I was just about to say this but times 10. A fan actually can stop the nausea in seasoned players. When I go really hard I can still get queasy but turning up the fan takes care of it. This is a brilliant video. People need to know this stuff.
yes i agree in fact when i first got my quest 2 i got really bad motion sickness, to be fair the first game i ever played was pavlov so yeah bad on my part lol but the fan really helps even a fan that can hang around ur neck really helps
My best tips would be to make sure the IPD system is as close as you can get it to your actual IPD(I know a lot of people don't fall into the 3 IPDs given but get it as close as possible, also take breaks every 20 minutes or so. These both help reduce eye strain
One thing you can do about the eye strain is to turn on the double tab on the side of the Quest 2 to see your environment then you can look around your room then back in the game. Even though the image is not that good it still should help. Ross Bass has a great one and that is to hydrate that is so important that it can't be over stressed.
@@hotjewellers291 I got my switch a week ago and it wasn't that bad the only thing was after I took them off I still felt like I was floating in zero gravity 😂😂😂
My best tip is to keep your Quest 2 battery level between 20 - 80%. This will lower the strain of your battery and ultimately will make your battery last longer.
I always noticed that my head would hurt after playing vr for only 30 mins until I realized that the top strap should be doing most of the work while the band is snug around your head! Now I can play up to an hour without much of a headache after! Also stay hydrated!!
My biggest tip is that if you have a Elete strap or even a regular strap after 30 min it hurts your face to the point where the only thing you want to do is take it off so I recommend you take 2 min breaks in between or not tighten as hard
I got my quest 2 yesterday and since I had already known tips and tricks for health stuff I had a really fun experience and I barely got motion sick or eye strain at all.
i never got motion sickness, but i did vomit when playing a climbing map on rec room but nothing else happened after, and the vomiting was caused since i didnt eat anything and i did an all nighter
I made the terrible mistake of not stretching before playing a 3 hour sprint vector session, in my defense it was my very first time playing. I woke up the next barely being able to move
Something that helps me with motion sickness a little bit is reminding myself I'm not actually moving. But climbing on any vr game for some reason still gets me feeling a little nauseous
How safe it is depends on how you’re using it, lol. As with EVERYTHING in life, buyer beware. Don’t be stupid. Easier said than done for some though. Personally, I love it!🙌🏻
Same, this exact concept is a huge part of my argument for 100% legalization of literally *all* drugs. Virtually everything in existence can harm us in some circumstance. @@Th3Raz96 an argument against this however is that we should be trying as a society to minimize harm to individuals, and outlawing drugs is for that purpose, however it's been proven that legalizing drugs in other nations has had a positive effect when instead of jail time, those funds are put towards rehabs for those that are addicted
I can definitely confirm the whole tip on motion sickness because I recently got one and I did feel motion sick after a decent while playing. But now I can definitely confirm I feel a lot better playing for longer periods of time without getting motion sick.
A couple of days ago when i first got my quest 2, I COMPLETELY underestimated the motion sickness caused by playing games like gorilla tag and mission ISS for just an hour, so I'd recommend taking breaks every fifteen minutes or so to adjust to reality.
You get to used to it. Apps have a comfort rating so I’d work your way up. I used to get motion sick and really dizzy from just using a joystick to move for a few seconds in something like rec room (which has comfort options like a vignette) now I don’t get motion sick at all
Hi m&m I have chosen you as the winner of the Synth Riders key giveaway 🎉 Please provide me with either a twitter, instagram, or dummy email I can contact 😃
My best tip is that if you want a Carrying case for your quest 2 you should look for some Cases that are for Cameras cause they have a lot of space and can hold a strap that is too big for most Quest 2 Cases
I've had one problem with the quest 2 so far, the eye strain. I was playing my quest 2 yesterday, and didn't blink for about 2 hours STRAIGHT. That has caused me serious eye problems, and my glasses already need a new perscription. My tip is to not play the quest 2 for 2 hours. play for like.. maybe 45 minutes to 1 hour max.
I think that the best safety tip for the oculus quest 2 is to take a break every 20 to 30 mins to make sure you don’t get eye strain and motion sickness
My main tip is to stay consciously aware of how you're feeling and stop immediately if you feel dizzy, sweaty, nauseous or have a headache. As you said, motion sickness sneaks up on you and it can last hours after you stop playing.
