It's all a matter of taste as far as whose rap hits better for you individually, but SUGA himself has said that BTS would never have reached the level of success that they have without RM as leader. Enough said. Having said that...I think I know what school you were talking about, since I graduated from there myself. (Down from Indianapolis...)
No matter who your favorite rapper in the group is it doesn't affect who the leader of the group is at all. RM is the bomb as a leader and he was given that role by Big Bang right from the start.

0:01 Ironically Suga is the most popular rapline member, that’s just the way it is. All three are skilled and versatile with a long list of songs. Some people vibe with one more or it just depends on the song.
RM always does his thing. Don't sleep on him. Each member of BTS shows leadership in different areas and different ways, but RM is the leader for so many reason. I recommend a compilation of RM being the leader 😏

A Leader does not have to be the best of something. The important things are the willingness/passion for the group and the ability to manage the group, ie: maintain the cohesiveness of the group . Also, there is no significant payment for being a leader while he should put other members first before himself). Also, he should be good at problem solution and a good communicator.
Fyi, if you are still doubtfull with RM, you should check his first mixtape. It enough reflects his briliant way of thinking and how he turned his anger and frustration poetically at the beginning of his career in KPop.
In the beginning BTS was made around RM its a fact.PD wanted RM and made him rap leader because of his experience and he had talented PD wanted.Suga would never want to be lead rapper not his style.

All 3 rappers are fire, each have their own style so one isn’t better than the other as far as rappers, J Hope learned rapping practicing with RM and Suga in the doors and developed his own style so while you can have a preference over one of the 3 ‘s style, all 3 are excellent rappers
lol…RM is a problem. They both are incredible ( have you seen Joke?) but they approach song writing very differently. Suga is very concrete and descriptive telling you what is, in your face. RM is very nuanced, more metaphoric. He tells you why it is. They are versatile in different ways. Love them both but for me RM finesse it a little more. I did go see Adust D live in concert. The man is brilliant. What a story teller. Again they both are. Just in different ways. No hate💜💜💜
100%. SUGA is in-your-face. RM is poetry and very, very deep/philosophical. Neither is better than the other. What makes BTS great is that all THREE rapline members bring something very different to the table - as do all four vocalists. Just look at their solo projects for proof. They are basically the Avengers - separately they are superstars. Together, they exponentially better - stratospheric.
They feed off each other why the three I feel the best rap team in kpop

I agree. I used to watch his reactions 🙄👎🏼. His disrespect towards the other members turned me off! He is biased to one member. Sorry Swainmoney. I can’t watch the videos with him in it.
I was wondering why I stopped following him but then saw he popped in here so I followed. Mmm
With BTS it's impossible to say who is "best". They are all incredibly talented and hard-working. But when it comes to rapline, I'd say they are evenly matched but have very different styles and interests. I'm not a musician so that's just my two cents.
Suga has a very established style in his own music and he doesn't stray often (not saying never!). If he makes different tracks, he gives them to other artists (like he did with That That), or BTS (Telepathy). But he keeps it consistent with Agust D, imo and stands out with powerful, sometimes very fast raps. J-hope is heavily influenced by dance and old school hip-hop. I'd say he experiments a lot more, but still pretty much sticks again to hip-hop and rap still. His flow is always very unique and I love how different he is from the other two, even though he was kind of taught by them. RM I'd say experiments the most with genres (starting with Mono), he doesn't stick to hip-hop, especially lately. Even if he raps, it's not always a hip-hop sound. He loves many different genres, like indie music, and you can definitely see that in his solo music and his collabs recently. He was more focused on proving himself as a hip-hop artist back in the day, when BTS got a lot of hate for being Idols. RM's first mixtape and some of his covers like Too much reflect that. Also Joke was his "proof" that he could be a technical rapper, but that's not his main priority.
In summary rapline are one of the main reasons for the variety in BTS' music. If you are someone like me that loves different styles, it's amazing because they have all experimented a lot and it's a rich discography.
Pls, make your friend react to Intro persona or Joke, he will know WHAT RM IS
