Former mail man here. Can answer their question. Average income for mail man is 45-60 k. However the longer you work the higher it goes. You get a raise every year for 20 years maxing out around $42 a hour. And on top of that there is as much OT as you can handle. I knew several old timers pulling 75-100k

I still remember the $5 foot long jingle, jeez I miss those days
when my friends and i would have LAN parties back in the day we always went to Subway, we would each get two $5 foot longs and eat them all night long. my friend once ate both of them at once, it was like a Guinness world record in person

I hadn't had McD's in like 3-4 years, was stuck on the road the other day and it was McDs or nothing, so I got 2 crispy Mcchickens. Fucking GARBAGE quality, and it was expensive as fuck. I couldnt even finish the second one. The skin was slimy and sloughing off the dry, cheap, shit tasting chicken. And it was like 22 fucking dollars lol.
I knew McDs prices had gotten bad and quality worse, but GAWD DAYUM that shit sucked hard. Could have reasonably convinced me those chicken sandwiches were pulled from a dumpster.
I still remember 2012 getting like 5 mcchickens and 5 mcdoubles for my friend group for 11 dollars, and food was always hot and at least tasted good. Now you get robbed and the trough food tastes like shit to boot
I havent been in the US for 2 years but you could get a shit ton of food at chipotle for 11 dollars last I was in the states and it was way better quality and probably healthier than McDonalds. Maybe it cost 13 dollars now for that now but still a hell of a lot better than 22 dollars for 2 crispy McChickens. I dont know why regular people still go to McDonalds. I feel the market is really just people who are used to the brand and do not think about price/quality that much. Like the sort of people who would continue to drink coke even if coke doubled their prices and ruined teh quality.
As I say that, Ive gone a few times as an American living in Brazil. Basically I only go when im too tired to try to communicate with a regular waiter because they have the touch screens that I can put in English. Its pretty damn expensive relative to local options here though. Like you can get a decent plate of rice beans and chicken for like 4 dollars at a restaurant and McDonalds I usually end up spending like 8 dollars for a meal that get me a similar level of full. Obviously McDonalds is a bit cheaper here but still like double the price of a cheap restaurant.

@@Jimpanectchipotle is wack cause the pricing has gone up sure but the main difference is portions. They used to LOAD you up pre 2017ish and since then its less and less and less. If i go get a burrito there now i dont get full anymore when i used to struggle to finish the whole thing

The nuggets remain cheap in the USA, and they have some combo deals.
Here in Canada where the money is 40% less you can't even get a mcdouble with a $5 bill You can expect to pay $20 for a meal and $10 for a modest lunch. Mcdonalds and other fast food places no longer fill much of a nitche, as I can get more food and more meat for similar prices at some Indian, Chinese, kebab or mexican takeout, and pizza remains the cheapest cost for the most fast food if you are cheap. Mcdonalds, wendys burger king, Taco bell etc are just a ripoff now. It's not that I can't afford them, but that they can't compete with what used to be the mid-tier price range anymore.
