You keep fixing that squeeze chute up with little improvements like you are & I still think you'll decide to keep it. LOL It's coming along really nice. I like the tool review idea. Who better to give a review than a guy that uses the tools on a regular basis. The tutorials on the tools being used is a bonus too. Stay safe.
Thanks Crslyrn, you might be right! At the very least it will make me want to do some improvements to the one I’m using now! Already have a few ideas... thanks for watching I hope you enjoyed it!
Thanks Jacky. Plasma cutters are nice but man they’re expensive too. Prices have come down a bit in the last 5 years and there are more options now. Used to be Hypertherm was the only brand to consider.
Hey for me, I love tool reviews that are realistic. I've been clicked baited into watching hammers hitting wood for about tan seconds. And yes I fast forwarded and they didn't get better. But you seem to much like me for that stuff
Nice work man! I also enjoy the tools, this thing is coming along very nice! I did not imagine that hog feed bin to be that heavy haha, when I saw the side by side sliding forward I was like uhh.. haha. Take care Tyler!
Thanks Dave. I don’t know if I mentioned it in the video but the bin is almost full! Maybe 2000lbs. altogether so yeah pretty heavy! Thanks for watching
Great I thought you would be! I’m going to promote the hell out of it before I get ready to do it so it’s not an empty house! Thanks for your input BTO and all your support for the channel
Nice job. I'm thinking bout redoing my chute an incorporating my squeeze chute into the chute itself. Right now I just move the chute to the front and chain it down.
A lot of people do that (chain the chute to the alley) and I have even seen guys weld the chute to the alley. I’ve got a small concrete slab under my chute with anchors holding it down so it doesn’t need to be attached to the alley. I hope you make a video on it when you do!
Farmer Tyler Ranch did you pour your own pad for the chute? If so, what was the design? Curious on how thick, rebar, mesh or anything else in it. I need to put pads in for our chute and calf table so I can bolt them down.
Yeah Floyd Farms I poured it. 4” thick and rebar in 12” squares. The most important thing is either make the pad narrow enough so the chute just fits or make it plenty wide enough so the operator has room to work on it. In other words, you don’t want the edge of the concrete to be right where the chute operator is standing. Make sense?
Farmer Tyler Ranch makes perfect sense, I was thinking maybe 2.5' on each side and a small ramp back into the alley so they aren't stepping up into the chute so much. And the t post idea is one I hadn't thought of, thanks!
She's looking really good man! I like that little plaz!! I've been considering getting one for a while now. Just not sure what brand/size to get. Thanks for sharing with us bro!
Thanks a lot Chris. Yeah that Miller is pretty nice. My buddy let me borrow it to do a review on it. I’ve got a Hypertherm in my shop and at work I have a Thermal Dynamics. I still feel Hypertherm is the best. But also the most expensive (funny how that works). The TD is really good, probably the best value as far as what it can do vs. price. I need more time with the miller to form a more accurate opinion. Stay tuned!
@@farmertylerranch4399 Lol, yes you definitely get your monies work from a higher end machine. We have a smaller Miller at work, I can't remember the model but it's a decent machine. I'm looking forward to the review bud!
Do you work in a weld shop at your off farm job? My last off farm job I was a CNC operator and Laser Tech. I ran a Tanaka and a Mazak laser and a old Plasma burn table
I’m not a certified welder but probably 80% of what I do at my off farm job requires welding and fabrication, so I get a lot of practice! I’ve always wanted to run a plasma table, I’d love to have one. But I’ve heard the cheap ones are nothing but problems. Sounds like a cool job.
Such a shame to put all the work into it just to sell it! Very nicely done though. Maybe soften the edge of the sheet metal where it overlaps with a grinder?
Yes it’s a lot of work to get it ready to sell. But I figure if I do a really good job with it, I can ask a bit more for it right? Unless I come up with a reason to keep it...
Farmer Tyler Ranch it will certainly be nice. You’ll probably recoup your steel cost, but I don’t think you’ll be able to recoup your labor. Your craftsmanship is above and beyond. But since when did a farmer ever give themselves a fair wage, haha!
Well first of all, thank you very much for the compliments! And second, you are absolutely right, we never pay ourselves for our time. Comes with the territory right? But that’s ok, I enjoy these types of projects. Thanks again!
Coming along nicely! I'd be interested in tool reviews that are farming/fixing related. Will you be replacing the metal tubes on the floor for slip stops?
I would only do tool reviews for stuff I use that is farm/ranch related because after all, those are the only things I feel qualified to talk about! I think the metal slip stops are in ok shape, haven’t actually looked at them real close. Are you asking because you have an idea for that? If so, throw it out there!
@@farmertylerranch4399 It looked like one of them was rusted through on one side was all, but i didn't go back to look real close. I think it was third one back from the head gate? As far as ideas on it, i don't really have one except maybe some 1-1.5" round tubing squished on the ends and welded there. If i remember right that's what i used making a 4x4 ladder and tower deer stand in high school
Ok I see what you’re seeing now, wow good eye! I think it might be a cobweb or something but I’m definitely going to check that when I get home. Thank you Floyd Farms I don’t know how I missed that!
That is the big question isn’t it?? I really don’t know yet I’ll have to search Craigslist and try to get an idea of what the market is. I’m initially thinking I won’t get $2000 for it, but hoping I can get more than $1000? What do you think it’s worth?
If you give it a good coat of paint after your done repairing I'd think you could get close to $2000 if you don't have any visible damage. If you still got some dings and some loose pivot points then drop back to $15-1600 maybe. That's just going off of my area where good used priefert squeeze chutes run that way. They are powder coated though, so that might make a difference.
Thank you Tom! You’re right it’s not the first time, probably not the last either! Thanks for watching and I’d love to see your corral setup. Do you have a video on it?
I don't understand why you're leaving that sheet metal to overlap and allow even the most remote chance that someone may put the panel in upside down and have the cow get hurt? Why not just make a butt joint and run a back strap between the frame members if you think it would add reenforcement?
After I put handles on the panels they will only fit one way, so there will be no danger of putting them in upside down. The way you’re thinking is another good way to do it that would work well and be plenty strong. I went this route because it is slightly lighter to do it that way and it was faster. Thanks for your thoughts on this! And thanks for watching
Farmer Tyler Ranch sometimes that’s the best way to learn, and having common sense which is not so common these days. Yes some HF tools are good, it just depends how much they are used and if they are used within their design specs. Perhaps make a playlist for tools reviews, and other topics. Playlists are our friend.
Thanks for the video. Tool reviews would be great. I’ll be watching.
Thanks for watching! I think the tool reviews are a go.
Nice! Good tools make projects much easier.
You got that right!
Yes, I love tools, worked with tools all my life.
Thanks for the reply Dan! I think we’re going to do it

Yes definitely more tool reviews.
Yeah I think I’ll make it a semi regular thing
Farmer Tyler Ranch and make a playlist of your tool reviews so they’re easy to find.
