These Minifigures are so simple, yet you can instantly recognize who they are. I would love to see a Star Wars CMF line in the style of these older Figures.
What I find interesting with C3PO is the fact Lego could of just used a standard head with printing, but the fact they went out of their way to make a unique mold for his head is quite surprising for that time where Lego was still not doing great financially .
Can't wait till u get to 2010 and later. This is where i start to care about collecting all the figs. Prior to this, O don't need em unless they r the only version (like Zam Wessle)
@@2bricks yes and no. If u like the old ones then it's fine. I personally do not care for the older figs because they don't mesh well with newer figs and since we won't get older style figs in new sets, I just did away with needing em.
Your commander battle droid is actually the 2002 one that came out in Jedi Defense II. The 2000 one that came out in the figure pack had the 1999 body that didn't have stoppers on either end of the leg connector bar and it had a paler yellow color than the 2002 version. The yellow print on his head also went down towards the eyes a little bit more than the print on th 2002 one.
Brickset considers those figures to be the same one so for the purposes of my sanity I will too- there was likely a mold update in the years between 2000 and 2002 and attempting to source what amounts to the same exact figure doesn’t appeal to me haha- especially when ordering through bricklink where it’s not easy to find vintage stuff to begin with.
@2bricks That's fair enough, I suppose. They are two very much different figures, both in torso mold and print color, but they are similar enough that it's fine to use them interchangeably for your collection.
That's not the 2000 Boba- it's the 2009 magnet set version. There are quite a few differences. The helmet has red around the visor rather than brown. Can't tell for certain about the body, but it looks bluish grey to me rather than classic grey (or, more specifically, it looks like how bluish grey looks when it's used on magnet figures since they have lower-quality plastic). The print on the torso looks like it could be slightly different due to it being the magnet version which is known to have a different torso- notably the creases in his suit under the armour are thicker and the print as a whole has a sort of 3D effect not present on standard figures. The easiest way to tell is if he has the black alignment mark on his neck. The magnet figures don't have that.
To be clear, I'm not 100% sure about the body being the magnet version but the helmet is definitely that one. The body is either the magnet one or the standard bluish grey one found in 6209 and 6210- can't tell for certain but it definitely doesn't look like old grey. The hips look pretty reddish brown too rather than old brown.
These are great thoughts and I’m gonna double check everything! It’s possible that the seller I got this from was mistaken in their assessment and I never had this particular Fett back in the day for comparison.
@callumpears1523 that has now been added - I had to really look around to find any source that mentions the 1x1 tile, so thank you for bringing that to my attention!
Ok so I can confirm you’re correct- my Fett is an amalgamation of parts from different ones - some of the parts are old grey, but actually the torso isn’t, and the helmet is indeed the wrong one. I’m going to purchase a new one and do a correction/add on thing for me 2001 video :)
I have a bunch of C3PO's that look like that from big lots I bought, now I wonder how old they actually are. 😅 Like how I'm learning on this series. (As are you, checking the comments. 😂)
Hello 2bricks, If I may (no offence intended), I think that 47 minutes for 17 figs is too long. As much as I enjoy your detailed MOC video no mater how long they are (I love all the care you put in all your details), for this you need to make it shorter. At the very least, if you can't make it shorter (and I completely understand that it is not easy), make "chapters". I am not sure the name UA-cam uses but they kind of are "bookmarks" so the viewer can click skip or next if they are not interested in that particular figure. Some of the future years will have a lot more than 17. But I am sure you know that already.(I wrote this part after watching up to 43 min). So yeah, a year with 100 figs would take you 5 hours (I count an average of +/-3 min per fig plus "out-tro") so chapters would really be great.
Thanks 🙏 I always appreciate hearing what folks enjoy and don’t enjoy! I agree for the record - I’m horrible at brevity and I’m trying to get better about it. Cheers!
@@2bricks Cheers to you too. If you add chapters, you can be as long as you wish but probably keeping to between a minute and a minute and a half per fig would be beneficial to your "viewership" (probably made up that word)(I'm native French speaking).

Couldn’t agree more!
I have an idea for a future ship, you could do a YT2400 like the one seen in rebels
It would be a fancy build
Yeah, for sure! Thanks :)

It’s good to have your limits haha! I’m on a bit of a fools errand trying to collect all these 😮

Im so happy someone enjoyed it!!
@@2bricks currently hunting down the full set ! So this video is so helpful and shot so perfectly

Oh damn…I’m getting schooled here! Thank you! Damn these subtle differences are really hard to parse just using old pictures for reference.

Do you think you’ll ever be tackling a V-wing as a moc?
Asking since your
Mocs are so incredible and so cheap at the same time!
Yes!! Very much going to tackle it at some point!!! And thank you!

@@CoreFlux haha yes! There’s so much minute esoteric detail if you really get down and inspect.
How long will you go with this collection? Will there be a "Every LEGO Star Wars Minifigure From 2043"?
@@TheFirstCurse1 yes :)
Imagine how hard 2003 will be 😬
I’m gonna skip over that one haha. I’ll come back to it when I have 19,000,000 subscribers and can afford the figs