Keeping hydrated and making sure you manage your time are important safety tips. I have a friend who spent 3 hours without a break or hydration and became sick for 2 days.
best tips, have a fan in front of your play space this aids in a sense of direction and can aid in mitigating nausea, have a mat in the center of your play space this can help with balance issues and aid in feeling centered , take regular breaks especially if you start to feel motion sick.
My best tip is put a towel or some sort of material under ur feet, that way u always know where u r and u don’t have to worry about hitting ur walls while playing gorilla tag
My best health tip is to clean the headsets face cover at least once or twice a week. Even if the face cover isn't a sweat sponge it can get really gross. I would love to have that game by the way.
My best quest 2 tip is to protect the lenses from the sun, because otherwise the inner technology of the headset will meltdown. Best case scenario you will only damage the lenses.
My best tip would be to make sure your strap is fitted correctly. Yes, VR in general can cause motion sickness headaches, but an improperly worn/overtightened strap will only make it worse or come on faster.
my best health tip is to never keep going if you feel nauseated, tired, or any negative feelings not necessarily originating from the HMD. Taking frequent breaks is important, especially if your body is telling you it needs one.
When friends and family complain about motion sickness and headaches, I suggest starting off slowly by playing games with less motion and no quick turns. A lot of the time I find that people's first experience with VR was a roller-coaster, racing or a fast action game, you need to work up to these. The game store lists the comfort level. Taking frequent breaks and staying hydrated will help with motion sickness as well as eye strain.
I recommend that if you fell motion sick or a little bit of nausea take the head set off then start playing again so you can get used to the motion sick.
Best health tip for VR? To help remedy motion sickness (not to help "push through it", seriously take a break if you start feeling sick) is in any way shape or form. Ginger root capsules, ginger ale, or even morning sickness remedies high in ginger. (When my wife was pregnant, she would take "Preggie Pops' which were kind of like nausea cough drops. I've since continued using them when I feel motion sick, which is common for me, not just in VR.)
Personally I have prescription glasses which aren't that high to the point that I don't wear them most of the time, but wearing contacts or the glasses in the headset improves the clarity so much. Not only that, but after my play sessions, my eyes have an easier time to adjust to looking at things around me.
Health tip on using VR? i take ginger vitamins 30 minutes before i play my VR to help reduce the dizziness, and i think mostly dizziness kicks in when you are lack of sleep and tired from work, get a proper sleep and no cost at all :)
My best tip is drinking plenty of water keep hydrated as that can also reduce headache's/migraines etc and also for a first timer don't jump into games like rollercoasters or games that require you to stand/walk e.g. FPS adventure games, what has worked for my family and friends is starting off with simple games like driving/racing games. I guess it's because the brain is more accustomed to seating position while landscape etc is moving like a car ride for example
Ok a good eye health tip is that you can get add on blue light filter lenses that go over you quest lenses and filter out most of if not all blue light for around 30 dollars there's even prescription ones that do the same AND replace your glasses for your Quest 2
A tip is if you are going to play take time to go out side and to stay hydrated keep a water bottle and if you are playing a game that needs are movement uh…gorilla tag play in a room that has a good around the room
Biggest health tip for the oculus, is to make sure you eat them carrots! I mean with all that eye straining, gotta fix em up with carrots, I think that’s why they are beneficial?🤔
If your about to get new glasses i recommend getting orange tinted frames or orange magnetic frames it helps alot with strain, also even if you don't use glasses use the glasses spacer
so when my friends and i all got VR we'd ride rollercoasters and do really motion heavy stuff right off the bat to get over motion sickness faster, it can be jarring and it'll suck for a day or two but nothing is ever that bad again. but if you're not a "jump in the deep end and learn how to swim" maniac like us, keeping a fan on you, using comfort turning & taking water breaks often helps a lot.
my best tip and its because I do it and it makes me feel less nausea would be to remove from your face whenever you feel like you can't play no more for like 5 min and put back on and you ready for another session and repeat process
Since i've played it for the first time i've never had any problems. Expirienced motion sickness when walking forward while turning character in Skyrim. Very soon adapted to it.
Taking breaks is good, whether it’s to charge, hydrate, or to chill for a bit, when you headset gets a bit hot that’s when you should take a break, this also helps battery life.
My safety tip is...... every minute worth of gametime you should spend a second looking out to keep eye strain limited and to just leave the headsdt sitting on your head and tightened enough to limit shake but not to over tighten it.
