I get it now about Lil G. What makes him one of the best vocalists probably of all time is that he *leans in* to the "difficulty" of the songs without a moment's hesitation. Fearlessly and it's executed damn near flawlessly EVERY time he touches a microphone. He does/did it like Whitney, Patti, Steve Perry, Wanya, LIVE so expressively too. To me, in terms of musicianship and vocalists, make them at the highest echelon of American secular music as performers. However, there are singers that sing like gods and goddesses like Mariah Carey and Luther, both of whom I love, that don't/did it often which makes them always sound so reserved singing live.
Lil G is the greatest live singer....EVER Just pay attention to 2 things: 1st. I think one important word you forgot, was how EFFORTLESS he makes it look...his range is incredible. NO strain or struggle on his face or voice when he's hitting the peak of his range. Its almost as if, they are playing the studio version behind him, when he sings live. 2nd. Speaking of studio version...now, after watching this, you must go BACK and listen to the album version...and hear how identical he sounds in a studio, to live on stage.
