The ability to have two "straight men" comedy styles at once is what makes it so good. Both approach it from different angles which is what makes it feel like it shouldn't work and gives it that "oil and water" feel. IMHO I think that's the entire hook of this and it's really well done.
@@tarnin I don't like to over analyze it to put it in a box which it is ill suited for... BUT if we were to make the comparison to existing comedy troupes, I think it is actually straight man, funny man bit with a lot of sarcasm and some romantic tension. It's still a very unique take in that and really makes their individual characters shine.
Frankie's bit is comedic genius. You can tell he's studied comedy quite a bit, and has a specific distaste for people who use comedy as a way of feeding their ego instead of making people comfortable and letting them have a laugh. I feel his "play dumb and sound confused so when you make your point it really stands out" bit led him to be "oh, so basically the opposite of a goth?" and then Frankie lights up and goes YESSSSS and gets a goth to contrast the act with. I love artists that understand that the beauty is in the world, not the artist, and when an artist shows you the beauty in the world instead of the beauty in themselves, they've given you something that can never be taken away.
This seems like it would have been the perfect opportunity for this self-proclaimed Wiccan goth to discuss the history of Samhain and the Irish approach to the afterlife. Happy Halloween and Merry Samhain to everyone, from an old American pagan goth.
11:30 The Ecorcist holds up so well even now. I'd say every print of the second one should be recalled and burned but The Exorcist III with George C Scott and Brad Douriff is surprisingly great, genuinely frightening in parts, probably the best late-career performance from Scott imo, and an absolute masterful and chilling one from Douriff
Formally homeless goth woman here, few thoutghts: its not safe to look homeless as a woman, so unless you're on the streets long term most of us still try our best to look ourselves. Also just it's easier to get through days that feel completely out of your control when you've at least enacted some agency on your appearance.
@John_winston yes, it's unsafe for me not too look housed. ? Getting it at the store? It's really not that costly, remember goth is a diy subculture born from women and queer people exiting punk when it got too full of dude bros, the makeup is just like eye shadow, eyeliner, mascara, lipstick, you'd be hard pressed to find me wearing more than like fifty cents worth of makeup
One thing I’ve always found about young Irish people is they have cultural references that are maybe 3-4 years earlier than English people of equivalent age. My Irish cousins always reference early 90s shows that they were absolutely too young to have seen on TV had they been English. Just got onto this tangential thought cause Frankie references Casper and The Goth references Boohbah - both very eclectic choices.
This feels like the Mr. Show skit where two bros are calling each other chicken and neither will back down and one guy's like "I'm in this for the long haul, I'll marry your ass." And they keep arguing so long they end up in a house doing bills. And finally one guy dies. And the other guy looks around and starts crying because his life is gone. Except in this case. With some very confused kids asking the goth why she got with Frankie to begin with. And she doesn't know. Namaste.
@@caramelldansen2204 i talked about this with my kids... They reminded me that sheep and plants die... So they may be able to make their own clothes but I've never heard of a ghost sewing machine. I could be wrong tho
15:49 It's definitely some kind of apparition haunting this graveyeard. Restlessly chasing back and forth in the background. Not an expert, so don't know if it's a poltergeist.

As a dead person I found it very respectful. ✌️
As an alive person, can’t comment.
@@user-qv2mc3dw5o I’ll remind you in 31 years and 7 days from now.
Bela Lugosi! Thank you for reaching out and making contact from beyond the grave! 🖤
if you're dead how are you writing this comment? (ik)
The irony of how stiff Frankie is this episode and how relaxed and comfortable Bev is so funny. Goths really are in their element in the cemetery.
You could even say Bev was in the cemetery while I was in the cementary
@@meditationsfortheanxiousmindYea, u could say that... but
Frankie is always stiff around Bev.
I can't explain the off chemistry with these two. The two are oil and water and it just works

They're related.
The vibe is vinaigrette
Ying Yang.