My best quest 2 tip that has helped me alot is hydrating anf lets say after a thrill of the fight round (Great game you should buy for only 15 DOLLARS! not sponsered) is to have some water and sit down for 5 minutes before destorying your tv and risking you brain falling out
Gum helps with motion sickness! if your scared to play it again due to headaches, go out and buy some gum! i'd also suggest a fan for fast movement games like gorilla tag and beat saber!
Synth key pls Get a small rug one that has at least 1 arm length from your wall this will keep you from punching your wall and it also help with motion sickness by grounding you in reality when you step off it and the best part is it doesn't break your immersion in game
I just got mine and these videos have been really helpful. I had problems with my comfortability until I really got that top strap set up right for my head
idk much about the quest 2 as i’m getting one but i’d probably say best health tip i know is to take a break every now and then and make sure not to stay on it for long periods of time
My best quest 2 health thingymuhbob is: Take a break every 20 minutes. This is honestly (at least to me) the most important. On for 20 minutes, off for 20 seconds. I'm not saying this because it's the first thing on the list lol. The best things to do is stuff like: 1: Turning on night mode, which blocks a lot of the blue light. This greatly reduces eye strain for me. 2: As I said, take small breaks in long play sessions. I know from experience, screens do hurt your eyes. They worsen your eyesight. My eyes are so bad now because of how much technology I use. On for 20 seconds and looking at something 20 feet away is important.
My tip: PLAY AN OPTIMIZED GAME WHEN STARTING OUT. When starting VR I picked out a free game that was poorly optimized and ran at a terrible frame rate and resolution, while having sliding and jumping/falling mechanics. I played for over an hour after starting to feel motion sick. I took off the headset and spent the next eight+ hours with the worst headache and motion sickness I have had in my life. That's even considering a complex migraine I had where I literally could not move my body. There went my Saturday.
when I used my rift s the only time I've felt motion sick is in a really fast walking to then teleporting from how fast the running is but when I used my friends quest 2 I got a headache from just 3 minutes of use. Those are the only times I've been motion sick
My Quest 2 health tip is if you have blue light glasses which will protect your eyes from blue light use the glasses spacer and wear the glasses while playing.
When I first started..I would keep one leg up against a recliner to give me a little stability and room orientation. Now..I am a master dragon slaying elf!!
Ok people will say this is a "gimmick", but I can only speak from my OWN experience. Get Blu light glasses!! Long story short. I'm on my Ipad/phone literally 12 hours plus a day. I'm at work, and am able to just sit there and stare. So a few years ago I kept having really bad eye pain. Like it got to the point where I couldn't keep it open cause of pain. I had blurred vision. I just knew something was wrong. I used eye drops. Went to the eye doctor twice, and still they said my sight was fine. (side note, you know your body better than anyone, don't listen to to someone saying you're fine) So, they only logical thing I could come up with eye strain. I knew it had to be from the computer/phone/tv. So that's when I found out about blue light coming from electronics. I ordered a pair from amazon. One was like 50%, and then I got one with 100%. The higher one throws colors off, so it can be annoying.. but my eye were fixed in DAYS! I literally wear them at work when I'm on the phone. I used to wear them with the VR, but was scared I would scratch the lens. . but I think I might go back. But my eyes have no more pain, blurriness, and are back to normal. You will see videos that say the glasses are gimmicks.. but whatever, my eyes are fine now.. so the proof is in the pudding.. SOrry for the long story.. but if anyone reads this far. Please take care of your eyes and think about the glasses. You got nothing to loose, and I was seriously getting scared for my eyes. Good luck to all!
Well if I ever punch a wall when I get my VR (which I ordered which I am very excited for)instead of the wall breaking I’ll break my knuckles since the wall is concrete in my home
My best tip is obey your body. If you feel sick or your eyes hurt, take a break. If you feel sore, you are probably overdoing it. Everyone is different and only you know how far and how long you can take your VR experiences.
Those little pressure point wrist bands and stickers behind your eyes to help with motion sickness. Like...you feel dumb as hell when you realise you have been walking around with stickers behind your ears for days because you forgot but still....worth it.
it took me a while to realise that i needed the headset to sit higher on my face than i thought to get the picture to focus and not give me a headache. that is something that people rallu need to realise as everybody has different eyes, that would be my tip
I really haven't ever gotten motion sickness. The only thing I get is if playing for too long and I take my Quest 2 off, I feel like my arms are working funny because I was use to the movement of my virtual arms. It goes away after like 10 min though and no big deal.
