Such an amazing reaction. I loved it. So in touch with every bit of her singing. We're not just listening. We're watching her body language, hand gestures, facial expressions. She puts her soul out there for us. Her love of entertaining draws us in to this soulful era of something new for so many that didn't grow up being a part of this genre. Then there are us that move, sway to the melody that was long lost for so many. I believe Angelina will enlighten generations to come. Thankyou. Enjoy listening to the remarkable songs on this new EP. She has so much waiting to be released.

Don’t worry too much about what to listen to next. This song is one iteration of Angelina, but there are, as you know, many styles and genres from age 7 to now at 17. You know what? They’re all great. There is no favorite song for Angelina fans because she covers so much different territory that you can’t compare them. Just pick titles (or ages) that you like, and she will blow you away. I love what I’m hearing today, but I don’t prefer it to younger Angelina. It’s different, it’s great, and it’s part of a continuum by the best singer I’ve ever heard.

Thanks for the beautiful reaction. This is the second song from his wonderful new EP "Old Enough". The combination of her talent, her fantastic growth, her unique voice, captivating lyrics and the beauty of the emotions they convey simply leave me in awe and grateful to have known her 10 years ago and had the pleasure of being able to follow the its evolution over the years. The mix of styles, timbres, voices, genres and tones that this girl manages to use is incredible, it is not only a question of her primary jazz training, which she has developed in an excellent way, but of all the musical sources she has absorbed in these marvelous years of experimentation and training, which she reworks and connects in a unique way, like the true artist she is. I still can't decide which song I prefer, 5 new songs is too much to digest together, but I loved every minute of listening to this EP. I love her amazing ability to mix old and new in music, it's another one of her amazing characteristics.💛🧡❤

I agree, the views of this video & the visualizers of her new songs that she posted on her YT channel, are way too low. But, more importantly, she has millions of views on streaming platforms like Spotify & Apple Music. I think the writer's/actors strike is what is holding her back from a breakout. I would bet that she was scheduled to perform on a late-night show or morning talk show, where she would perform a song & have a short interview. But all those shows switched to re-runs now, & even when the strike is over, all the big superstars that also got cancelled during the strike, are going to jump ahead of a young "new" singer like Angelina. When the public's eyes & ears finally find Angelina, she will explode. Just my thoughts.

She is only 17 years old, and signed with label Republic Records, I think we can safely leave the promotion to Republic Record. They know 10000% what they are doing? If not, probably someone in this forum had been a director of RR. I think a lot of people don't realize how much Angelina has done in her short life (17). FIFA song and so on. She has 100 songs lying around! The truth is that within a year or two she will be the artist for the big occasions. and not a "bare belly plastic artist" who tops a list for a week and is forgotten just as quickly. She already eats most female vocalists for breakfast, and RR and the rest of the music industry know that too. Be patient!!!! And she sound like Angelina Jordan😊😊

Now that Angelina is "Old Enough" she is sharing her music with the world. We continue to be patient with Angelina being fully promoted.
Once upon a time, in the land of the Norse gods, was born a girl blessed with the gift of song. Properly given the name, Angelina Jordan Astar, she would listen to music every available moment, embracing the story each song told. Angelina was able to hear every note and vocal technique used in a song, then create her own version. Lovingly placing her dolls on the couch, to be her audience, she would perform concerts, honing her craft. The emotions Angelina felt from each song were deep and moving. She sang in order to have the listener feel and understand the emotions she felt.
At age 6, Angelina befriended a shoeless orphan girl about her age, who desired to become a doctor but confided in Angelina it would never happen since she had siblings who needed her to simply survive. Angelina told the orphan to never give up hope and to always pursue her dreams. Angelina took off her shoes and gave them to the orphan girl, saying the shoes no longer fit her. Sometimes a little white lie is needed. The orphan girl, so thankful for the gift, asked Angelina what she desired to be in life. Angelina said she wanted to sing for the entire world. The orphan girl, who Angelina gave the name Princess, said she would pray every day for her dream to come true. Angelina, told her, when on stage, I will always perform barefoot, to remind me of you and all the children like you who can't afford shoes or clothes.
Angelina began her on stage career at age 7 performing for her home country and went on to sing on big stages at age 13 and 17, for audiences numbering in the millions each time. With each performance she gained new fans, who Angelina calls her angels. One would think after performing for such large crowds, she would become well known among the billions around the world, but that was not the case. The world had become a very busy place, with countless ways of learning about new artists. Her angels were inspired to spread the love they felt by listening to her music and knowing her story, and did the best they could to introduce their favorite musical artist to those who had never heard of her.
Many of her angels were perplexed why the recording company who signed her, was not promoting her. The reason is unknown but apparently part of this magical tale. We recently learned Republic Records built a studio for Angelina to create her art. Angelina will be promoted when the stars are properly aligned and not before. Until that time, each angel should continue to spread the love they feel from Angelina's music and introduce new people to her.

