So the thing is, that's not Mormonism, that's American Christianity in general. Hell, CHRISTIANITY in general. Charleston SC, my current home, has more churches than Utah, lots and lots of Christian denominations. They also were the stronghold of the slave states in the civil war and the market through which the majority of American slaves were sold fresh off the boat. It's also full of people who want a beautiful and peaceful future for our country and our world.
I think Mormonism went off track with Brigham Young. Joseph Smith, while not perfect and definitely a confusing character, was not motivated by racist ideology. He was quite anti racist in fact. When he was murdered he was running for President of the United States on a abolitionist platform. And I doubt he had any stance on homosexuality at the time. It'd be like having a stance on the ills of social media - it just wasn't a thing. I left the church in 2000 during that whole prop 8 thing for many reasons, but the main one was that my heart told me that my life and my personal relationship with God were MINE to chart.
It's as helpful to condemn our religous heritage as it is to condemn our country's heritage. It's not spotless, but neither are we, and IT'S THE ONE WE GOT. Our RESPONSIBILITY is to HONOR our past by LEARNING from it and charting a better path for the future. People like us (?) who see the failings need to find and feed the sheep and bring them back to the future we hope for, in the name of Jesus.
Don't get me wrong, I love this podcast and love the information presented. I just feel like the comment section could use a little more future focus and a little less sarcastic highhorsesism. And yes, I did just create that word, from my Pegasus ;)

I agree with John re the church’s position on homosexuality. It can’t change.

This guy is very biased. He has some serious hate issues. He twists ideas into half truths. He makes a few valid points, but most of it is borderline propaganda. He's welcome to his opinion, but cherry picking scriptures to prove a weak point is lame.
I'm not American and I was literally watching him thinking "do a quarter of Americans _truly_ believe _all of_ this?"
It seemed extremely exaggerated
But I do believe in bias in the media. Does that mean I'm in the 25%?

@@truth.speaker Yeah, it's exaggerated. Like anything else, you will find what you are looking for. If you are willing to learn both sides of an issue from several different sources and evaluated it honestly, you will find both good and bad things but hopefully it will resonate as true. It's like this 2020 voter fraud thing. You find sources that can confirm any view, from extreme right nut balls saying Pelosi is already arrested and executed and we are watching clones; to the Communist News Network and everything in between. I know most Americans are watching and listening and probably about a billion worldwide are waiting to see how this plays out. So if you think as an objective open minded person who thinks for yourself you are in the minority, you are not. As an example, only 40% of America is vaccinated and the vast majority is pushing for these audits and that has the Ds sweating because Trump woke us all up which is their worst nightmare.
The cool thing is that he literally has and will change his views if you present better contrary evidence. He has no opinions that are not based on fact. I've listened to every podcast he's ever put out (hundreds). You have no idea what you're talking about. Debunk anything he claims here. You can't.
@@KidFreshie Who's facts? You see conservatives have their facts and evidence and the progressive Socialists have their "facts" but no evidence. They usually fabricate evidence like the Russian collusion evidence Adam (pencil neck) Schiff claimed to have seen. Or the cherry picked observational study used to discredit HCQ. Any scrutiny at all and both crumbled. But since they own the media, Hollywood, big tech... all the press pushes their narrative, even if it's complete garbage. Take the MLK bust story on Jan 20, 2017. 1 reporter didn't see the bust of JFK in the oval office and assumed it had been removed. Without verifying he posted it out. 700 other reporters reposted it until Kelly Ann Conway said here it is, right where its always been. You should have called me I could have taken a picture for you. Same thing with Nick Sandman. Everyone went after him and now he's getting millions in slander lawsuits. Durham has shown us Russian collusion was made up and HRC paid to have Trump spied on. 4 states have enough evidence to decertify the 2020 election. Obama's who admin has been proven to have colluded to take down Trump (treason). Hunter's laptop hs been confirmed to be real, not Russian disinformation. Charges are pending for Hunter for pedophilia and money laundering for his father. Biolabs were in Ukraine holding pandemic viruses. Russia has already proven it in the UN. So much more. You need to see both sides of the story. Only listen to one side and you won't know what is happening.