I had the worst motion sickness of my life i had just went on a Roller Coaster in VR been playing for hours had a rec room censory over load and i had a headache and allmost threw up
Taking breaks every 25 minutes and looking into the distance, trying to spot things far away also helps. Not playing in a condensed space as well, making sure not to shin yourself on every cupboard around.
My best tip is, if you are feeling nauseous in VR I'd recommend setting up a fan near by, it keeps you oriented and can help stop the nausea.
I love playing with a fan. I'd recommend it anyway even if motion sickness isn't a problem.
I was just about to say this but times 10. A fan actually can stop the nausea in seasoned players. When I go really hard I can still get queasy but turning up the fan takes care of it. This is a brilliant video. People need to know this stuff.

I recommend that if you fell motion sick or a little bit of nausea take the head set off then start playing again so you can get used to the motion sick.

idk much about the quest 2 as i’m getting one but i’d probably say best health tip i know is to take a break every now and then and make sure not to stay on it for long periods of time
Best tip I could use is to adjust the headstrap correctly
My best quest 2 health thingymuhbob is:
Take a break every 20 minutes. This is honestly (at least to me) the most important. On for 20 minutes, off for 20 seconds. I'm not saying this because it's the first thing on the list lol. The best things to do is stuff like:
1: Turning on night mode, which blocks a lot of the blue light.
There went my Saturday.
just sit down only and use snap turning. Fixes any motion sickness
when I used my rift s the only time I've felt motion sick is in a really fast walking to then teleporting from how fast the running is but when I used my friends quest 2 I got a headache from just 3 minutes of use. Those are the only times I've been motion sick
Best tip is more light in a room but not opening windows take 2 hr breaks have a 12ft area IF YOU PLAY OUTDOORS mid light range face trees or plants
My Quest 2 health tip is if you have blue light glasses which will protect your eyes from blue light use the glasses spacer and wear the glasses while playing.
My advice is manually adjusting your eyes so you can put the quest 2 on the 3rd ipd setting to get maximum fov
My best health tip is to wash your face interface after each use and watch your face in addition to that
When I first started..I would keep one leg up against a recliner to give me a little stability and room orientation. Now..I am a master dragon slaying elf!!
I'm not even joking I was just typing about how I never got motion sick playing VR and as I was typing I saw 7:05. Nice timing
I have liked and subbed and I recommend looking at distance and taking breaks from the headset as the best health tip
I have a health tip for the first quest if you have a funny head to stock head strap will mess your head up
my best tip is to be aware that you didn't just teleport to a different world and don't start running if you get scared or want to attack something
Health of your walls and computer/monitor. Use some sort of Mat in the center of your room to know where you are.
(side note, you know your body better than anyone, don't listen to to someone saying you're fine)
So, they only logical thing I could come up with eye strain.
I’ve had a quest one since March of 2020, playing for a high of 3 hours a sitting, and a low of 20 minutes, and literally nothing bad happened
My best tipp is that take pauses when you plsy VR
Those little pressure point wrist bands and stickers behind your eyes to help with motion sickness. Like...you feel dumb as hell when you realise you have been walking around with stickers behind your ears for days because you forgot but still....worth it.
My favorite tip is not to freak out when getting motion sick, but accept it, and work on it
it took me a while to realise that i needed the headset to sit higher on my face than i thought to get the picture to focus and not give me a headache. that is something that people rallu need to realise as everybody has different eyes, that would be my tip
As soon as they call them "Goggles" you can immediately discredit anything that follows
I really haven't ever gotten motion sickness. The only thing I get is if playing for too long and I take my Quest 2 off, I feel like my arms are working funny because I was use to the movement of my virtual arms. It goes away after like 10 min though and no big deal.
I had the worst motion sickness of my life i had just went on a Roller Coaster in VR been playing for hours had a rec room censory over load and i had a headache and allmost threw up
Getting off the headset every 30' it would be my health tip :) great videos man! keep it going
My best health tip is to stare att something far away (irl) to restore your vision
My best health tip is try to turn down the brightness, will reduce strain in your eyes but yea:)
Taking breaks every 25 minutes and looking into the distance, trying to spot things far away also helps. Not playing in a condensed space as well, making sure not to shin yourself on every cupboard around.
Stay hydrated and keep a mat that doesn’t slide beneath you so you know if you walk out of your safe play area
The best tip I got is stay hydrated and use the night mode and blue light lenses. I want a key!
Dry eyes are also a huge issue so maybe try eye drops before session
tip make sure the roof is high enough jumping to reach is painful when stunted by the roof