Angelina is a fan of Amy Winehouse. In fact she has covered several of her songs. However Angelina has had many influences over the years especially the early jazz greats who she started studying at about 3 years old. Her biggest early influence was Billie Holiday. Angelina has said something like if there wasn’t Billie Holiday there would be no Angelina Jordan. Amy Winehouse was influenced by a lot of the same artist as Angelina so if there are some similarities in their style it’s understandable.
Regarding her look, Angelina has always been kind of retro. She said she was going for a 60s retro vibe which suits her well. Those who criticize her for trying to be Amy Winehouse need to realize that Amy didn’t invent that look. Angelina even had big hair in her Norways Got Talent performances when she was a little girl as well as a home interview when she was about 5.

Dear Sir, Andy Schnell asked AJ in a chat how many songs she had written in her life (she began at age 10). She answered:" I picked 6 for this EP, but I have written over 100 songs."
This EP is the story of love gone wrong. LOVE DON´T LET ME GO is on cloud 9. NOW I´M THE FOOL as you saw is the breakup. FIRE AND RAIN is a love letter to her fans, for standing by her.
IT´S ALL MY FAULT we all look first for errors in ourself. GOOD IN GOOD BYE she finds it is him and giving him the boot. DIAMOND she finaly emerges, stronger than, before and showing us, that she is her own woman.
    Best wishes to you.

I suspect that Republic is letting her mature slowly on her own organic path. Think about it, if she went viral at this young age she would be chewed alive. Think Diana, think Amy, think Coban, think about all of those wonderful inspiring artists that got fried by their fame. Now also think Swift, who seems to have a strong core family. Same for Angelina. My God, Angie is a treasure for all people who can be moved by the art of sound. This young woman has embedded in her brain the gut of emotional expression. When she sings she creates the magic that she is singing in you, like if your voice could make music, this is what it would sing. Mystical, really. Absurdly profound. Yet, when she speaks her heart, she is still quite young and emotionally innocent. But when she sings, she sings from her deep organic existence. That’s all that matters to me.
It is impossible that she will not be known by the world eventually. Fame devours and she is our loved one. Pray it comes gradually so as her innocence is marred she is prepared to carry it sanely.

