    Dear Jen,
I would love to get a book recommendation for my boyfriend. He doesn't read much, but recently I got him to read The Alchemist and he absolutely loved it. He likes to read about living your dream and achieving your goals. He's a really driven person with a passion for everything he does. Since he loved The Alchemist so much I'm on the hunt for a book that is quick to read and with similar themes.
    Thanks a lot! ❤

    Dear Jen/Santa,
I have a friend (mid-twenties) who is always saying she wants to read more but finds it so hard to get immersed in books these days. She loves character driven stories, but doesn't have much patience for slow-moving ones. Like me, she is a lover of fairy tales, fantasy, and all things magical. I would love to give her a book that will pull her in, and hopefully one that can warm her heart...it is Christmas after all :)
Much love to you! PS, I've already ordered your picture book to give my 4-year-old goddaughter this year. xx

    Dear Jen/Santa,
when it comes to the Winter season, I think that we all look forward to the fuzzy feeling of seeing our beloved sitting around Christmas dinner. I have a friend who feels a bit lost and lonely at the moment and I was wondering if you've got any recommendations for books that make the reader feel calm or mindful, perhaps a Graphic Novel (though all kinds of books are appreciated).
I'll leave you virtual biscuits and a digital cup of tea,
    Artur sans H
PS: The recommendation last year was spot-on and the giftee loved it, thanks a lot!

    Dear Jen,
I have a friend who loves YA fantasy but would like to branch out into adult fantasy. She doesn't want anything with too complicated world building or characters that have difficult names to pronounce. Maybe an urban fantasy? Or something fairytale-esque? I have very little knowledge of fantasy but I trust your recommendations :D Thanks!

    Dear Jen,
These books all look so beautiful! Thinking of getting Secret Lives of Color and all the picture books, very heartwarming :) I'm looking for a recommendation for a book to get my poetry professor from the poetry workshop I had at university, one of the classes in the Creative Writing department. She dressed up as Emily Dickinson for Halloween this year, recommended Virgin Suicides and the poem Having a Coke with You by Frank O Hara to me, knows all about Plath, loved The Shining, and her own published work talks about art and her friend's suicide, among other things. Its hard to get a professor something because you don't want to spend too much and have it be weird. Also, what would you get someone that loves reading about artists/writers/writing/art? I love you and your channel so much and have gotten and read many books from your videos as well as lots of wisdom, inspiration, and writing insights :) I happily own both Franklin and Beginning of the World and would love to do your writing workshop next time it comes around.

I'm looking for something small and lightweight, since shipping is so expensive. Moomin was disappointing because of the racial undertones. But so many lovely books to add to any library.

Viz the Russians - it would have been good to know who translated these. The calibre of the text is - for most of us - more important than what is illustrated on the cover.

Ha! I just recommended Ruby to her on Goodreads two weeks ago! Little Fires Everywhere sounds awesome too. Thank you for taking the time to respond to everyone even though it's such a busy time :) Happy holidays!
