I think the Storm Twins's budget went to their unique hand moulds, more premium fabrics/textures, and the outfit separates. The De'Vious Twins came with more accessories at a similar price point because their outfits were simpler to make, with only one kind of fabric and no iridescent pigments or textures to fuss over. I can't be sure, but the prices make sense to me given the difference in the level of detail. But honestly, I would've paid more for oil slick trunks and some extra jewelry or something! For example, I wish Naomi had come with some hair clips since her pigtails look a bit plain next to Veronica's. Overall though, these are just about perfect as far as dolls go as far as I'm concerned, and I may even grab a second set on sale to keep mint, which I never do!

Love the Storm twins! I originally bought them because of Veronica but after having them for a while now, I actually like Naomi the best. I just love their style and color palette so much.
I got the Storm Twins literally two weeks after they came out at full price (they are my current comfort dolls and I like to carry them around and just hold them sometimes). I even asked for a second set of them for Christmas to keep mint in box because they are two of my favorite dolls of all time. Ever since they appeared on the show, my Aspie mind fell in love with their character designs and they are currently comfort characters for me. I love their goth, oilslick color scheme and it reminds me of when I am trying to mix black paint, but I accidentally add a bit too much purple. I love all their clothes and everything about their aesthetic. I also love the nails, because I tend to grow out my nails extra long IRL and its so nice seeing dolls with something that you can actually relate to. And with Veronica's sleeves with the feathers as well as the dark purple color scheme of her outfit and the black hairbows in her hair, she reminds me so much of Fischl and the feather color her night raven, Oz, from Genshin Impact for some reason. I was even fortunate to get a Veronica with a gum piece that wasn't glued onto her mouth so that I could carefully pull it out of her mouth and display her without it. And I am sure that its obvious that Veronica is my favorite twin and my current favorite doll in the whole SH/RH line and that I clearly see the Storm Twins as being superior to the Devious Twins.
By the way, I REALLY appreciate all your awesome descriptions of appearance and clothes. I'm partially blind and, while I can pick out much of this in pictures, and some in person, the subtler hues and details elude me. I have one bit of feedback, though. Could you please describe eye color? That looks fairly obvious to me in the pics, but again I might be missing something. It's also often easier for me to see some things after they're pointed out ... I guess so my brain can better make sense of what my half-functional eyes are looking at, LOL! Anyway, these dolls are gorgeous, and my niece will love them!

I just got the twins for Christmas and didn't have any of the problems you mentioned. No knots, stains, box hair or loose threads anywhere. They are absolutely perfect. The plastic inserts the twins come tied to, Naomi's had a special slot cut out in the back because they had her hair parted with some on each side at the front and the rest tucked in that little slot in the back so her hair wasn't actually touching the box or being smushed against her. All I've done is rinse the gel out but I didn't have to recurl their hair since it came out perfect.
These are fabulous! My niece doesn't have any SH dalls yet, just the RH ones, and she loves her RH twins, so I think she'll love these! Heck, I love these! I've got a Jet Dawson and a Kia Heart standing proud on my computer desk right now!
lol thats so funny i didnt even realize the trunks were supposed to be accessories. i immediately threw them away like what even is this thought it was just box decoration. i thought my dolls were missing something because i thought something was supposed to be in the "trunks" lol
Try a hack that I do with my dolls if they have product on their hair. Just wash their hair in warm water, with shampoo, a little bit of conditioner, rinse, and style as you want
Just got mine on Tuesday. My Naomi also had two tight knots that I had to cut out plus had lots of hair that had both ends in her scalp and had to carefully pull one end out.
Potential typo(?): Naomi's focus has the RH logo while Veronica's has the SH logo. I got them for Christmas and they were 40% off on Amazon (later I realized it was US dollar but it was still good for me in CAD). Can't wait! Only about 15 more days till I can open them. I actually like the face-mold for these latest dolls. Initially, their eyes were too round and bug eyed for me to show any interest. The other doll I got my eyes on is Lola Wilde. Can't wait to maybe get her for my birthday.
The initial buggy eyes put me off the initial line too, I prefer the newer more angular jaw too, these later series are so much prettier in my opinion. Lola was the one I found the prettiest from the Halloween line, I am waiting to see how expensive she will be in the UK but I got these twins for Christmas so I am satisfied for now... I am always tempted though!
@@NotAnotherKuromi I just opened the twins. They are quite lovely. Although, I did notice multiple stains on them. And a weird large clear patch of something spilled on Naomi's face (washing the face solved it though). I think I may have to use acetone to get rid of the other stains. And also I know I've been told this but don't wash bangs. They got messed up really badly and can probably only be saved with a boil wash now. One of the stand is extremely bad. The pole would just not stay in the base and I've had it just pop off randomly a lot (At this point, I've kinda given up trying to put Veronica back on her stand). I'm probably going to modify the clothing a bit. Instead of Velcro, I'm gonna put in a mini zipper for the skirts (one to help it lay flatter and 2 to be able to make the circumference slightly wider so I can pull the skirt down slightly and show a bit more belly). I always thought is was kind of odd the skirts rode way up past the bellybutton to the bottom of their tops even though their tops are clearly cropped. And now I just have to get apoxie sculpt. The lack of collarbone detail is kind of odd. And the small ears and small hands make me wanna build bigger ones. The feet on these dolls are also extremely odd. Usually, one can tell which feet are the right and the left one but these dolls have identical feet. Their pinky toe and their big toe are almost the same size and that's also slightly odd.

