Hi Kevin, that was a great review. I absolutely love the Selentino Madison I bought in your store a few weeks ago, I love my hat even more now, thanks 🖐😁
Kevin. Greetings from Texas. Huge fan of your videos. You’re the coolest New Yorker I’ve ever seen. Smooth and informative. Laid back and energetic. I’m buying a few more hats and you’re always spot on. Thanks for another GREAT clip. You’re pretty dang good on that guitar also! Hope you and your family have a great Thanksgiving!
So glad to hear you are feeling better Kevin! Thank you for taking the time to create this video! Wishing you & your family the very best of health & a Happy Thanksgiving!
Loved your video Kevin,,,, I personally own two silentinos, one gray one camel,,,, outgrew them both but up for,,,, another purchase size 7,,, Now,,,, due to due to weight gaining,,,, keep that content rolling,,,, already ordered a Panama from you guys love it 🤠👍💯
I ordered a biltmore online, the seller mixed up my order, sent me a selentino homburg instead,i really wanted to keep it,i loved the windcord detail. To bad the ther customer was waiting on it!Gotta buy one for myself!!
Biltmore is not making it shipping hats now , forget about them. Selentino is wayyyyy better quality than late model biltmores. Stay away from biltmore
Best wishes Kevin, hoping you’ll feel on top of the world as soon as possible. I like the info on Selentino. Next year may be my Selentino year - here’s hoping wifey is out of ideas for my birthday present and receptive to a few dropped hints :)
howdy and Happy New Year Kevin; hope you're feeling better now than in this video. 🤧🙏 the last hat i purchased was a Stetson Chatham and i'm not happy with it 😡 unlike the Benchley Beaver i own and i 🥰 that Caribou Hat! i took your advice and just ordered a Selentino today. i wanted so badly to buy it from you at JJ but, you didn't have the color i wanted. i ordered direct from Selentino for the Sterling (Hudson) in a 59 and will update you here once i get it. this will be my very first Selentino Hat and i can't wait to feel some of that hat goodness you are preaching in this video. 🤘🎸
I LOVE their hats, they’re thicker, snappier, you will find ZERO threads hanging off, not a stitch out of place, every hat is perfect. This blows the newer US made stuff away, no comparison.great choice
I like Tribeca too....been getting a lot of positive comments on the street EVERYTIME!! ....but this Selentino looks just as good with vibrant color choices to boot.
Hey bud-glad you are 🆗. I'm a very tactile person & color 🎨 oriented. I scrolled through the available Selentino hats @ JJ's & really liked the Miles. Unfortunately, I would look like a dufus in a man’s hat but I would love 💕 the feel of that hat in my hand for sure. Happy Thanksgiving 🦃. 👍☮️🌞🌟💖
So Kevin I just purchased the Miles in Rust and it says Royal Beaver, is it beaver or Hare and rabbit like you mentioned in the other video. I just was thinking for the original price it would be. Thanks. Still enjoy watching.
They don’t really tell us, its just called 100% fur felt .. it’s the top tier felt level and that’s called a “beaver finish”. I’d guess it’s a blend of mostly rabbit, many different qualities and possibly some beaver too but I know the beaver finish is created from flat felt bodies using machines w metal combs that create the long hair finish by combing /pulling it out in a way
Kevin what category would you place Dobbs In,,,, they've been around for quite a while as well,,,,, have just a few,,,,,, but was wondering your thoughts on the quality and brand ⁉️🤔💲🧐⁉️
Dobbs is not the same Dobbs from years ago. They are made by the same people who make Stetson, Hatco. It’s just another “line” for them, they consider it more of an “inner city” line, for certain cities where more “ethnic” looking styles sell more, I know..🙄 it’s ridiculous. But yeah, Hatco makes Stetson, Dobbs, Resistol, and Charlie One Horse hats.. in the same factories.. just different liners, logos and stuff. They’re okay, they make a few highe end hats that are really nice, but for the most part, they’re just stetsons with different styling. I’m not a huge fan, but that’s just me. If u see a hat that you love, that’s cool..go for it, but they’re not the same Dobbs from years ago, it’s just a name that Hatco purchased the license to use.
They will make them in any color we want, but right now we are ordering a little more conservatively.. only two colors, Charcoal is not very popular, actually. Many folks feel it looks too conservative or too Wall Street.. we sell black and light grey wayyyy more than charcoal, but that can be just our shop, every area is different..
Huxley has a higher crown, the Henri is the exact thing with a teardrop and a lower crown, look into both styles.. www.jjhatcenter.com/products/huxley www.jjhatcenter.com/products/henri?_pos=1&_sid=5993429c2&_ss=r&variant=39556169826419
I am going to London next week and spoke to Lock...they said they would not do custom work anymore--hard to justify $500 for a Lock hat if I can't get it fitted and in the color I want. Looking at Selentino instead.
@@KTGHATS I wound up buying from Laird Hatters in London. Got a great porkpie for myself and a newsies hat for my son. Excellent price point of $100 for a crushed felt hat. Planning to order a couple more colors from them
Great info as always. I was looking at the Borsalino Antonio but having a hard time with dropping 4 or 5 Cs. Plus it isn’t back in stock (yet). Looking seriously at the Hudson. A couple of questions, is the Hudson (or Selentinos in general) rollable like the Borsalinos… and shareable? Thanks!
It is not rollable, it’s snappier, thicker, more substantial hat, anything as soft as a Borsalino needs to be super super high end felt to hold a shape, otherwise they just flop.. nobody knows how to make hats like them, Trade secrets. The Antonio is coming back in February, the order was supposed to be here xmas and was delayed, they’re coming back though, on order in grey, tan , black
Good brand review! Quick question... If I'm not wearing a hat can it be left with the brim down or should it be snapped up while its on the rack? I tend to leave them down... is that ok? BTW try a tea made with 1T apple cider vinegar, 1-2 T honey, 1/4 tsp cinnamon and 1/4 tsp ginger in a cup hot water... that'll fix you up.
Better to snap it up when not wearing it, and ALWAYS when wet. But it shouldn’t really hurt it, just keep that brim off of the surface of the table , it’ll be fine the way you’re doing it
Czech Republic, they’re one of the oldest standing hat companies on earth, from 1799, they predate Stetson and Borsalino And the quality is absolutely perfect,in every way
I don’t think I’ve ever really said I liked Stetson…but I love Akubra. Akubra, Selentino and Borsalino are my faves. But Stetson fedoras? 🤣definitely the most problematic brand I can think of,and definitely the lowest of the low as far as quality control. I love their western stuff, but the late model Stetson fedoras? Avoid like the plague
Good to see you back brother Kevin. Thanks for your time and expertise! 👍👒🎩🎓✌

