My godfather is a Father Deacon. Without him, not only would I likely be lost in a wilderness of sin, but our corporate prayer would be lacking, and many homeless would surely starve. Love your deacons, folks!
St. Stephen's account in Acts is one of my favorite passages in the entire NT. The way he masterfully silenced the pharisees protest against the Church to the extent that their only recourse was to kill him in order to make him go away and maintain their pride. Added to the power of this event is how God uses St. Paul's involvement in St. Stephen's martyrdom to display how powerful repentance is as they are now both in the eternal kingdom as brothers in Christ today! St. Stephen the Protomartyr pray to God that our souls may be saved and the softening of the hearts of those who persecute the Church! ☦🙏🏼 One apostle apostatizes, then one deacon, and then one patriarch, very interesting.
Great video as always, lads. Cheers from Poland! Was once to the Liturgy, I'm currently diving deeper into the Church's teaching, theology, history etc. So your work is of help, obviously. Keep em coming!
Thank you! God bless the deep diving. Attending the Liturgy is definitely the best way to grow in all of it. Also: would love to visit Poland one day! All the best!
Sf.
Thank you so much for this. There is a fresco of St John the Theologian in my church and nobody was able to tell me who the young man next to St John was. However, I was also very distracted by the carpet next to the standard lamp in your studio. I want to take a stanley knife to it and fit it to the floor!
It's an easy misunderstanding to make! But the Church has always said it was the deacon. The easiest way to see that in Scripture is the placement of it directly after chapters dealing with the ordination of the deacons, and of the events surrounding Stephen. And also that in Acts 8:1 it says that "they were all scattered throughout the regions...EXCEPT the apostles". Then, in v4 "those who were scattered went everywhere preaching" and v5 "Phillip went down to the city of Samaria". It's the deacon. Philip the Apostle also has some good stories though for a future episode perhaps!
The context oh the Ethiopian and the Apostle Philip is in itself a denial of the reformist doctrine of free-interpretation. The Ethiopians didn't say "It means ... for me" 😭
Haha! If that's a compliment to our filmmaking then thank you. It's worth saying though that filmmaking has been our day job for over a decade now and so if Patristix looks good it is the result of a lot of different video projects and experiences. It's an industry that's not made us much money, but it's taught us how to make things look pretty cool. We'll do a behind the scenes at some point. Keep being the real UA-camr you are, brother, with your most uneducated educational program on the internet today! 📖

Even outside of Church services, deacons are essential for the running of the Parish and Priests often ask them to do various tasks.
Welcome Back, God Bless. Thanks

Very informative ☦️
Super channel. May your reward be eternal
Love this episode. How do I learn more about the liturgies initially developed by the apostles?
Question was this towel representative of the one that Jesus wrapped around his waist, and then washed and dried the feet of the disciples?
So good! Thank you!
THANK YOU for the great info. price less
What was the error of Nicolas?
We wondered the same thing!
What was the error of the Nicolaites?

I appreciate the advice on making a better beverage, and must remind all that Christ does end, just as with these videos, with tea.

i always thought it was the apostle Philip who talked to the Ethiopian

Astonishing. Could you tell us, please, what is the source of the information? Thank you. Blessings from Romania.
Doamne ajuta! There are a few links in the description and you will also find the stories in many collections of 'lives of the saints'
