased work a sort of immortal cycle if that’s understandable. This “immortal being” isn’t pleased with a side character taking the lead because they “don’t fit the narrative” that the creators are trying to tell, so at 1:39 they reset her progress and once again places her as a side character. At 2:42 she realizes her situation and takes action to defy her fate as this nobody side character. She leaps and bounds across TV after TV as she nearly reaches her destination, but the “immortal being” has other plans as she falls by the wayside. As she falls we see all these objects around her. At first I thought the character sheets were a strange edition, but they’re actually for the creation process of the character. In short they are the background for character design. The other objects are also background props to create the aesthetic for the environment, in short, there just there to look good and fill space. At 3:13 we see an “immortal being” reach out and save Nira from falling much to Nira’s surprise. Looking around she sees all these TVs on (all these main characters and their spotlights), but turns around to see that her dream is not only out of her control but also shut down. She breaks down presumably having given up, and strangely enough these “immortal beings” comfort her (they’re most likely background characters in their own world as well i.e. writers, animators, etc.). They comfort her telling her that it’s ok to be a side character...but Nira chooses not to accept this reality. She pushes this comfort away and runs towards this shut down dream. She falls but she hangs in there, some TV are glitching, and the “immortal being” are trying to regain control. Nira runs as if her life depends on it and doesn’t look back. At 4:13 the “immortal being” has lost the remote having lost their control on Nira’s life. She continues to run with every inch of strength, and, as that remote breaks into pieces, Nira slams into the TV and from then on creates her own destiny as her own main character. Now that the main story is complete let’s briefly talk about the title: Study Me. It’s strange but explainable as it doesn’t mean to “study” Nira’s life or job, but refers to a “character study” or to be more specific “a study on the side character”. We’ve all seen characters who were either just as or more interesting than the main character, but what about the background characters. The main character always galavants off to a fantasy world or has to save the world and gains new powers in the process...but what about the background characters? A good example would be the Briefs (Bulma’s parents) in Dragon Ball or if we want to go deeper every player in SAO. Each and every background character has its own history that’s more and more intricate and more layered then anything the main character did. But they aren’t the MC they’re cannon fodder that’s used to make the MC look like a hero. However, just like Nira, some characters don’t just want the side character treatment and will take it into their own hands to gain that spotlight. 1:26 goes from, "Study me, figure me out" to just "Study me." Meaning that she will make it so that she can't be figured out, she won't be the simple person she was before. Easily the coolest music video I've seen.
tldr-when the remote control is tired of being remote controlled I think she's not just a background/side character. The imagery points to her being some sort of embodiment of the remote inside of the tv. 0:46 and 1:03 are moments in between changing what's on the tv and that's when we see her changing her clothing. Her main outfit matches the color scheme of the remote and has the same logo as you can see at 2:56 . She has some control over the television because at 1:13 she pauses and unpauses. Despite everything bugging out at 1:30 she still remains afterwards. The biggest points are 3:193:50 and 4:10. The hand that was seen before as the remote's control (get it) holds her 3:19 . She slips out of the hand with the imagery of a remote slipping out of the hand 3:50 . She accelerates as the remote is accelerating to the ground 4:10 . I think just like the viewer, she is a spectator of what is on the tv, except that she is technically inside the tv and that's why she can be scene (k, ill stop). The tvs are watching the same thing repeatedly and she gets bored so she changes things up a little. This is seen as a glitch so the tv is reset, but she still gains the memories back and no longer wants to be controlled so she tries to break out. However, in order to do that she has to destroy what she previously was; a remote. She succeeds, and by doing so has gotten the message to appear on the screen. This proves her existence and now she can escape. But that's not it. She has escaped your screen too because her story continues in all of us who through her have learned that you can change what seems immortally constant. You can change lives and even change the world, but only if you put in the work and change yourself. Hopefully you'll make it for the better anyways ive been watching this mv for the past 4 hours and now its midnight. Every single second of the animation is absolutely gorgeous, but that part where she jumped off the giant hand and landed on the floating tv...man,that was simply breathtaking.
