    That full home -size buil-in refrigerator blew my mind. Comfy yacht. Fully Solar, too cool!
    Plenty of hang-out spaces.

    A nice view of the boat, but as a solar powered craft it would have been a lot more interesting if you showed us the power plants, and threw up a few stats on the screen. Cheers

    Super interesting. I love car and boat shows for the design trends, design language, choices etc. I see a mix of things going on here with this one - some bits looks a bit thrown together, like the range hood in the kitchen. Some designers would cringe at that I suspect. But other aspects look like mature boat design, all the storage doors and hatches etc. And what is with the Serenity vs Silent naming? They're clearly the same boats.

      Yes, much, have you seen the Silent Yacht 55, 60, and 80 series (or older 44, 65 and 85 series)? they seem to be the main competitor and even better value. Both brands see, increadibly good for limitless range and cheaper operating costs.

    Great investment for a world tour, investing in one soon and love the low to no maintenance aspect. Maybe little fuel for the generator and the kite sail should help as a third option for propulsion.

    • @HansKeesom
      @HansKeesom 4 роки тому

      Kite sail will help a lot when not much sun is around. Think about charging batteries when sailing on wind by using a water generator. Check if electric engine can function as generator while sailing.
      ICE-generator should be big enough to power electromotor so you can move the boat in case of emergency while with dead batteries. Amount of fuel for generator limited to so not to take up space that you could just as well use for extra batteries. Do use/cycle that fuel from time to time though.

      Not so bad if its you're full time home and all the solar means you are fine out on sheltered anchoridge living essentialy off grid most of the time and just managing your power consumption its easier with these vessels as they are designed to be naturally ventilated in tropics and are fully insulated ...that works both ways. If they are double glazed you can get greater efficiency and extend the use.
      Use recycled plastics in the hull or Organics in resin like some cars and basalt fiber rather than
      Carbon or glass and you get closer a passive house on water.
      Theres two more tech improvements on the solar front ones arrived .. printed plastic solar film from a uk company and the other is the prospect of clear solar glass windows.
      Blade batteries seem safer more compact and better ..they are out now and even teslas looking.
      The motor tech is essentially the same as the Silent yatchs but probably with more far East tech options .🤔
      Some well designed and vibration isolated vertical wind turbines on the rear roof corners would be safe and boost power production independent of direction. At night and poor solar generating conditions.

    Do we know how far this boat can travel on one charge?

    • @rockersidF1
      @rockersidF1 4 роки тому +1

      Hector Rodriguez depends on the speed. at 4-5 knots and good sunny days, you can travel for days without using fuel

  • @tonynotstated695

    This is not just one money hole in the water, but because of the battery issues, two holes!

    • @ek9772
      @ek9772 4 роки тому +7

      Tony Notstated depends which batteries. First, battery costs are going down.
      If the batteries come with a standard warranty, then you should not need to replace them for several years.
      Second, on a ‘normal’ boat the fuel cost per mile is between $8 to $9. The cost per mile on an electric boat is around $0.12.
      The difference in savings add up quickly.
      Suppose, you have to replace a 200 kWh battery bank, and the cost per kWh is $200. This is $40,000.
      If you motor around 5,000 miles every four years, then this will cover the cost of the batteries.
      However, most people will do more than 1,250 miles per year. It really depends how you use your boat.
      In return you get quiet, fume less days at sea, and you don’t have as many repairs and maintenance issues with electric motors.
      Like in everything in life, it is a trade off, and you get to choose.

    I don't care for the green.Would rather have in grey instead if it was mine.Also (don't know boat terms) the right side where the sleeping quarters are would want a one bedroom.huge bath and walk in closet and doors to close it off from the rest of the boat.Extend the front of the salon forward and loose the front seating outside area and add solar in front of that.Move the frig. maybe smaller and would like a half bath in the salon(seen someone already do that).Loose the retractable rear deck and put in a lift for a boat off the rear.Now all I have to do is win the lottery and can have my boat.
