Same! I know I’m saved also by faith in the Lord Jesus and the payment he made for me and anyone who believes. A LOT of the time tho lately I have been lacking faith in my own self weather I actually believe or not. This sucks ☹️

Sin can result in doubt and separation from God. Work on purifying yourself every single day. Be very careful what you watch, what you listen to, what you read, who you are around and associate with, etc etc. because all these things fill your heart and it’s your heart that Jesus judges and either accepts or rejects.(Proverbs 4:23) FILL YOURSELF WITH LOVE. “Love covers a multitude of sins”. Perfect Love is what matters to Jesus and God. Fasting and reading the Bible will allow you to be in the presence of Jesus. And it feels AMAZING. It’s a literal tangible FEELING. Hugs.

Thanks for the preaching, some comments saw that fasting was left out that was huge. It’s not common to come by such anointing to heal people. Jesus said it comes by prayer and fasting. I also understand that the man included himself in the faithless generation by saying I believe you lord then he asked for help.
He was trying to explain the text from Mark 9 where there is no fasting mentioned. And yes there is a cross reference to Matt 17:21 but that verse wasn’t on the most earliest manuscripts, however he was explaining from Mark 9, not Matthew 17.

Sometimes the manuscripts will have slight differences, often referred to as textual variants. Mark 9:29 is an example of a passage with a variant."
Be mindful of the translation you read. ESV completely removes the need for fasting in Mark 9:29. Jesus specifically says here “prayer AND fasting” surely his disciples where “praying” while attempting to cast out the demon.

You forgot fasting.
Must be reading from the NIV or Nearly Inspired Version because you left out fasting which is absolutely critical...
Samuel Clemens explains it best. "Faith is believing what you know ain't true."
Great but incomplete answer.. Fasting is very important in this passage.. The fasting part could put more understanding in your answer
Maybe his version leaves out the verse that talks about fasting.