Just picked one up in black this morning at JJ. BTW Aida was a great help. You are correct on all accounts. Class meets cool 😎.

I am, I think, about to get a Selentino Sterling in royal blue. I think Selentino is not a bad choice for a fairly damp climate.
Beautiful, artistic opening!

Got the charcoal Ellington a few weeks ago and absolutely love it. Such clean lines and classy. I’m already eyeballing the Olive Hudson

Hi Kevin!
My hat size is 58,5cm so I should order a 58cm ?
Thank you for the video! The "Hamilton" is a dream ...! 👌👌👌
I’d order a 59, in most hats, unless you’re ordering a Selentino.
Those run large, a Selentino 58 should measure exactly 58.5
Are the Sterling black selentino fedoras soft and pliable as the borsalino fedoras? Where you can easily shape it?
No, they are snappier and thicker. Not at all like that. They’re more like a Stetson but thicker and much better quality
Wish the selentino Hamilton was in charcoal with a black band. I’d get one right away 😅
They will make them in any color we want, but right now we are ordering a little more conservatively.. only two colors,

Hi Kevin, I wear size 6 7/8 Stetson. Will the Hamilton size 7 fit me? That's the only size left on your store website.
It will not. Selentino runs large, you’ll need a 6 7/8.
We get them in from time to time though,

The Madison, and the felt is wayyy nicer IMO