I imagine if she had her own story it would be like : “ You have seen me before.. Why didn’t you save me ..? Would you save me this time ? she was stuck in a time loop, being fully aware there were parallel universe versions of herself and as the time loops happen over and over, she was trying to figure out how to escape it. when she finally had the chance to execute a way to escape, there was that hand holding her back in which could be a symbolism of herself holding her own suffering in by herself and wasn't trying to do anything about it until the time loops got to her nerves. that's why you can see once again when she almost lost hope, the girl almost gave in again to herself; the hands that were trying to contain her/and was comforting her. she sucked up all of her frustrations and made her resolve which therefore made her pursue the ending she wanted; the hands started losing it's power (including the one holding the remote) because she started to go against herself (her own fate, doubts, and fears) thus making her finally in control of her own life and eventually letting her escape from the time loop and existing in a world where her parallel self also exists.
Honestly this reminds me of my depression, anxiety, BPD, and just ab everything. I wanted to get out of it because of how much pain it was inflicting to me and others.. But at the same time I was holding myself back.. because I was scared. I was scared of hitting harder if I be happy and all of the sudden I’m upset again. I was scared of letting go of the life that I knew ever since I was a little kid. I was scared of being in a new life. That was also the reason why I couldn’t cut off my abuser. I loved her and I couldn’t believe that anybody else would be even remotely better than her.. because I also had the same person over and over again.. and I genuinely thought she would change. So I kept on repeating the same hurt over and over again and again.. The cycle continuing.. but than I stopped. Idk what prompt me t9 do it but I got sick of leading the life.. and I didn’t care anymore. People cared about me. And so.. I started to try and work on myself. I managed to get over that fear.. and I managed to keep on moving no matter what.. and I got better. I have amazing friends and people.. and I’m able to socialize well.. I’m happier in my new life. It was extremely hard.. but.. I’m glad I was able to get over my trauma.. I’m looking forward to waht my new life has installed for me. And I won’t give up :3
You forgot a major part of the story, she's a background character that's the idea. So she is forced into it and when she tries to free herself from being a background character she is put back in a loop.

Hello my English speakers 🙂 we’re back at it again with another theory. There’s A LOT to uncover so let’s begin this with a bang 😆. Right before we begin we shall refer to the character by her official name: Nira
In this story we view the life of Nira, a girl (despite her appearance) that is meant to be a side character as seen at 0:42, 0:44, and at 0:46 to name a few examples. In these examples she’s meant to be the background and even prepares for her these uneventful days ahead of her. But eventually she has enough of this and takes things into her own hands. This results in her changing her position and getting involved, bringing reinforcements, and going in for the attack. Her final action is helping the main character which to her makes her a main character in her own right...but that’s not how this works.
...in this story we view the life of Nira, a girl (despite her appearance) that is meant to be a side character as seen at 2:11, 2:14, and at 2:16 to name a few examples. In these examples she’s meant to be the background and even prepares for her these uneventful days ahead of her...until she realizes that she’s been through this if before...
Throughout the video it talks about an “immortal being” taking control over her life. Many visuals such as TVs and remote controllers are seen along with old TV bulbs later in the video. My theory is that Nira isn’t a girl who feels like a background character, BUT that she IS a background character and that the world Nira lives in is indeed the fictional world whether it be live action or fiction. Your probably wondering, “Well then who is this ‘immortal being’”, and that’s simple it’s humans. While yes humans die with time a new creator will come and continue the deceased work a sort of immortal cycle if that’s understandable.
This “immortal being” isn’t pleased with a side character taking the lead because they “don’t fit the narrative” that the creators are trying to tell, so at 1:39 they reset her progress and once again places her as a side character.
At 2:42 she realizes her situation and takes action to defy her fate as this nobody side character. She leaps and bounds across TV after TV as she nearly reaches her destination, but the “immortal being” has other plans as she falls by the wayside. As she falls we see all these objects around her. At first I thought the character sheets were a strange edition, but they’re actually for the creation process of the character. In short they are the background for character design. The other objects are also background props to create the aesthetic for the environment, in short, there just there to look good and fill space.
At 3:13 we see an “immortal being” reach out and save Nira from falling much to Nira’s surprise. Looking around she sees all these TVs on (all these main characters and their spotlights), but turns around to see that her dream is not only out of her control but also shut down. She breaks down presumably having given up, and strangely enough these “immortal beings” comfort her (they’re most likely background characters in their own world as well i.e. writers, animators, etc.). They comfort her telling her that it’s ok to be a side character...but Nira chooses not to accept this reality.