One of the things you will find in your exploration of Angelina's catalog is that Angelina adapts her voice to the song, not the other way around. She doesn't need to find songs that fit her voice, so much as she is able to adapt to songs from so many different genres of popular music. Her foundation as a singer is jazz, but she can sing songs within any genre. Angelina was blessed at the outset with a physical instrument that gave her an alto voice of terrific range, and with an amazing tonal quality and timbre that has rarely ever been heard. Certainly it hasn't been heard in present day popular artists. As for influences, and versatility, she can sing with the breathiness and anguish of a Billie Holiday (her first inspiration), she can sing with complete clarity, as classic old school singers like Karen Carpenter, she can sing with rasp and vocal fry like an Amy Winehouse, she can also sing with crispness and belting like an Adele, she can sing with the timing and pocket of an Ella Fitzgerald, and so on, and so on, etc. You get the picture. As to why the songs off of this recently released EP from Republic Records are not getting radio airplay worldwide, you have to ask Republic Records. So far, it has apparently been up to her fans around the world to contact local radio stations and put the message out that they need to start playing these songs from this new, emerging superstar of music. I don't understand it at all, and I'm a little upset that they haven't seen fit to promote this music from a young lady whom the CEO of Republic himself signed to a contract, through her agent (her uncle Michael) at the tender age of 14, as their "number one priority new artist". They have built a studio just for her in Los Angeles, and she's been working with some of the very finest producers and songwriters in the business, yet.....not much happening. I understand that the strikes in the entertainment industry have delayed her appearing on talk shows, etc. to promote, and she as of now has only one concert scheduled for this September, although any time she travels, she would need a parent or guardian still to chaperone her and be legally responsible for her. Once she turns 18 on January 10th, and after the release of her full album, maybe then the full weight of the promotion machine of Republic will come into effect. I hope this finds you well, and safe and sound, with blessings to you from Wisconsin!

They obviously didn't go viral, and her prior fanbase can only spent that many time on all 5 combined. Compare this to Love Don't Let Me Go, the first single of her EP that was published 10 weeks earlier, and that now has 2.6 million views.

Interesting and insightful comments and reaction! With this EP, Old Enough, Angelina is revolutionizing the music industry! She has introduced songs that don't fit a specific genre, but rather blend various genres into one. Lyrics are inspirational, and don't depend on sex, violence, and drugs for impact and appeal. We knew Angelina would kill it and certainly this is an example of the ride that is to come.

Lieben-Toten asks, Why have they stopped listening to her? If you dig deep into Angelina's work, you will find that there are some 'angels' who have never left her. To them, her voice, her message of deeper understanding, and her genius to make each song a story of peace and redemption never fades, never ceases, never will be abandoned. In the world of the quick fix, a shower to invigorate will never replace basking in a flowing river of song. How many genius artists have not seen recognition? Appreciation is hard for us mere listeners, but eventually, authenticity and creativity can break through. My thoughts. Peace

Every track is a different cocktail of Soul, R&B, Pop, and Jazz with a little garnish of lyrical Rap on one track. Experimenting with genre mixes she keeps her vocal colour consistent, with plenty of vocal fry and a seductive funky mix of beats. As Angelina can colour her vocals any way she chooses. In ALL MY FAULT its heavier on R&B very Lauren Hill Fugees era. The views are because little to no Radio play. Please everybody keep making requests to your local radio station. I think you could consider Angelina Jordan genre-less, because she has crossed many lines of genre to produce her artistry. And the views are irrelevant at this point, her views are in the millions across many platforms, it’s just a teaser for her full album due out later this year. The visualizer for “Love Don’t Let Me Fo” is only a couple of hundred thousand, but her video has over 2 million on UA-cam, and 500,000 for this one in just one month will be in the millions too in that same time frame.

Howie Mandel said after her rendition of "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road" on AGT: The Champions, "One word describes your voice. Hypnotic. When you sing, nothing else matters. I'm just drawn in to your voice". As for why more people haven't heard of her yet, is something I keep wondering about. Does Republic Records have some type of plan? Or is this something Angelina wants in her journey? Who can say for sure. She just posted a new cover on Instagram with Diane Warren (Only Love Can Hurt Like This) , and her little sister Juliette commented saying "Make you self ready for all the Grammys speeches for 2024 😍❤ I promise I am going to escort you😍❤You are going to win 🏆 4 Grammys!!!" I love it, when people want to hear them all! ❤🎉
You'll find only a fraction of her songs on her own two channels, as many are either TV recordings or fan recordings from concerts, or copies from her social media channels.
To have easy access to most of her songs on UA-cam, I created many playlists. For example, my "Top 40 Percent" and "Best Of The Rest" playlists hold together about 250 videos, all reaction-worthy.
I also have an A-Z index of her relevant performances, that has about 380 videos, splitted into 4 sublists.

