Thank you Garry for your gentle and consistent wisdom and guidance during these incredibly challenging times (for helping us weather the storm). I agree wholeheartedly that dyadic work and teaching parents to support and develop a warm, safe, and predictable type of relationship with their children is ideal. Thanks for the valuable reminders to trust the relationship as the very foundation of health.

Thank you for the kind and thoughtful words. I thought you would like to know that I have been using Child-Centered Play Therapy for the last 20 years, and (although I was worried at first that it would not be as effective on an on-line platform as it is in the playroom) I have been pleasantly surprised at its adaptability. The children are loving it! I have been invited to enter their world (which was not possible before). They share their favorite stuffed animals, toys, and pets with me, take me on tours of their house, jump off of pillow hills, read me books, etc. One 8 year old girl even put me in the basket of her bike and took me for a ride around the block, chatting non-stop with the wind blowing in her face (I fell out once, but she stopped and put me back in. Ha!). What a treat to see these kids in an even more comfortable environment than the playroom. Recently I had a new 4 year old boy who (at 45 minutes into his first on-line session when given a warning that we had one minute left) threatened to handcuff me if I hung up! The next day when he came home from school, he said to his mother, "Where is that play lady? We need to go to her house." I'm so very grateful to have a strategy that can develop that all-important relationship no matter where you are. I recently started a new Facebook group called Child Centered Play Therapists (which I would love for you and any other interested therapists to join) hoping to give other like-minded therapists a safe place to share. Please take really good care of yourself in these challenging times.

Thank you for this encouragement to share our skills and experience to support the families we work with. It is just what we need to hear as we have been considering how to use technology to reach out without resorting to directing the play. You are a great teacher, Dr Landreth. Thank you.

Thank you Dr Landreth for your thoughtful words. The work with children is vital and you are an inspiration. I am looking to get some supervision/training in CPRT. How should I proceed?