She pushes this comfort away and runs towards this shut down dream. She falls but she hangs in there, some TV are glitching, and the “immortal being” are trying to regain control. Nira runs as if her life depends on it and doesn’t look back. At 4:13 the “immortal being” has lost the remote having lost their control on Nira’s life. She continues to run with every inch of strength, and, as that remote breaks into pieces, Nira slams into the TV and from then on creates her own destiny as her own main character.
Now that the main story is complete let’s briefly talk about the title: Study Me. It’s strange but explainable as it doesn’t mean to “study” Nira’s life or job, but refers to a “character study” or to be more specific “a study on the side character”. We’ve all seen characters who were either just as or more interesting than the main character, but what about the background characters. The main character always galavants off to a fantasy world or has to save the world and gains new powers in the process...but what about the background characters? A good example would be the Briefs (Bulma’s parents) in Dragon Ball or if we want to go deeper every player in SAO. Each and every background character has its own history that’s more and more intricate and more layered then anything the main character did. But they aren’t the MC they’re cannon fodder that’s used to make the MC look like a hero. However, just like Nira, some characters don’t just want the side character treatment and will take it into their own hands to gain that spotlight.

tldr-when the remote control is tired of being remote controlled
I think she's not just a background/side character. The imagery points to her being some sort of embodiment of the remote inside of the tv. 0:46 and 1:03 are moments in between changing what's on the tv and that's when we see her changing her clothing. Her main outfit matches the color scheme of the remote and has the same logo as you can see at 2:56 . She has some control over the television because at 1:13 she pauses and unpauses. Despite everything bugging out at 1:30 she still remains afterwards. The biggest points are 3:19 3:50 and 4:10. The hand that was seen before as the remote's control (get it) holds her 3:19 . She slips out of the hand with the imagery of a remote slipping out of the hand 3:50 . She accelerates as the remote is accelerating to the ground 4:10 .
I think just like the viewer, she is a spectator of what is on the tv, except that she is technically inside the tv and that's why she can be scene (k, ill stop). The tvs are watching the same thing repeatedly and she gets bored so she changes things up a little. This is seen as a glitch so the tv is reset, but she still gains the memories back and no longer wants to be controlled so she tries to break out. However, in order to do that she has to destroy what she previously was; a remote. She succeeds, and by doing so has gotten the message to appear on the screen. This proves her existence and now she can escape.
But that's not it.
She has escaped your screen too because her story continues in all of us who through her have learned that you can change what seems immortally constant.
You can change lives and even change the world, but only if you put in the work and change yourself.

she was stuck in a time loop, being fully aware there were parallel universe versions of herself and as the time loops happen over and over, she was trying to figure out how to escape it.
when she finally had the chance to execute a way to escape, there was that hand holding her back in which could be a symbolism of herself holding her own suffering in by herself and wasn't trying to do anything about it until the time loops got to her nerves.
that's why you can see once again when she almost lost hope, the girl almost gave in again to herself; the hands that were trying to contain her/and was comforting her.
she sucked up all of her frustrations and made her resolve which therefore made her pursue the ending she wanted; the hands started losing it's power (including the one holding the remote) because she started to go against herself (her own fate, doubts, and fears) thus making her finally in control of her own life and eventually letting her escape from the time loop and existing in a world where her parallel self also exists.
Honestly this reminds me of my depression, anxiety, BPD, and just ab everything. I wanted to get out of it because of how much pain it was inflicting to me and others..
But at the same time I was holding myself back.. because I was scared. I was scared of hitting harder if I be happy and all of the sudden I’m upset again. I was scared of letting go of the life that I knew ever since I was a little kid. I was scared of being in a new life. That was also the reason why I couldn’t cut off my abuser. I loved her and I couldn’t believe that anybody else would be even remotely better than her.. because I also had the same person over and over again.. and I genuinely thought she would change. So I kept on repeating the same hurt over and over again and again..
The cycle continuing.. but than
I stopped.
Idk what prompt me t9 do it but I got sick of leading the life.. and I didn’t care anymore.
People cared about me.
And so.. I started to try and work on myself.
I managed to get over that fear.. and I managed to keep on moving no matter what.. and I got better. I have amazing friends and people.. and I’m able to socialize well.. I’m happier in my new life.
It was extremely hard.. but.. I’m glad I was able to get over my trauma.. I’m looking forward to waht my new life has installed for me. And I won’t give up :3

You forgot a major part of the story, she's a background character that's the idea. So she is forced into it and when she tries to free herself from being a background character she is put back in a loop.