Most people here are simply watching these videos, but you, sir, are _understanding_ them. Kudos.
damn, first time I've seen anyone look deep into Frankie's philosophy
yea hes actually pretty solid at comedy and keeping comedic pacing
Frankie and the goth's first date 🥰
I feel like this isn't the first
Having a foodless picnic with Frankie's mum while Bev compliments Frankie's eyes... The shippers are gonna have a field day
She literally offered to show him what a booba looks like.... >.> endless fuel.
These videos are starting to be the highlight of my UA-cam homepage.
SHE'S UTTERLY ADORABLE.
I knowww, all dressed in pink on a picnic 😍
You two have a very interesting relationship.
Opposites attract, y'know?
The chemistry was... palpable
i feel like this is a extensive highkey humblebrag and honestly im here for it. good on you meditations bro
This really is the best new podcast

If the goth lady passes out around spirits.. I think she's an alcoholic 😂❤
Happy Halloween to yourselves and your viewers 🎉

this video gave me a fucking panic attack
already lost it at "u are not the picnic"
These sessions are a highlight of my week- the dynamic between the two is very interesting.
Beverly's skin is flawless
Vitamin D deficiency is so hawt 👻
I can't tell if Frankie is doing 4D chess with his long game or being unwittingly converted into gothdom.
frankie would make an amazing pastel goth

When we lived right outside of DC, i saw the house that was filmed as the outside of the house in the Exorcist.
Frankie and Gothie, sitting in a tree, K-I-S-S-I-N-G!
First comes a picnic, then comes marriage, then comes a Furry in a baby carriage!
5:18 beverly going in on frankies boobah ass outfit hahaha
also “you’re like a living exorcism” is an interesting insult
This is by far the funniest thing I've ever seen in real time interactions ever🤣🤣🤣
Cant wait for the first date over candlelight episode
Ghosts emanate a miasma of corporeal-like mist that one might consider as a kind of sweat.
I didn't pronounce that as emenate...
13:12 i’d just like to reiterate that she actually does look rather lovely today. thanks again for your efforts, frankie.
2 weeks never felt so long
First time listening to this high. Wtf aren't these two on BBC morning show.
The amonut of goth related videos coming from Ireland make me happy!
It's nice to see irish goth subculture being slowly ressurected.
Bev is definitely a rainbow fairy, dressed as a succubus.
Yes, she is certainly very colorful! Really enjoy the discussions between them.
A what
I highly recommend watching this a second time with Paula Abdul's Opposites Attract playing in the background.
Goth on a goth on a cross 🖤
Strange that the only place they don't look like corpses is the cemetery
I think frankie has a point about clothed ghosts being weird: clothes don't usually die.
This class romance keeps playing itself out with utmost grace. Go raibh maith agaibh.
Ghosts don't sweat. They condense.
Happy happy Halloween y'all are awesome
Why are you dressed like a boobah😂😂😂🎉🎉🎉
It’s confusing how happy and sunny but dark and scary you are as a collective
The worst of both worlds
Caspar isn’t naked he’s wearing a burial shroud.
2:32 Italian flag colors was a great touch
Connolly is spinning in his grave.
"she means Ireland" hahahah
I've only ever seen blue ghosts in my day. They'll haunt ye for 3 days at least.

07:18 is that Phantom Frankie doing cultural observations of the living?
15:47 and here he returns after capturing enough material for a new episode

Nah, they’re better as friends. Beverly is like the sarcastic sister, and Frankie is the nonchalant brother.
Invite me to the wedding. I will decline the invite, but i just want the acknowledgement that I'm parasocially involved in your mutual happiness.
What do you call the ghost of a chicken? A poultrygeist ahaha ha....
Fucking love it
Graveyard 🪦 tales with Frankie and the Goth 🦇🐈⬛🕸️🪦🥀🖤🎃🍂🐦⬛⚰️🩸🕷️☠️💀

Im all here for camera person providing their personal laugh track
The conversation in the first 18 seconds is S+
not sure if this micro dose will be enough to last another 2 weeks
Brilliant
is there a camera person actually behind the cam or is that just ghosts in the graveyard gigglin?
Was Frankie's condition for being in a cemetery, that it had to be daytime? The positioning of the monument between them is fantastic.
How tf do ghosts even have clothes? My shirt's not alive! If i die in my shirt, my son gets it. I dont take it with me to the soul recycler!!!
REAL. If ghosts wear clothes, do you need to help each item of clothing move on, too?

Can't believe they caught a poltergeist on film during this!
I couldn't have made up a stupider name for those shoes😂 💯
