Ellen is the best! Badass bass player. Sweet young girl with so much personality. Parents who love her. Dad teaches her music and you know mom made that Help costume. Heartwarming family ❤️
I have been following Ellen for about a year and her bass skill are awesome for an adult let alone a 10 year old. When I heard this song the first time it literally brought tears to my eyes. Her dad is great to her and has helped her through her progress.
She plays just as well as I do and I have taught bass for 25 years and played for nearly 40 years. I also teach vocal techniques and can say I haven't heard too many kids this young with so much vocal control. Yeah, I can hear several places where her vocals could improve, but she has a great voice that will improve as she gets older, anyway. The first time I heard this, it was an absolute shock to hear a 9-year-old girl getting down into alto territory. Her lows were a little light and breathy, but they will improve as her voice matures, too. Talented is an absolute understatement!
There is hope for our musical future. This 9 yr old wasn't playing an easy bass line either. I hope Ellen stays on this musical journey and continues having fun, the way music should be. I myself, I'm blown away. Thanks for this aaaawesome pick Cosmo Kramer. The Guvnor instantly experienced "shock factor" and really enjoyed it too.
Ellen can play harder stuff than that, too! She can also play funk bass lines like "September" by Earth, Wind & Fire and her main influence is Bootsy Collins.
Hya I think Ellen is 11 now and has become even a better bass player, more beautiful and is a lovely young girl. I adore the song she chose to play when getting on line. Penny Lane is so wonderful and it was perfect for her with her tone of voice, tha bass playing and her great eyes. She is remarkable, and lovely. Her Father is the best man and must love his daughter as she is a git or an Angel from GOD! She is a great person for her music talents and a beautiful looking girl. I often watch her and her dad as he is such a wonder loving Father. I make language courses and ship world wide and the language of her country when her dad came from have many many WONDERFUL people and a great history as well. Her Father has to be one of the BEST MAN from his home country as many know me to learn English from there. I would love to travel there some day to see all the historical data there. Ellen is a remarkable girl and I love her as well too. She makes one happy just to see her breathing as she is magical in her lovely ways. GOD BLESS HER! Ray C. in Florida
Great alternate pick Cosmo. You threw us a curveball. What a talent. When I was nine I was catching fireflies. 🤪Very good reaction Harri. 🤴🇬🇧🇨🇦🇺🇸🇺🇦🔥👍🕊️🙃
I have been checking in on this remarkable young girl's channel for quite a while now, but this is the first time I've heard her sing! Her bass playing skills are phenomenal. (I almost added "for her age" but realized it wasn’t necessary!)
I went thru the same reactionsbwhen listening, I've had the pleasure listening to her bass playing which alone is mind-blowing.Now I get the pleasure of listening to her vocals on a Beatles classic no less.
I know right, makes this 72 yr old man's eyes LEAK - she with the talent and heart she has - she could very well become a Legend: from SE Texas Bear A couple of her favorites are - Bootsy Collings, and Earth Wind and Fire! she is remarkable!
watch her new video which is a cover of Blackbird. There are some great Beatles covers out there, and I especially love to see young talents who were born long time after the Beatles still love and appreciate their music (in interviews Ellen named the Beatles as her favorite band). Imo Angelina Jordan's cover of "Yesterday" is great as well, but as this is about Ellen here she is again: ua-cam.com/video/jt3YmGmvyAA/v-deo.html
Her dad performs the backing track for her performances on her originals. Give her dad some credit for her skills, he's an awesome musician in his own right.
That was Awesome! Wow! Little girl was so small she was reaching for those notes on a Hofner violin bass. And singing at the same time. Man that was special. Thanks for posting Harri +++
Harri, I knew you'd be gobsmacked by the amazing little Ellen! Thanks for the terrific reaction, I'm stoked you found her performance so moving. Finally now, you can say you've reacted to The Beatles classic, "Penny Lane". :D
She is a very talented young lady , she will be a humongous super star her father is amazing also makes me wish I would have spent more time with my kids
Her dad is an amazing guitarist. He has been teaching her since she was in a crib. She's ten now. She'll be everywhere soon. I saw her in one video playing with Steve Vai.
Great young voice: she engaged me to listen to the words in a way that the Beatles never did! [I was just too young to be swept up in the initial excitement of Beatlemania and just too young when a teen to be interested in their developing musicianship at the time when they and their fans had matured into adults. My appreciation has been retrospective, and real, but this is one song that seemed a ditty that never spoke to me at all - until now! Thanks Ellen!
So I don't know if any of you caught this put on the one part in the video she is copying the album cover of Help. Her arms are pointing in the letters H E L P. And it looks like the original did pretty neat.
Amazing performance. So enjoyable and so handy on the bass. What a talent!! I'm sure we'll hear more from Ellen. Loved Harri's initial reaction.🤣🤣 Thanks Harri and Cosmo, great choice as usual. Paul will be proud of her.💕 Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦
I stumbled over your channel! And i can tell you as a 63 year old, i also had watering eyes like you. Ellen is such a talented girl and blessed with great talent and parents. And the best thing is her personality.