@@sarayasage Yea, the gum is glued. Initially, for fear of breaking the plastic, I just kept it in there but I mustered up the courage. I tried the good ol method of nice and slow. Just tugged at it slowly multiple times and it worked. There were glue marks left behind but nothing a little hot water and tweezers can't solve. I'm not going to offer my guarantee because I've heard of others having the plastic just snap and break. Proceed at your own risk.

My package with the Storm Twins and Ainsley just arrived today from Amazon US. I never got them when they were at Indigo because they were too expensive and they sold out pretty quickly. They ended up being cheaper when they went on sale on Amazon US, even with the shipping to Canada. I haven't opened the box yet, so it was nice to have a refresher preview. If you ever do the lip project on Veronica, can you show a video of how you do it? Veronica's face is too pretty to be hidden, so I would like to do something like that too, but I have no idea of how to do it.
I've seen people fill it with a small magnet and epoxy, paint over it, then attach the matching magnet to the gum so it can still be used. I would love to see a tutorial on it!
You have to be the first doll collector I have seen that actually goes to the back of the box to make removing the dolls easier. I keep seeing people struggling from the front but since I have not had opened dolls in a long time, I think my suggestion may be misplaced 😭💔.

My mom went to target and looked at RH dolls for me and didn’t know which ones I wanted but She saw the storm twins, she told me she saw them but didn’t get them since they are like 60 dollars- (overpriced) so I pulled them up on my phone for target, and they were on sale for 35.99 🙂 but she said they weren’t on sale in store. It's so silly they don't come with the trunks though! Those are so handy for sticking shoes, hangers, or whatever in! @@NexJen yep from I understand so far it’s been mila the purple neon shadow and the junior high 5 pack and the person who got the mila doll with mold because they didn’t notice the mold in the store actually contacted MGA to get the doll replaced MGA reached them back and said because the doll and box aren’t damaged to just return the doll back to target this is serious negligence on MGAs part because what if a parent has a child with a penicillin allergy and they order the doll for there child for Christmas and the mold isn’t visible from outside the box it could be very dangerous and at very least require a trip to the hospital MGA should at the very least issue a safety recall and replace and dolls with mold because it’s both disgusting and dangerous
Although penicillin is derived from mold, I was a pharmacist for twenty years and have not heard of cross-reactivity with environmental mold. However, people (like me) can be allergic to mold itself. Again, I have not heard of an anaphylactic reaction the way a drug or food reaction occur, but mold can cause other health effects liking difficulty breathing (it may even provoke an asthma attack in someone who asthma). It definitely shouldn't be on a consumer product. With items sitting around for a long time due to the shipping container crisis, I am surprised there have not been more reports of mold over the past year. Everyone should check their products. I have a sensitive mold nose and can sniff it out quite well, even if it's not visible.

They are on my Christmas list. I honestly like them so much better than the Rainbow High twins XD minus the fact that they don't have real trunks like the Rainbow High twins.

It's so silly they don't come with the trunks though! Those are so handy for sticking shoes, hangers, or whatever in! Ah well ... my niece has several trunks, from her Rainbow High house, closet I think, Avery and her other twins, plus I have a couple that came with Jet Dawson. I kind of wish they'd sell the things separate, even if there's more practical ways of storing extra RH stuff. Most of my niece's dolls' second outfits are still in the cardboard.

@@aquariasketches2147 Ah, I didn't realize that. That's pretty silly, really. I haven't used the hangers that came with my two, but I'm still quite glad to have them. I know my niece uses hers that come with Avery's little fashion rack.
The plaid fabric looks a lot like they took excess Bella Parker fabric and dunked it in a blue dyebath, so that might account for the staining.
My Naomi came with two of the same hand. I had to wait weeks to get a new hand 😂.

I've seen these in stores many times, for 87€. I like them, they look super cool and cute, but..... Yeah, 87€ is way too much for two dolls, even if they're special edition.

@@NexJen yep from I understand so far it’s been mila the purple neon shadow and the junior high 5 pack and the person who got the mila doll with mold because they didn’t notice the mold in the store actually contacted MGA to get the doll replaced MGA reached them back and said because the doll and box aren’t damaged to just return the doll back to target this is serious negligence on MGAs part because what if a parent has a child with a penicillin allergy and they order the doll for there child for Christmas and the mold isn’t visible from outside the box it could be very dangerous and at very least require a trip to the hospital MGA should at the very least issue a safety recall and replace and dolls with mold because it’s both disgusting and dangerous
Although penicillin is derived from mold, I was a pharmacist for twenty years and have not heard of cross-reactivity with environmental mold. However, people (like me) can be allergic to mold itself. Again, I have not heard of an anaphylactic reaction the way a drug or food reaction occur, but mold can cause other health effects liking difficulty breathing (it may even provoke an asthma attack in someone who asthma). It definitely shouldn't be on a consumer product. With items sitting around for a long time due to the shipping container crisis, I am surprised there have not been more reports of mold over the past year. Everyone should check their products. I have a sensitive mold nose and can sniff it out quite well, even if it's not visible.