Angelina was inspired by a number of artists over the years. Amy Winehouse was one significant one. But her inspirations include Billie Holiday, Adele, Elvis, Ella Fitzgerald, Etta James, Lana del Rey, Whitney Houston, and more. Depending on the song you may hear elements of any of these inspirations. She is very unique. Angelina has not been fully promoted yet by Republic Records as she has just finished school. That was the arrangement with her family when they signed her 3 years ago. This song is part of her EP that was just released and her full album will come out in the fall which is said to include these songs. My guess is they will begin to promote in a bigger way when the album comes out accompanied by her world tour.
Next reaction, before you come back to this EP, I would recommend suspicious minds done within the past year, originally by Elvis. It is a masterpiece.

I'll correct one tiny little thing you said .. that the arrangement was "with her family" .. the arrangement was Angelina and her family. Since ever so early she spoke for herself .. rearranged music by herself .. etc.. I know you know what I mean.

She actually played more songs from Amy Winehouse than from any other artist in her live concerts, total of 5 different titles (and for a 6th there is a rehearsal clip with a band), and often she played two different Amy songs at any concert with a longer setlist.
Here is a playlist of her various Amy covers, some done at multiple occasions, and that's not even a complete list: ua-cam.com/play/PLddfS789jBCr8KoO0WZav1NRC6qGL6K3e.html

Amazing reaction, my friend! For me, this song is 4th from the 6 songs on this EP. The 3 I have in front are 1) Good In Goodbyes 2) Diamond and 3) All My Fault. Maybe give them a listen and see how diverse her songs are ? She sings in ways you haven't heard before. Not even we that have been following her for 10 years. And her pen game ?? OMG But any song from any age is totally OK ofc, as they are all exceptional. I'm really happy that you liked this song so much 🙂 Much love from Norway ♥♥♥♥♥

Angelina's introduction to Jazz was similar to that of Amy Winehouse insofar as Amy's grandmother's love for the genre (she was a singer) inspired her granddaughter as did Angelina's. Amy and Angelina both began singing Jazz at an early age; both shared an admiration for a near identical roster of singers from the past and Angelina's tessitura seems to be similar to Amy's. It's therefore unsurprising that there are sonic parallels, although I would argue that Angelina has shown many more facets to her instrument. A verse from one of Angelina's recent releases may allude to a certain frustration:
    "It hurts sometimes
When they push you on the edge of your mind
Where comparison will rob you blind
    Got you feelin' all empty
    Wonderin' if you're worthy - it's crazy" . . .
We can never know whether Amy possessed the vocal dexterity Angelina appears to be able to summon up at will. It's as if everyone Angelina has listened to has seeped into her very being with the result that she always sounds a little bit like someone. That "someone" is often difficult to pinpoint because it may change from one line to the next. The weird thing is that she is never not recognisably Angelina, which is quite a feat for someone who has covered so many of the true legends and dabbled in genres as diverse as Blues, Pop. Country, Gospel, Reggae, EDM, Soul, Jazz, R&B, Classical and more. If she has settled upon a genre or, as some contend, has invented a new one, my only hope is that her style does not prove to be too sophisticated for those she must rely on to achieve commercial success.

This song, as well as the first one on her 'EP', titled 'Love Don't Let Me Go'
stay in the jazz/pop/R&B lane but the remaining four renditions are unique
for they bring into play additional genres, including hints of 'Hip Hop' and
'Rap', where her intricate, complex vocals really highlight the songs.

Hello. Like you, I am completely mystified as to why every song on her EP is not on the major charts. I do not for a moment believe that I am the only one who thinks that they are ALL spectacular, or that her voice, her talent, and her technical brilliance are vastly superior to a lot of the inane rubbish that is riding high on the charts, much of which is devoid of any genuine musical talent and relies heavily on vulgarity, misogyny, violence and props, all backed up by massive studio over-production.