I've been a huge Beatles fan since 1964 when I saw them on the Ed Sullivan show when I was six years old. That appearance was the night America was introduced to them. I also got to see them live in September, 1964 in Pittsburgh, Pa. and it was crazy. 12,500 screaming fans (most of them teenage girls) They only had 25 watt amps in those days so it was very hard to hear anything. Quite an experience as it was barely controlled chaos. In all my 64 years this has too be the damn cutest Beatles cover I've ever seen. Amazing young talent and quite The Beatles fan. Their music just rolls along from generation to generation. 100 and 200 years from now their music along with Bob Dylan will still be heard and listened to. These are the Big Two who aren't going anywhere as they are that important in the history of popular music. ☮️✌️💕👌
Great reaction Harri! Let's see if Apple Corps LTD blocks this one! She has a video on her channel where she visits Steve Vai with her parents and Steve asks her if new artists like Miley Cyrus are her influences and she says No,I like the Beatles! There is hope for the young generation after all! ♥️
I watched the video of meeting Mr. Vai and when he mentioned Miley Cyrus, she responded with "who?" and they all laughed. I took her response to mean she didn't know who that was, not surprising given her musical roots and training.
Ellen, at 9-years old, is a very accomplished bass guitar player and has her own YT page. I didn't know that she could sing that well, and she will get better as she grows. I enjoyed her performance.
You need to see her now. She's 11 and has developed quite well. She not only plays anything on the bass, but she's a great slap player and even owns a 5 string fretless bass which you can see her playing .
In addition to being adorable, I hope you have watched her other videos and discovered that she is the real deal. Her father is also an accomplished musician. I can't wait to see where she goes with all of her talents.
I follow this young lady both on Instagram and UA-cam for the last couple of months. I first promoted her in my Instagram stories with a link to one of her videos back in May. I also know a little girl from Ukraine who isn’t even 6 who can play Come Together on the drums.
OMG for sure! Just wait until you hear some of her other covers. I’m with you, man, “Penny Lane” by Ellen on bass is just magnificent and this was the first time that I got to hear her vocal, and I’m looking forward to more of it. I’m 63 years old, been a Beatles fan ever since, well, I actually remember seeing them live on the Ed Sullivan show, and when I was in my teens I was ambitious to learn how to play the bass, but that didn’t turn out so well, but now after seeing Ellen I have even started looking around for a bass and an amp, inspired anew by your artistry, Ellen. And don’t try to hide those tears, man, I know what you’re feeling. When I sent out a video of Ellen a few days ago to some friends and family I noted that even in her early stuff she’s so talented and has so much wonderful personality, that I’m crying during the video - crying joyously because I love to see someone achieve their dream, and laughing out loud at the same time because I’m just so happy to see a young rock ‘n’ roller like this that is not only incredibly good, but she just has this personality that comes shining through. I have seen young guitar players before that were technically excellent, but the one thing that I know about them is that their playing, while technically excellent, they just didn’t have a stage presence. And I think back to what Ellen‘s father quoted Victor Wooten in the video, “Ellen‘s Story,” that the teacher should “allow the student to keep the freedom.”
Thank you for this one!! Ellen is amazing! She plays other instruments, too, as well as draws like a pro. She got to be a guest at a big league show in Las Vegas last month. I love her smile (and giggle) and watching a lesson with her dad is mind-blowing.
Is Angelina Jordan getting some competition here? Sure looks like it. Thanks for the reaction. First time ever hearing of Ellen and she really has it. And good luck to your daughter.
It's nice to see Ellen impressing people of all walks of life. She is a major talent.
This was lovely! Ellen has a very nice quality to her voice, and does a really good treatment of Penny Lane. I was so moved by her performance!
Ellen is the best! Badass bass player. Sweet young girl with so much personality. Parents who love her. Dad teaches her music and you know mom made that Help costume. Heartwarming family ❤️
Ellen is also an incredible artist! She plays multiple instruments. She is quite the little rocker! Her artwork is unbelievable too.
Ellen is just superb!! What a lovely young girl, 9yrs of age!!! Just unbelievable!! 🤗🤗
She's 8 in this performance.
@@Cosmo-Kramer Amazing!!

Sir Paul should really take a look at her... she's outstanding
I'm just melting. She is ADORABLE and SOooo talented! Keep on grooving, young lady!
It's unbelievable.
She is untouchable !
Harri, I had exactly the same reaction as you.Blown away.
I’m sure this won’t be the last time we hear from that little fireball what talent!!!
I think it's pretty cool that she's actually playing this on a McCartney-style bass!😄👍

What a soft restful voice!! Great inflection!
She looks so much like my grandaughter. She has so much fun doing her music. A true blessing.
She is awesome, I didn't know she sang.
Ellen can play harder stuff than that, too! She can also play funk bass lines like "September" by Earth, Wind & Fire and her main influence is Bootsy Collins.
Of course, as Harri mentioned, Paul McCartney lines are no joke.
